Decided, since I live so close to this establishment, it's about time to try it. Located in a small shopping center is El Pollo Amigo. The establishment is clean and very plain. It is a typical fast food type of Mexican restaurant. The service was nice & really helped with my meal choice. I took home the monster burrito(added sour cream) For the burrito, it was simple and generic. I do want to say that the white chicken put in the burrito was good. The rice & beans was plain. The burrito was drenched with red sauce & cheese. Again, tasted generic & can find this type of taste at most Mexican restaurants. The chips were solid & the salsa was a nice sweet salsa that worked with the crunchy tortilla chips. Overall, I thought the meal was average. The taste has been duplicated multiple times. The chicken was yummy. I think the 3 stars is proper. It's not great and not bad, it's average. Also, I was a little shocked to rack up a bill of $10.58. I don't think the meal matched the price. El Pollo Amigo has offered fantastic tasting food with great consistency for many years. I have even driven across Los Angeles to eat from here several times since I've relocated from the Valley. Alas, the nightmare has become a reality. A few weeks ago, I picked up several Maria's Salads and found that they were no longer edible. It's one thing to go from great to mediocre. It's a whole other thing to go from great to vile. I immediately knew that this experience transcends the undrstandable occasional quality control issue any place may have from time to time. And so, I decided to call and ask the question... "Is the place under new ownership?" and the answer was "Yes, for 2 months now". The associate proceeded to tell me that nothing has changed... I found them on yelp and wanted something new. I'm very happy I came here for lunch. Around 1 the place is empty so I ordered nachos and sat down. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are sanitary to sit at. It took about 6 minutes for the nachos to arrive and I was pleasantly satisfied when they were done. The sour cream, avocado, and jalapeños were on the side which I think is great for customization and preference; also good to use it as dip. The nachos had beans, steak, and cheese on it; all of which were flavorful and worth my money. I am happy I came here and will come again! read more

This place is really good . When I mean really good , I mean price , quantity , quality , and location . I usually get the muscle combo which is under ten bucks and feeds two people basically or one hungry person . The other stuff is amazing but the chicken really does stand out with that amazing flavor . Definitely recommended . If I were solely rating the food, I would give them 5 stars. I love the food here! Everything I've tried has been delicious. Unfortunately, their prices are insane... They keep going up like the rest of the world right now. I get it. But $15 for a chicken quesadilla is ridiculous! And you have to pay for chips... Even if you just want a small amount. I'm so full as I write this... we all just pigged out and here are our findings: The Pros: Really good chips & salsa, crunchy beef tacos, chicken monster burrito was huge and tasty. I'm normally not a chicken person, as most places don't know how to make it where it isn't dry. Here it was very moist and tender. Bonus: The inside of the restaurant seemed really clean as well which was a huge plus for me. The Cons: Kind of expensive for a little hole in the wall. Best chicken in the West Valley! love the service and the food is great. We have tacos almost every Tuesday. I personally love the chicken salad in the tortilla bowl. Serious yum here! Perfect for those coming from Bell Canyon, where everything is at least a 15-20 Drive. Chicken was fresh off the grill. Staff was great with service. And the hard shell tacos were near perfect with zero grease. The only thing missing was a hotter salsa. But overall it was delicious. I'll definitely be back! read more

Passed by this establishment, the name was pretty catchy saw all the good reviews my boyfriend and i decided to try it. They have really good chicken chimichangas and and the nachos were okay. The people that leave negative reviews on this place are missing brain cells. I have been coming to El Pollo Amigo for years, Its a small business ran by local family. The chicken is amazing and my go to meal is the B B meal, which is always prepared fresh. I occasionally get the tostada salad or the burrito and for the price and quality you can't beat it. I eat here multiple times a week, wether its at the restuarant or for pickup. I highly recommend it for a homestyle dish and great service. read more

I grew up a couple blocks away and used to get food here a lot. The owner, Waldo was a great guy and I moved away so I haven't eaten here since he passed away. I decided to get some chicken, I got the three piece white meat. I got one small breast and three tiny wings with barely any meat on them. It cost 7.99. Honestly, it was a rip off. It was expecting at least a couple breasts so that was disappointing still being hungry after eating. I'm ok with never going here again. Also, there's no place to wash your hands. They have 2 purell stations with paper towels. Unbelievably rude. I had a bad experience here. I walked in and was on the cell phone. I immediately apologized explaining I got an important call. I had written my order on a piece of paper and handed it to the girl working. She immediately got angry and annoyed and said "What is this ?" and read it. She seemed very annoyed and asked me if I wanted flour or corn tortilla - I answered flour and she blurted out - "I can't do this - just write out what you want" in a loud angry voice.
