Went one time and walked out after tasting the salsa and chips. The salsa was warm and had a horrible taste. The chips were stale and after informing the waiter he brought new chips/ salsa out but it tasted exactly the same. Would not recommend this place and we would rather drive to Pensacola or Fort Walton to Tijuana Flats! read more

Restaurant waitress added a tip to my card that I did not authorize. Contacted restaurant on 5/20/2019 to correct but 5 days later the charge is still on my card. Why would a restaurant allow their staff to overcharge a customer improperly to begin with and then not fix the problem after stating they would do so?! My wife and I really wanted to like this place, it seemed so promising. The wait staff were the best part of the restaurant, welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The food was not great though, I ordered the jalapeño poppers, they were filled with Velveeta type filling, not my favorite way to have them. My Wife had the shrimp tacos, the shrimp were rubbery and hardly any seasoning, the taco shells fell apart, the soup that accompanied the meal had way too much salt. I had the steak quesadilla, it was only fair. My wife did have the watermelon margarita which was super sweet. I doubt we will be back, which is disappointing. Our server was Hannah, she greeted us promptly and with a smile. She was pleasant the whole meal experience. The rest is downhill from there for our experience. The decor is whimsical and lively, and there is more than enough seating. I would say this place is too big, the server sections are not kept small enough minimizing customer satisfaction. We had a large party of 12, our server should have only had our table. Anyone who has served, knows large parties require all your attention, this girl was over worked with other tables. Some of our party got their drinks promptly some took a while, one drink took almost 25 minutes to get delivered to the table. Our orders were slow in being taken, our food was slow to be served. The fresh guacamole was not prepared tableside as advertised and as traditional, but was at least tasty but lacked salt. The Al Pastor was a generous helping of onions, not much pork or pineapple and the pineapple was canned instead of fresh. The tortillas had been heated beyond recognition and were to tough to eat as they cooled. The pico was old, the tomato in it was limp and unflavorful. The free chips and salsa are uneventful as is the black bean paste they served. When I order a side of black beans, I would like whole black beans...not bean paste. The house margarita was made from sour mix instead of margarita mix. The menu here is absurd. Pick something and do it well. You should not have to offer 75 plate choices. Offer 12 and do them to perfection and the people will come! The only item this place offered that was pleasant was the live music, I enjoyed it very much. P.S. you should just change this into a bar/nightclub...you have the room available and Milton just doesn't need another 2nd rate Tex-Mex joint. read more

I have been a patron of El Paso in Milton, FL, ever since they opened. If you love authentic south of the border cuisine, this place is for you. I'll confess that some things are a little bit pricey, but anything you order will fill you to the gills. The flavors are the best. If you're dining on a budget, you can always order a la carte and it will curb your appetite. The fruity frozen margaritas can't be beat by anyone else. I love the strawberry and mango, and they're two for one after 2:00 p.m. The salsa and chips are no charge and it's some of the best I've ever had. We've been coming to this restaurant since it opened, but today we came in and our rice smelled of acetone (nail polish remover), and tasted of it as well. I told my waitress and let her smell it and she said she would talk to her manager. I watched her speak with her manager and walk back to the kitchen for a few minutes, and that was the last of it. We even saw other workers talking and laughing about it. She came and took our plates and put our check down on the table without saying any more than 5 words. The rice we ate did not taste right and instead of addressing the issue we were blown off and rushed out of the restaurant. El Paso is a pretty solid edition to the Pace/Milton area. Nice big dining space with good decor and flat screen TVs. Bar is also lined with TVs. Menu is a little more expensive for Tex Mex but not outrageous. I found the portions to be pretty generous. I had the lunch special Fajitas Tejanas which which well cooked and clean. It looked like a dinner portion size. Their 25 oz drafts for $4.99 are a great deal. Nothing better than drinking a chilled Modelo with your meal. Their Coronita was a treat. The service was great. I was immediately seated and my server was great. Even the manager on duty was getting his hands dirty. Meal came out in less than 10 minutes and was fresh off the stove. This place is middle of the road for me. I found the El Paso on plantation Rd near the mall in pensacola. Just excellent and everything we ordered was great. I fell in love with their El Carbon cheese enchiladas. I love mexican food but not a cheese enchilada fan except for El Paso's. Then they changed the recipe and I was done. The one on dogwood I did look forward to but ultimately disappointed. The change was their also. Their fajitas are cooked without tomatoes but available with a request. A 1st for me. The service is just OK. I will give them kudos for the salsa and chips. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea. Will try again (3 times now) but for now just ok. read more

First time visit to the new place. We are locals and support all Mom and Pop endeavors. We went in right after they opened. The place quickly filled up. Smoke was in the air and waitress (Sophie) explained that they had cleaned the grills/ovens. Do that before you open. Quickly served chips, salsa and bean dip. All quite good except the salsa was extremely warm. Put it in a chiller at least 20-30 minutes before opening. We had quesadillas and chicken nachos. Both were extremely good and we brought home half the nachos since there was so much. Sophie was very attentive and was at the table often. Manager came by and checked on us as well. We went to El Paso for the first time this evening. After reading the other reviews we really didn't know what to expect. Their prices are a bit higher than their near-by competition, but the food was better than expected. There were four of us and we all ate something different, I ordered the Enchilada and Taco combo and it was very tasty and filling. The others ordered a taco salad, chimichanga, pork carnitas. Everyone just loved their food. Only issue were the rude people sitting in the booth behind us. They were so active, at times it felt like we were riding in an 18 wheeler without a trailer. A table might have been the better option instead of a booth. read more

We were here today for lunch. Amazed that they actually had the door open before 11 am (their posted opening time) and we were welcomed and told to sit wherever we liked. We were immediately served a pitcher of water, nice warm chips and salsa, and in a matter of minutes our Server, Sophie, came over and welcomed us, answered a couple of questions re' the menu, and then took our order. Pitcher of Margarita - to die for. The food arrived promptly, nicely plated and very tasty, We were amazed at the well-seasoned meats, tender and simply scrumptious. Sophie can by several times to check on us - great customer service. Love this place. It has a nice family vibe. The waiters and waitresses are quick and attentive. Our food arrived quickly and our drinks were refilled often. The food is good. They have live music..it was so loud , I couldn't hear a word my husband was saying next to me. We both had grilled chicken salad. It was very salty, later that evening we both ended up sick to our stomach. I've been there two other times and both times order grilled chicken salad, with no problems. There black bean dip was not bad the first visit, second visit watery, third visit thick and tasted like Masa flour added to it. The salsa also tasted like Masa flour and strong chilli powder. Been twice now, Sophie was our waitress the first time and she was great. The second time, I didn't get her name but she was good, not great. The nachos are fantastic, had the bean and cheese the first time as I wasn't real hungry, but the tray they brought out would have fed me for 2 days! And they were delicious. The second visit was with a group for dinner just a few days ago and hubby and I split the nachos grande or whatever it was called with all the stuff on (the side) and they again were really great. The two of us almost couldn't finish them! Most of the others seem to enjoy the food too, so when I want nachos I will be back. Alcohol is not a factor for us, so that isn't important, but the service was decent, but a bit slow the second time but it was very crowded.
