I had heard great things about El Paso. Went at lunchtime with some friends who are fans of the place. The food was a mixed bag. The burritos and tacos we got were pretty good As was the salsa and bean dip. We asked for a side of guacamole. We got a large bowl of "made at the table, delux guacamole". Was way more than we needed, and not very good. Actually not even as good as the prepackaged stuff they sell at Publix. A few big chunks of jalapeños light you up. Otherwise tasteless. But the big disappointment was service related. I ordered chicken on the #2 lunch combo and they brought me ground beef. I didn't get my chicken until everyone had finished. And the bill was ridiculous. One of our group ordered burrito with rice and beans. Another ordered tacos with rice and beans. Both meals on the lunch menu, but they charged a la cart dinner prices on both. The bill was well over $60 for 4 people, at lunch. At hacienda it would be about $45 to $50. Finally an Americanized Mexican food joint in Milton that has booze. About time, because the only other sit-down A-Mex place here has food so bland and mediocre that your great grandma would pan the place as having cooks that have no spices. El Paso has no spice either. But it has booze, so that mitigates the tasteless grub substantially. I had the steak Burrito Asada. It was $13 or $14. Can't remember and wouldn't have remembered the range, had it been worth more than maybe $9, if I were feeling generous. But it wasn't worth more than $9. It wasn't endowed with awesome girth...it was about the circumference of a Taco Bell burrito. Ironically, Taco Bell burritos have steak with more flavor. True, TB (which is also the abbreviation for tuberculosis, BTW) may serve meat of lesser quality, but damn, they at least make it taste like...steak. The El Paso steak is gray, like you'd make Hamburger Helper with, if you were too lazy to put heat to it long enough to develop some flavor and color. Too, I explicitly said "no lettuce". My platter had a good handful on top of half of my cheese, with a tablespoon each of sour cream and guacamole on top of the nasty lettuce clump. That made half of my queso and most of my sour cream and guacamole inedible. That $13-14 burrito doesn't come with any rice or beans. You get the burrito and a metric load of lettuce and that's it. I've had better deals at pro sports arenas. I had a couple of 27-oz house, pre-mixed margaritas from a vat. $9.50 each, no two-for-one. I didn't feel buzzed from $19, but your mileage may vary. I have legendary capacity for drinking. Ask the police. Elsewhere. My buddy, who has absolutely no reason to be drinking slim or skinny margaritas, had two of those. When he got his check, it had "2 Organic Margaritas" or some such nonsense on it and they were $17 each for the same size as my $9.50 vat versions. Four stars for Milton Mexican with booze. Three stars for overpriced, but decent, food. Five stars for very nice staff and a huge restaurant. Four stars total. I bet my buddy would rank it two stars, max. This is a brand new restaurant here and we went last night for their grand opening. It was very clean and we were seated within 5 minutes. It took about 15 minutes to get our chips and another 10 minutes to give drink orders. The waiter Alberto was not familiar with the menu at all, but this was their grand opening. I asked for a large beer and he brought me a small mug both times. It took them 45 min to even take our food order and another 40+ minutes to get our food to us. Once it arrived at our table, everyone had their meal except for me, I finally received it once they were finished eating. He did not make any adjustments to the bill and he overcharged my friend for her dinner. 2 of the 3 bathrooms in the ladies room were out of order, they were clogged. I've heard great things about this place, but upon entering, I was immediately confused and grossed out by all of the dusty corigated beer boxes stacked between each booth. I sat and my husband ordered cheese dip. I tried to relax, but the idea that "Cardboard offers food and shelter for roaches. The insects can digest the fibers of the organic material, and they can hide in the cover of a stack of boxes. Wet cardboard is even better. It emits a scent that cockroaches pick up, and it keeps them hydrated." was literally all I could think about. We asked the waitress for our check and I explained why we were leaving. I showed her a quick Google search about boxes and roaches. She admitted they were annoying and dusty because they've been in place since COVID. We paid for the cheese dip and left. We've only been here three times, six months apart each time on a busy Friday night and every time the service, portions and food were excellent. However, I would not recommend the fish tacos, which were quite bland. But we came for everything else and especially the frozen margaritas. This is the only Mexican food place we go to. We've been to many, and none of them have compared to the quality of food, quality of beverage, atmosphere, and price point as well as El Paso does. We love this place, and frequent here multiple times per month. There's never been an instance where we weren't greeted by a smile by the staff, had chips and salsa put in front of us the moment we sat down, and ever had an empty drink. My wife recommends the raspberry margarita, but me personally? You can never go wrong with a tall amber Dos Equis. Their Tacos Mexicanos are amazing, their quesadillas are cheesy and crunchy, and their nachos are loaded to the ceiling. Good luck finishing a whole plate here. read more

