My boyfriend and I went out for a New Year's date last night at Millers Tavern and we loved it! It was our first time in since moving to Methuen. The restaurant is spacious and has a variety of seating options, and was decorated nicely for the holiday season. We got to choose our booth, as it wasn't too busy, and we absolutely loved the service. Our server, Olivia, could not have been better - she was attentive but didn't stop by too often, knew what we needed before we even asked, and made our evening memorable. I ordered a creamy espresso martini which was so bomb. To eat, I had a side caesar (fantastic and perfect size) and the cast iron mac n cheese, which I liked but didn't love. It was a little liquidy for my taste and could've used a bit more flavor, but I enjoyed the crunchiness of the Ritz cracker topping. My boyfriend had the bbq steak tips, and to our delight, they were offering an all-you-can-eat steak tip deal, so he got an additional plate of tips to go for only ~$20 total. Needless to say he was a happy man lol. Final note is that we were obsessed with the playlist and the fact they had a pillow-fighting competition airing on the TV. Super entertaining. Great restaurant to have a good time at and to enjoy with friends. Plenty of seating and cool atmosphere. Nice amount of bar seating as well. Yummy selection on the menu from steak tips to lobster rolls. Basically something for all. I chose the lobster shrimp roll and Onion rings. It was so good. Drink selection was amazing. Miller's Tavern is a great place to gather and share a meal in Methuen, MA. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including many choices for those who are gluten-free. I thought I would give them another try. I really wanted to like this place. To start, the Extra Local Burger was not medium rare., it was cold, and the bun was so soggy it was disintegrating. Maybe if they allowed substitutions you could say no lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles, which could prevent this! Second the fries were dry, cold and were refried or just old. Lastly the Maple Bacon Scallops. The flavor would have been fine if they also werent cold, and the scallops werent dry. My advice to the chefs is to take some pride in your food. I had the most incredible experience at Millers Tavern last night. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but the real standout of the evening was the bartender. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel genuinely welcome--super friendly without being pushy, attentive without hovering!!! I asked if there were any winter drinks, and let me tell you the one she crafted was absolute perfection. You could tell she was thorough and thoughtful with flavor combinations, the beautiful presentation, and her confidence behind the bar made it such a joy to just watch her work. The "oatmeal cookie" was absolutely delicious!! Beyond the skill, her personality truly made the night. She was super engaging, upbeat, and clearly loved making sure guests had a great experience. It's rare to find someone who can balance professionalism with such an easy, and fun charm. I would come back just to sit at that bar again. Especially if Angelica is working! Went for lunch today and received terrible service with mediocre food. Waitress/host was always missing. Dropped off water and gone for 10 minutes before we can give our order. Dropped off food and never came back to see how the food was or needed drink. Burger ordered medium and was well done. The slice of tomato was thicker than the burger. The chicken salad wrap was dry and nothing memorable. My friend needed to go and didn't get to take his leftovers as the waitress was nowhere to be found. I had to ask the other waitress to get our waitress for the bill and a takeout box. Also, the restaurant was not busy... They had pay by scanning the code on the invoice. I paid that way and again didn't see the waitress anywhere in the dining room when I walked out. Don't think I'm going back due to the poor service. read more

My Nashville chicken sandwich was not typical of the genuine article - the spice is from raw sliced jalapeño, with a dressing on top rather than cooked with the chicken. Met a friend here for dinner. Looking at their menu, I had pretty high expectations for this place, and was a bit disappointed. Maybe the experience wasn't as mediocre as it feels... just that I was hoping for more and it fell short. Service was definitely lacking (slow, didn't top off beverages often). It was pretty quiet when we were there, so a bit odd that food took so long. Two of us ordered the seafood casserole, and one order of a taco special. Tacos were quite petite, such that my wife picked off my plate (most of my mashed potatoes). Seafood casserole was meh, not a lot of flavor, I wouldn't order it again. It's a convenient location, right off the highway and across the street from the AMC Theater (if you're looking for non-chain food in that area). Ordered food from here to go. I ordered chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. It says it comes with 6 tenders I got 3. They were like half a chicken breast so I am not sure if that's why I only got 3 or they just shorted me. They bread them with panko or some kind of Coating and it's a nice touch. Great crunch from it. That's where it ends. There is absolutely ZERO seasoning on the tender. Like none. So thank God it comes with sauces. The bbq was a very good one. 8 out of 10 on the sauce. The mashed potatoes were a solid 7 out of 10. It came with weird lettuce and carrots and celery like I had ordered wings but no ranch so that sucked. Would I order again. Sure. Food is mid. They charged my card twice and it took multiple calls, voicemails and an email to get a refund almost a week later and no one even followed up on what happened. Unfortunately this bar does not know how to treat their patrons. Especially the bartender! When an intoxicated man at the bar begins to harass two ladies at the bar, you should ask him to leave. These ladies did nothing wrong, they were out trying to catch up. It cost a lot of money to go out to dinner these days and there is nothing worse than a hostile environment. This man reached over and began to eat off of the woman's plate and when he left he said he would be waiting for her in the parking lot. The staff did nothing and never asked the man to leave. They're lucky these woman didn't call the police. Learn to treat your patrons with respect. The staff did get them new meals but at this point they were not going to eat the food. The staff seemed to be mad at them, when they did nothing wrong. They tried to avoid the man harassing them. I do not recommend this restaurant. Save your money and eat somewhere else. read more

