Went here for dinner and order the chicken enchilada plate with rice and beans. They offer a red or green sauce, and when questioned, they said the green was less spicy. That should have given me a clue as to the heat temperature! I couldn't finish my meal as it was too spicy for me. I know I don't tolerate heat very well, so just offering this as a warning to others that might be in the same boat. Luckily they offered sopapillas and honey for dessert. The sweetness of the honey helped to soothe the sting. This location is in a strip mall and they have done a very nice job of decorating it. It looks clean and well maintained. You will need to order at the counter and then they will bring your meal out to your table. It seems to make sense that you would offer meals for all people, even ones like me that cannot manage the spice. I'm native from New Mexico and I think the food at Little Anita's is always on point. This is legit New Mexican prepared food with delicious red and green chili! The spice of the chili is perfect which has a great flavor and not too over bearing. Whenever I feel homesick or want some great comfort food this is where I come. I've introduced it to my friends and it has become a favorite place for them as well. The staff is always very friendly and it's never a long wait for the delicious meal to be delivered to your table! The prices are reasonable so that's great too! Used to be great. Gone downhill over the past 10 years. The pandemic and pivot to delivery services isn't being adapted to. Almost every time, I asked for red sauce on the side, or order a side of red. It costs an extra $1.50 for the side of chili. While having it delivered, at least five times all the sides are never included. This is even after leaving notes to please do not forget the sides. The notes are either not read or not understood. Please pay attention to the order in full from now on. It is unacceptable that this is a reoccurring behavior, especially with deliveries. Little Anita's is a no-frills, Southwestern Mexican restaurant with good food and outstanding customer service. The restaurant began in Albuquerque, and this is their lone Denver location. There is plenty of on-site parking and comfortable indoor seating, and they provide both dine-in and take-out service. Little Anita's survived COVID because they were pliable and had elite customer service. Pricing is VERY reasonable. My Way Better Half loved her chicken fajita and said it is consistently a great selection. Served with refried beans, pico de Gallo, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and three homemade flour tortillas. I enjoyed my Carne Asada Burrito de Mexico, a considerable portion with Spanish rice and beans, and I had them add Green Chile, which made it terrific. I'm so sorry to leave this review, but it had to be done. We came in for lunch and the service was friendly and fast. It wasn't very busy, like it usually is. Ordered and food came out really quickly. Sadly it didn't taste the same as it used to. The guacamole was really off and didn't even taste like avocado and was super shiny. My husband's food was warm at best and he said that it tasted like it was reheated. What was supposed to be crispy was mushy. Even the salsa tasted weird. I've been coming here for decades and can't believe the change in quality and flavor. We wonder if there are new owners or managers. Sadly we probably will never come back. I grew up in New Mexico but have lived in Seattle for most of my adult life. Every time I visit my parents it is obligatory to eat as much New Mexican food as possible. So when I took a trip to Denver and ended up staying close to this place I knew I had to check it out I ordered the huevos rancheros, eggs over medium, half and half red and green sauce. (I didn't check to see if they'd undertand if I ordered it "Christmas style.") It's pretty legit! The red chili is spiced pretty differently than is typical in New Mexico, but it was good all the same. And the green chili is spot on. The refried beans were great, too, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The papas were also good, and made a great base for the remaining sauce. My only (very minor) complaint is that the flour tortilla is pretty small and chewy, not the nice big and fluffy ones you'd get most places in Albuquerque. But this is still way better than anything I can get in Seattle, so I'm still super happy with it. read more

Sorry to write this review but it must be done! This place went from having the best pozole to the worse. I could have adjusted to the size being half of what it was and stopped there but the pozole is not the same. The meat was tiny bite sizes no flavor, and it looked to have rice in it. Not much to say about the flavor other than it had none. It no longer comes with sides ie., onion, lemon etc., but you do still get 2 small tortillas. Nothing about it would leave you saying YUMMY! We have ordered from this place a few times to go for my office. Their menu on their website is different than the site you have to order from. That part is a little frustrating. They don't offer things such as salads, soups an various tacos on their online ordering. Aside from this the place is great. I love their ground beef tacos and tamales. That is what I usually get. They give you a side of chile and man it is spicy sometimes. Be prepared for that one. The online ordering goes smooth and they are always quick with getting orders out the door. The taste of home. Having grown up in New Mexico, there are a few items for which I have a warm spot in my heart. A breakfast burrito with bacon and green chile is one of them. I can come to Little Anitas and get the flavors of home. The recipes they use are the exact same as the locations in New Mexico. Prices are very reasonable for the positions served. The service is always friendly and fast. Now that I live in Minnesota, having Little Anita's is a distinctly rare treat for me. Their stuffed sopapillas and desert sopapillas are incredible. You receive a sopapilla with each meal for free. I would also recommend some of their breakfast skillets. The woman at the cash register was so rude, it is hard to overstate. I ordered takeout, including one item with dietary modifications for my four year old. When I got the food home, my child's food was all wrong. I had to call, reorder, drive back there, and when I got there they asked to present the incorrect burrito, then argued with me about whether it was the right thing, then refused to give me a refund when I asked for one. I can't tell you how far an apology and a free kid's meal (normal restaurant practices) would have gone to make this very frustrating situation right, but instead I'm cautioning you to not go here.
