I had the beef empanadas which had a savory and tender shredded beef filling, and the cheese empanadas which had a perfect blend of crumbly soft cheese and pull apart stretchy mozzarella inside the same delicious crispy shell. The chimichurri totally elevated both, adding a fresh, spicy, and garlicky layer of flavor. I came here with my family and it was an absolute hit! It is not fancy by any means but the service was great and the food was absolutely amazing! Everything that got eaten at the table was loved. We shared the guacamole and plantain chips, calamari, and yuca fries as apps and all were delicious - but the fries are a must get. Then for dinner I ordered a top round sirloin steak and it was cooked perfectly with so much flavor. Took an inordinate amount of time to get rounds of drinks despite the restaurant being nearly empty Not sure if the waiter was the owners son but had to remind him numerous times of our orders. Literally my fave restaurant in the area. It can be hard to find authentic food in this area so when el patio opened my family jumped at the chance to eat there. It's been a few years I'd say since they've opened and still this place stays consistent in serving some great food. Wonderful service, great vibes, and really good drinks. I've come here for my birthday, for a drink after work, for take out, and to just get a good dinner and I've never been disappointed. Stopped in to try this place out and am so happy I did! Service was very friendly. I only ordered an Empanada and a Colombiana soda. The empanada stayed hot by the time I got home. It came with three sauces, a red/hot, a Mayo-based sauce, and a cilantro green one. I tried all three and enjoyed each one. Colombiana is one of my favorites so of course I had to get it. So excited to hear about a second Sabor A Colombia opening in Massapequa! I've always loved the location in Levittown and they've always been great, so I had very high hopes for this new one! First off, the restaurant's design is amazing! Huge bar, lots of tables, booths, and a nice outside patio area (which was actually set up for a party the night I came so it looked really good!) When we came in, it was packed - which made me super happy to see them doing well! The food, of course, was wonderful! Just like the Levittown location. Big portions, always hot and fresh, and delicious. The waitress was great and took our orders quickly and got the food out just as fast. We had the arroz con pollo, pechuga de pollo a la parilla, carne asada, and tostones con guacamole! Because they are new, the some of the waitstaff did seem a bit overwhelmed because it was so busy, but I believe that they all just need a bit more time to get used to it, but honestly no big complaints there! Sabor a colombia is a chain restaurant but doesn't feel like one. The menu is massive with tons of food to choose from from fish to pork and beef. They also have a huge selection of fresh fruit juices that the kids really loved and a great wait staff. The kids meals where really decent sized but you pay for it about $9 a platter. I ordered the typical dish which I always order from Colombian restaurants and it was spot on. The steak was flavorful and tender, the chicharonnes was really good and the fat melts in your mouth, rice and beans where extremely good too. My family and I went here today in the afternoon. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything I tried was flavorful and was cooked perfectly!! Be aware that you get A LOT for the price, so you may want to share with someone or take leftovers. Also, I highly recommend getting one of their fruit shakes with your meal! I got the guava with milk, but also tried the naranjilla with water. Both are good! I personally like them better with milk. Milk gives your drink more body and smoothness, but water makes it more refreshing. Overall this place was wonderful and was bustling with people on this nice Saturday afternoon!
