We stayed at Westin during our vacation in Puerto Vallarta so we ate at El Palmar restaurant quite frequently during our stay. The staff here are super friendly and very attentive. This restaurant has a buffet breakfast every morning for 460 pesos per person. The menu for the buffet breakfast changed every day so we get different kinds of food every morning. During the buffet breakfast, there are 2 stations where you can make your own quesadillas or omelets/waffles/pancakes. We also had dinners here quite often since it rained almost every afternoon while we were here so we just decided to grab a quick dinner at El Palmar instead of going out for food. Overall we love eating at El Palmar and highly recommend this place to anyone who's staying at Westin looking for a great place to eat.

Great place that happens to be open in the midst of COVID. Staff is very courteous. I feel that they do care about hygiene. Masks and eye protection. Had Ribeye tacos. These were delicious. Full of flavor yet simple. Delicate tortillas (not much flour). Had salsa and guacamole on a side. Good place to eat if you don't want to go to the city.

Great spot by the pool reasonable priced I got the rib eye tacos came with four tacos Tip: They use real sugar sodas got a Pepsi not just one but two. They checked your temp before entering and of course offered hand sanitizer the workers had masks on when ordering.

I'm so surprised the ratings aren't better here. I've been eating here for over 10 years and there may have been the occasional "off day" for a server, and some dishes weren't my favorite... but overall and especially lately, the food is phenomenal Da the service exceptional. The buffet is pretty much available all day with a small salad bar that has plenty of quality greens (not just iceberg but good stuff) and everything is fresh including the homemade dressings. The cook at the buffet is so sweet and everything he makes, is amazing. Even when he's "off duty" he will still offer to make you something off menu - even if you say it's not necessary. Soooo professional and happy to please.

We totally enjoyed it! Consider that this a restaurant located inside the Westin resort, so, as usual for the restaurants that are inside big hotel chains, you wouldn't expect much, right? Not in this case! We were pleasantly surprised :)) FOOD We had fajita with beef and fajita with chicken and shrimps combined very tasty, perfectly cooked (on the well done side), absolutely balanced. Beef tacos, again very tasty, the meat was juicy and tender even if well done. Steak, delicious! you have to order it, perfect texture, perfect balanced flavor, well cooked (I asked for medium rare) and super juicy. Mahi mahi fish, it was ok, but not memorable. Fish overcooked, rubbery texture and of course dry, which is normal when any kind of fish is overcooked. AMBIANCE Amazing!!!! I couldn't have enough of it! Yes, it is by the pool, completely surrounded by palm trees, singing birds, colorful butterflies and friendly iguanas, OMG I was in Heaven!!!! The setting is very elegant and simple at the same time, the atmosphere relaxed and calm, I totally enjoyed it. SERVICE just perfect! attentive, informative, polite.

Pleasant first-time visit to el Palmar at the Westin where are spending the night. Reviews made me leery but we didn't want to leave the property for a late dinner when we had an early pick up time booked for a tour the next day. So, we gave it a try. Service seemed well-timed not slow. We tried the waiter's suggestion of the citrus salad. Very light fruity flavor with fresh greens, walnuts, orange slices, and cheese. It was very tasty and the portion was large. The iced tea was very good, just the way we like it. Rolls with a spicy flavor were very good. I ordered the mahi-mahi while my wife chose the chicken burrito. The fish portion was small but it had a nice flavor. It was served with asparagus and a salad. If I could make a suggestion, they should serve a fresh vegetable medley and rice rather than the salad. The burrito was very good and addictive as I ended up finishing it for my wife who was too full. Strangely, it was served with fries. We are in Mexico so why not beans and rice? Please give it a try. I hope their management reads these reviews.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at El Palmar. It's a restaurant inside the Westin, near the pool area . They had a lot of really yummy choices, something for everyone...beans, eggs, bacon, sausage, sopapillas, French toast, pancakes, assorted breads and pastries, assured fruits, cereal, juices, coffee, mimosas... Our server Juan was excellent!! Highly recommend this place.

Breakfast buffet is good but not great. Service was good, selection and food quality was acceptable. Last time we stayed at this resort we walked down to Inzio which is next to the club regina and for similar $ had a much better breakfast buffet. Attached is their full day menu. We also tried la cascada - burgers and dogs on the third floor of the Westin, the Hawaiian burger was ok, the ribeye burger was so dense it was almost inedible, also the gluten free Asiago bun was inedible, the fries were fresh and tasty.

Not a standout menu. Not a standout experience. Would encourage hotel to put little more effort into concept.

Impressed and then some!…read more A bit skeptical, as it was under new management, but Senõr Carrera and his partner, the chef, took such great care of us and did an AMAZING job from presentation to flavor to making us feel welcome and appreciated. (Disclaimer: Please overlook any gringa estupida Spanglish grammar errors.) Gracias amigos! This place is a hidden GEM. The prices were off-the-charts reasonable and the lobsters were HUGE! Being from the Midwest, mì amigas lobsters would've been close to double, if not more, what we paid. It's not those tiny tails like you get at red lobster either, that jumbo shrimp rival for size. These lobsters were legit! I've seen smaller chihuahuas... We had a party of 6 and no one complained about a single dish, flavor, spice, drink. Sr. Mauricio was fun and attentive. Guacamole was good. Calamari was amazing! Please get it. Best several of us has ever eaten. Not over cooked and spongy. Just fantastico. Perfecto! Get in a taxi and go there. Now. Then go again. Your stomach AND pocketbook will having a full on fiesta! It's colorful and has murals and is just a beautiful experience. We have 3 more days here and we might even go again. We will see what the universe tells us we need in México! Olé!

This place is nothing short of amazing! 1) to die for food 2) personable & attentive staff 3) clean…read morerestaurant Chef Leo kept amazing us with every plate.. with a party of 12 everyone was eating off each others plate enjoying each savory bite! I believe our waiters name was Maio(?) very friendly and attentive and personable. Claudio's Place is a must when visiting PV. We'll definitely be going back!