I can honestly say this was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been too. It was a busy Sunday around 11am and everywhere our large party of 15 plus called we were told they were too busy, long wait and couldn't accommodate except when we called here. They said there was no wait and plenty of room which should have been first red flag. The service was good, the wait time was not but let that ride out since it was such a large amount of people. Well that went out the window when the actual food came. First off, chicken tender app they could not toss the tenders in two sauces so had to put on side which was weird. Then they were the most flavorless restaurant depot chicken tenders I have ever had. It was chicken with panko breading. Not even the seasoned panko just the plain panko!! Next when asking if the onion rings were fresh we were told they were frozen. Bad signs. Then the food came out. Nashville hot chicken sandwich, two were ordered and two were sent back. A weird sauce was put on top of a plain chicken breast with a pepper. The haddock was a flavorless frozen piece of fish. All 15 people had issues with their meals and had food sent back. I am so shocked of my experience tonight. I have been to millers well over a handful of times and today was the worst visit I've had. Service was extremely slow for a quiet night but I saw waiters taking lunch/break. Took us a long time to get our drink orders in and receive them. the food was just okay. Husband ordered southwest chicken alfredo pasta -there was nothing southwest about it. Completely plain. Lacked even salt. And the kitchen seemed to run out of garlic or garlic bread as he was served thick white bread. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were overly seasoned nothing crazy to complain out. Came here after running a 5k because I remember seeing an ad for their special valentine's day drinks. For those that know me, I can't resist anything involving Chocolate Cherry, which was one of their drinks. The other drink I got, I believe was wine with cotton candy on top. Apparently, the cotton candy was supposed to go inside the drink, and not eaten separately. For lunch, I ordered the Cowboy Pub Steak and there's alot going on with this dish. There's mashed potatoes on the side, veggies and onion rings on top of the steak. Which I ordered medium, but tasted the charcoaled, cooked too long taste until I got to the middle. When I ate it later at home, it tasted much better cold than when I ate at the restaurant. Again, it's a handful, so I suggest you eat something after finishing this dish instead of before. read more

Been a regular customer there for years, spent thousands of dollars there only to see them fire two people recently who were extremely hard working and kept the place running. You will however see the manager lurking around doing nothing drinking beer - hmmm, wonder why she is still there? I've seen the number of customers there dwindling and its management causing the issue (actually lack there of). Seems the owner too stupid to realize! Time for a change - we're moving on to a new place. We hope the manager has enjoyed running this place into the ground. Angelica was one of the worst servers I've had in a restaurant. Super inattentive and had an attitude from the first interaction. My girlfriend and I both got chicken sandwiches and the chicken was so tough and grizzly it was inedible. Not the servers fault and I understand that but when notifying her after having to get another server to have her come over she was very condescending and unsympathetic and although I offered to pay for the sides she stripped us of our food as I was eating my sweet potato fries. I hope the $20 tip we left out of pity will go towards a pair of pants instead of the booty shorts she was wearing. read more

We rdturned to Miller's since they recently reopened mid- COVID. We sat inside as the patio and porch were full. We noticed that the lamps over the table were quite dusty and had some cobwebs. Meals: I had the seafood cassarole which was hot and cooked nicly. My side of mash was barly warm, as was my veg. Hubs had the shephards pie which was terrible. It has a "old" sour taste like it had been sitting in a freezer for 3 months. The veg in it was tough and dried out. Service was decent,. We may wait a long while before we return. read more
