The Carne Asada Especial (I think)

Here's the deal. The menu isn't pretty and underplays the quality and quantity of the food. They're really wonderful here. Service, food, and laid back vibes, all of it.

Lovely service, atmosphere and food! Warmed my soul on a cold winter day. Will be back.

Good solid brunch/lunch spot with parking lot in the back! I met my friend here for pre-holiday gift exchange and lunch as it was midway between the two of us in terms of fighting holiday shopper traffic. I'm so glad we chose this spot! When we arrived, there were few open tables, but they quickly filled up! Argentina had just won the World Cup and the owner/manager got on the mic to cheers the winners over France. There was lively music played throughout our meal and families gathered for a delicious meal together. I had the spinach and cheese pupusa and a taco salad, and my friend ordered the beef enchilada. We, of course, started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. We probably ordered too much food but it was all very flavorful and better than we could have hoped for. I always think a pupusa will be small and not filling and then end up having too much to eat! I look forward to future visits here so I can try some of their camarones dishes!

Rarely do I have a scathingly negative review. Very interesting and authentic-looking menu. I ordered a michelada which was tasty and came with a spiced candy straw. it went downhill from there. 12 dollars for a michelada and no prices on the menu? There were a lot of side-eyes from the other patrons and restaurant staff when I came in. I wanted dinner, and it's on a busy road in Seattle. Relatively new, and I was intrigued to venture from standard Mexican fare. Everyone is welcome? Menu prices are very high for Central American fare in a diner-class restaurant. After ordering my drink, the waitress couldn't seem to understand anything I said in English or Spanish. She called someone else over. I explained I was vegetarian, and he stared. He asked if I wanted a burrito. Several pupusas options were all veg. I offered to have a few of those and pointed out the ones I wanted. He wandered off. 15 minutes later, he came back and asked me if I had decided. I decided I would pay for my drink and leave. All of the above, coupled with several drunk patrons, made for an unwelcome experience. I drove up to El Camion where the food was fresh, and reasonably priced, and the service is always friendly.

Central American spot on Aurora in North Seattle. We went in during lunchtime and were immediately seated. Our servers were helpful, friendly, and attentive, providing excellent service. We ordered only one entree since my friend told me that the last time he called the Desayuno especial, he couldn't finish it. We also ordered two pupusas to accompany our entree, unaware that a single pupusas came with the meal. My favorite team from the entree was the sausage. It had a lot of flavor. I also liked how all the other items added different tastes to it. Man, I loved the pupusas; they were soft and had lots of cheese. I do wish it had some other item besides cheese in it. Our meal was enough for two, and we had to take a pupusas or two home. Overall, I like this Central American spot and will try to come back to try other items on the menu.

Omg this was the best tradition breakfast I've had in a long time. Diego & Stephanie we're my servers and they did an awesome job. The plantains were so sweet, the crema paired well, and a little piece of the fresh cheese! The steak was tender, those beans may look runny but god damn the flavor was incredible. Everything on my plate was exceptional. Thank you chefs!

This was my first time trying pupusas and El Patio, but I absolutely loved everything I ordered. I ordered the Pupusas Revuelta, which you can choose from maíz (corn) or arroz (rice) flour. This particular pupusa is filled with cheese, pork, and beans. The pupusas are served alongside curtido (cabbage slaw) and tomato salsa. Each pupusa is $4.50 and for me, two pupusas was more than enough! The tamale was soft, rich, and flavorful and the same price as the pupusas. You can choose either chicken or pork as your protein. Each bite melted in my mouth and had the texture of almost butter. The Platano Frito is fried sweet plantain served with beans and cream. It was not too sweet and went well with the sides. I preferred eating it with the beans and didn't think the cream was necessary. This was a good portion for the price. I called in my order, but you can definitely order online via Grubhub for pickup and delivery. El Patio seems to have happy hour deals quite often and amazing drinks (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic). I'm interested in trying the Atol de Elote and Horchata de Morro. El Patio is located on the busy main street of Aurora Ave N, but I believe they have limited parking in the back.

What food delivery service do they use? I used to get them via bite squad but don't see it available now. Also, is it same menu as Tropicos Breeze? I loved the Aurora Tropicos Breeze!

I don't use delivery services but I do know the menu was the same.

It's a decent amount of biscuit with large chunks of ham and there plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the morning that isn't hustle and bustling like in downtown. I walked further to the metro bus stop down the street and was tempted to check the local dispensary on the next block but ran out of time. Their breakfast sandwich is literally $13 for a $5 sandwich. Today I had a simple drip coffee. This was $5.77 Then, you notice a jar for tips, and it has a sign that says, "You have already tipped, but jar is for more tips if you want to" So, yeah.... This means already damn expensive items having tipping built on top of the pricing, and the biggest issue is that you are tipping without your own choice, AND it is done before you have even received ANY service. Wait a minute.. there actually IS NO SERVICE. You order at counter. You operate the card reader yourself. The woman behind counter lifts a coffee pot, and pours it into your cup. That is literally all she does. Then you... go to the other counter to add your own cream. Nobody has come to my table to ask me if I want anything else, or how is everything, etc. Don't correct to clear your own table, because they have it set up for you to do that to. I forgot to mention the creamer was spoiled, so the coffee was not drinkable.

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

Overall, I would come back just for the sugarkelp pita because the other dishes are quite overpriced for what you get. The sugarkelp pita, as the name suggests, is a bit sweet and has seaweed. The umami and sweetness just works perfectly and the dip of carrot shmoo and salsa macha is addictingly good. The salmon bowl is a glorified rice bowl / bibimbap-like where you can make the bowl complete by mixing everything. The salmon is quite tender and fresh, but outside of that, for $36 it is quite steep, especially since the salmon is very tiny Service is okay - there is a lack of attention with water refills spilling the table and when I paid my card, the server placed the card directly on top of some food dropped in the table... but requests are fulfilled and food comes out at a relatively fast pace.
