    Chips, salsa, Guacamole - Small

Arrived today about 2:45 pm. My order was to perfection. I has A cheese filled chili relleno, cheese enchalada with sour cream sauce. However, my husband ordered a chicken fried steak with fries and the waiter brought him a fried chicken salad. Not sure how that happened. We enjoyed our meal. Before we left I went to the ladies room. Sign saying to put all toilet paper into the trash not toilet. Big trash container next to the toilet - full with a stuck lid. Icky Ick! NO SOAP, NO PAPER TOWELS! How are employees washing their hands before bringing our food? If we get sick, I think I know the problem. We won't be back thank you!

Starting with the salsa. We asked for two more bowls. I ordered a spicy Margarita. It was the best I've had in forever. Not too spicy or sweet, very pretty. The Beef Crispy Chili Relleno was right on. My husband ordered the Stuffed sopapilla, it was good but liked mine better. We ordered a sopapilla for dessert. It was awesome too. Could have eaten another. Service was great as well

Haven't been here in awhile...might be one of the cleanest restaurants in Amarillo..even salt and pepper shakers were clean. Both ordered two enchiladas with Queso...yum. Chips were fresh and hot sauce is the best!

Stopped by on the way back from a road trip and was craving enchiladas. I guess here you cannot mix and match your enchiladas and when asked if I could get one of each (red/green/sour cream) our server said "depends on who's in the kitchen". I don't know how that is helpful, I'm a server and I would've said something like, "Let me go check if we can do that for you". The enchiladas were good, not the best I've had, wouldn't say delicious but good enough. The rice on the plate was better than the enchiladas actually. Also ordered the Barbacoa tacos. It was gross. Meat was very chewy, unflavored/unseasoned, didn't look appetizing at all, texture was just UGH. Definitely have had better and seen better, it was uneatable. I guess barbacoa is a hit or miss at some places and here was a definite miss, their asada meat was better. Pineapple Fresca was decent. Also, our server was unenthusiastic with us and very monotone but we saw him happily and enthusiastically greet and serve the table next to us. I asked for a knife and salsa rojo and he came back when I was already on my last enchilada. Made us feel like we were treated a bit different because we looked like we would tip less than the party next to us.

The lunch specials were pretty reasonable and the service was great. The food was pretty good. The Chile Relleno was very tasty, as were the Shrimp Enchiladas. The salsa was pretty generic, though. I don't know if it's homemade or not. I ordered a side of green sauce, and it was a lot better than the salsa and had a lot more spice. The rice and beans were tasty, and yes we found out that those can, actually be messed up from other experiences. All in all, it's a 4 star, mostly based on the Chile Relleno and green sauce. Updated my review as I've been back a few times. This has become our Mexican night place. Kids eat free on Mondays, which is a nice bonus.

Taco which was part of the combination plate I had! Fresh garnishments and lots of meat!

Absolutely EXCELLENT food! I almost am leery of telling people about it so they won't get too crowded! But all of the food was fresh, came out in a great presentation. Was tasty and a good amount on the plate for the money. Cold beer, great tasting, filtered water and clean and inviting atmosphere. Wonderful and attentive servers. Was an excellent experience. My son had just gotten home from Las Vegas in which the food was all disgusting and overpriced (especially the Mexican cuisine) and going to El Patron was a perfect way to redeem his faith and ours too in great, authentic and worthwhile Mexican food! You will not be disappointed! The waitress was accommodating and kept our drink glasses and chips and hot sauce filled. This will be a regular go to for our family! And it was an excellent experience on a Monday!

For lunch during one of my days visiting Amarillo, I tried Yellow City Street Food off Wolflin. Inside, the space is cute. They have yellow chairs, pink walls, and cool artwork scattered throughout. When we ordered, the server was very helpful with recommendations and helped us land on what we ultimately chose. They also have a chef's daily special that rotates every day, and you never really know what he could be cooking up. The day we went, the special was Pad Kee Mao, which my girlfriend ordered with their fried tofu. As for me, I got their tacos. The first was their Hulk with jerk chicken, cotija, pineapple, and more, and the second was their Al Pastor with pork, crema, chile rojo, and more. Both came out looking fantastic and were absolutely crushed by me. One thing I noticed on their menu is their vast selection of vegan options. Most meat options usually have a vegan alternative with a specific replacement for the meat. For the Hulk, it's chickn soy curls, and for the Al Pastor, they use jackfruit. It's super innovative and very welcoming to vegan and vegetarian diners. I really like this approach instead of throwing the same meat substitute on everything. Knowing what works best with each dish can really make or break it. We also ordered a side of their Salt and Pepper Fries to share, which were well cooked, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I enjoyed the pepper seasoning on these quite a bit. To drink, we tried their blueberry pomegranate tea, which was delicious. I really liked my food here and, of all the places I tried in Amarillo, I would say this is definitely one of the best. It's unique without overdoing it, and you'll leave with a good meal in your stomach if you give them a shot. RIYL: Tacos, burgers, or honestly just about anything. They've got it all here.

I had the imposter with breaded mushrooms. Super crispy Cremini mushrooms with great crunch but the rest was kinda meh, romaine and drizzle of sauce and balsamic. At least with the pickled onions there was a little palate tease. Also tried the Al pastor with jackfruit. Opted for this version on a salad and it's a whopping serving size. Hearty serving of jackfruit with plenty of sauce and dressing. Had nice little nibs of some crunch too. Service was super, super nice. I'd call the inside dive-ish. Totally relaxed and chill ambiance. I'll be back to try more items! My one dislike was that I don't care for the balsamic drizzle on either dish... just doesn't pair well with these flavors. Side of pineapple was yummy to balance the heaviness of both dishes.

The neat thing for me personally is that they offer "mini bowls" and all the toppings like queso, guac and sour cream are free. I can never eat a full bowl at chipotle. And every single time I've gone the guacamole is nice and cold, not room temperature, and fresh which I am a a huge stickler about. Service for me has been super fast without a dip or compromise in freshness and quality. And it also doesn't break your bank. I highly recommend you try it out.

Unlike Chipotle, when you order to go or for delivery, they seem to give you less food. I would definitely recommend they have many protein options as well as sides.