Review Time: El Paso Mexican Grill (Milton) Seeing that I used to work out in this area and my boyfriend lives in Milton, I've been here several times. For some reason I never did a review, but let's get it on. So the usual decor and ambience of a Mexican restaurant, but I love all the TVs they have in here to watch football. Took a few minutes for us to be greeted by our server and get our first round of beverages, but after that everything was on point. The complimentary warm chips, salsa, and bean dip always taste fresh. The girls I was with had shrimp tacos, which came with salad and they picked bean soup. The tacos came out fresh and delicious, along with this phenomenal bean soup. The salad was nice and fresh, but the croutons were a little too soft. Now for my meal, which isn't on the menu and I always order, is the shrimp fajita salad with a side of rice. The lettuce is always nice and crispy; and the shrimp fajita mix is perfectly seasoned. The rice is flavorful, but I usually throw it on top of my salad with salsa. So devourness!!! The patron silver margaritas are always on point and I've had every flavor; but my favorite is the raspberry and peach. To start, the hostesses acted like my wife and I had come there solely to inconvenience them. The one who "sat" us (10' away from the station) literally huffed as she scooped 2 napkin rolls and slammed them on our table before rolling her eyes then turning her back and stomping back to the station with annoyance that we had apparently trespassed on her property? It was unbelievable but we decided to stay out of sheer laziness to go to another establishment. The waitress then came to the table and was amazing at her job. She had a great demeanor. The best part of our experience by far. The chips and salsa were terrible but the meal was good. I had the puff taco. Not the best but not the worst either. The signature drinks were not very good. To end our night as we were already laughing at the circumstances, the same hostess that seated us yelled to my wife as she walked out "have a wonderful evening". To which my wife responded "you too". Then she repeated the words to me and I chose not to acknowledge her so she yelled it at me. I responded "you should be nicer to people" as I walked out. One, they are a brand new establishment who are slammed with the ever so classy Miltonites, but anyone from Milton, FL knows people will flock to anything new. Here's the highlights! Food was good for the price and quantity, but would have liked to see $2-3 dollars cheaper. Margaritas were solid and strong, I think one of the other reviews just got unlucky with their bartender. Clean tables, chairs and bathroom. Wait staff is doing their best and will hit their stride after a few weeks. I would pick this any day over La Ha, Cactus Fail, Taco Bell or Moe's. read more

Most authentic best Mexican food in town. Chips and salsa are made there and fresh. They have a full bar and margarita machines. would highly recommend. Only request I have is for them to change there flour tortillas to some more traditional ones. Maybe make them or not buy the plan grocery store brand. Excellent Mexican food at El Paso in Milton. We've tried other Mexican restaurants in the Pace/Milton area, but they were not so good. But, El Paso was awesome!. First, the primo salsa and chips also came with a bean dip which is made fresh -- according to our waitress Vanessa. She was so attentive (without being annoying), courteous and knowledgeable about the menu and other special events at El Paso. I had the burrito, beef taco, and enchilada combination (K). Very very good! My wife had a chicken chimichanga. She loved it! The exterior windows are actually garage doors that open when weather permits. Nice. I visited here for lunch with my wife and son. The staff is friendly, the space is modern, spacious, and clean. Overall my first impression was very good. The menu had typical Mexican-American fare with a handful of local specialties. My wife chose the Fajitas Texana and I had the Lunch Enchiladas filled with ground beef. The ground beef enchiladas were made with peppers and onions which was an unexpected nice touch. Between that and the style of sauce, it made them a bit sweeter than I like but they were still pretty good. The decried beans and rice were typical. My wife's fajitas were very good and were a very large portion. We probably could have shared it. We will definitely be returning. read more
