First off, I would like to say that I love Mexican food. I have written a lot of reviews of Mexican restaurants. I love just about all Mexican restaurants. This restaurant was different. It just had a different feel then other Mexican restaurants. The food was okay, but nothing crazy. The service wasn't the best, but I will get into that later. The food was okay. it is hard to mess up Mexican food, but this was not great. The shrimp I got was over cooked and practically impossible to eat. The best things that the restaurant offers (in my opinion) is the queso. The queso is the normal queso that you would expect. It is creamy but not like a liquid. That is the only thing I would recommend. The Service was not good. We had three servers giving us waters at will. I ended up drinking one whole cup of water out of the three cups of water that the servers gave me. I ordered shrimp fajitas. I ended up getting shrimp with a side of vegetables. I understand how what I ordered could get mistaken with what they gave me, but really, how hard is it. All in all, this restaurant was not very good. If I were you, I would not go here. read more

El Paso? Hmmm... well, I went there a few weeks ago by myself to sit at the bar, watch a little ESPN and drink a few beers. Also, ate some Chile Rellenos.. Rellenos were average, beer was cold, atmosphere pretty nice. This place is nothing special, but it doesn't suck.... but If I was going for some really good Mexican cuisine, it would be La Pagua, Mayas, or Aztecas, not this joint. Its ah---ighht. read more

We've mostly been cooking and eating in during the pandemic stay at home order, but we decided we needed some variety so we tried out a few places. 2 were excellent and 2 were way less than excellent. This one was one of the excellent! The chili relleno a la carte is outstanding. The shrimp was our least favorite. We have the best Gulf shrimp here, and their shrimp just did not have that fresh Gulf taste. Their salsa is super fresh with lots of cilantro. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered the Ceviche and churros for dessert. The best part about the ceviche was the shrimp it tasted very fresh. The seasoning was alright it was very spicy at times. The Churros were alright they came out extremely crunchy, I prefer them a little softer. Service was great. read more

I enjoy going to this restaurant! It is fun and festive and it doesn't disappoint! Prices are good and there is a huge menu! I am vegetarian and I can find options for me each time that are delicious. I order the veggie quesadillas or the veggie fajitas and both are delicious! The tortilla soup is also an excellent veggie choice - it is very good here! For the meat eaters, my family loves the steak fajitas, the enchiladas, the tacos, and well, everything has been delicious here! We love the $2 margaritas! The chips and salsa and bean dip are delicious as well! Service is friendly and it is fun to celebrate a birthday here! read more

Well normally this place is good, but have the say the one in New Iberia is way better. The salsa was horrible and tasted nothing like it should and the chips tasted the grease. So far not happy with this experience. read more

Very good Mexican with very good service but it is very expensive. My wife and I split chicken fajitas for two and the bill was over $50.

Never had issues here before. We ordered pick up from here for the first time and received undercooked food. I was even argued with about how the food is to be prepared. The exact thing I ordered from the Pinhook location was uncooked in the middle and I was told that's how it is unless I ask for it a different way. last night we went in at the restaurant at 10:00 pm when we open the doors the music was extremely loud it was hard to hear talking the person that I went with but the hostes I think she was doing her job by instinct trying to give us a table she couldn't even hear as well what we were saying, finally we got close to her and we told her the music was loud guess what she told us "OK GOOD NIGHT" practically and politely she kick us out, since we are in Louisiana ( 1 year ) is been our favorite and only restaurant where we like to eat, but for what happened last night is a "BIG NO-NO" to go back again, keep your last night hostes and good luck trying to have customers having her in front of the house. read more

Not a very big Mexican food fan... I'm usually into fresh seafood and creole. However, I went here with my girlfriend (loves Mexican food) and was blown away at how good some of their traditional dishes were. I will probably be back to try some of the other dishes... No one came to take our order finally a "manager" I assume noticed us sitting with our menus to the side and came and asked our order but I didn't trust that he actually took the order because he didn't ask me what I wanted with my order. Service was slow. My wife ordered a glass of water and it tasted like it still had soap in it. Another person in my party ordered their chicken enchiladas, plate was hot, food was cold. They claim that their food is freshly made, if so the enchiladas would not have been cold. I ordered their cheese enchiladas, which is my favorite Mexican dish, the taste of these enchiladas destroyed my desire to eat enchiladas again. Living in California, however my son lives in Lafayette, so I am very familiar with Mexican food and have eaten in a lot of different Mexican restaurants, this one my son and I will never return. read more

I come here all the time just for their simple chicken quesadillas. The food here is reaally hit or miss, so for whoever thought the food was canned or bland must have ordered the wrong thing. what I love here are the steak fajjitaas, the ceviche and the shrimp chimichangas. you really get what you pay for here, and the quesadillas with sour cream are always my go-to meal, though they aren't very expensive. Fun and festive! I ordered the fajitas trio and drank frozen mango margaritas. The margaritas were really good. Fresh and flavorful. The fajitas were well seasoned with local flair. Our waitress was sweet but not very attentive. No utensils when our food arrived and she forgot two requests I made. Overall a fun place with decent food. read more

alrite here it starts. i was there for my girlfriend's birthday. we had to wait at least 10 mins just to place our order, even though the store was almost empty. we ordered an appetizer, and told her to make sure it was steak free because my girlfriend is allergic to steak, and when we started eating the rolls it had steak on them. Then we ordered burrito and fajitas , and told her no stake at all in both of them. Then, the waiter comes back with steak all over the burritos. I was shocked, we didn't receive fajitas at all. I talked to the manager, he is so stupid. he doesn't know how to take care of the customers. He told me he will give me $5 off, which i of course did not want. Instead of asking some time to make the fajitas, he was like i will give you good service next time. WTF. Thats nonsense. He acted as if he didn't care, and i was making all the dramas to get free food. To clear the confusion, i tipped them but wrote a long review on the receipt. I would of course want to talk to the owner of this store. Coz manager sucks. WOULD SUGGEST NO ONE TO GO THERE. THATS JUST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO...... read more
