    Pescado a lo macho
    Michelle L.

We came for Saturday lunch. It was a recommendation from my Peruvian friend. The food was very good and the portions were large. The sangria was sweet and refreshing like juice. The papas a la huancaina was yummy and comforting. It came with slices of boiled egg. The seafood rice came with slices of pickled shallots. The pescado a lo macho had a delicious sauce that came with aji verde and white rice.

Whole Chicken, Ceviche mix, arroz amarillo y arroz Chaufa

I have to say, food delicious, the ceviche was good 9/10, the yellow rice was good. But the Arroz Chaufa was extremely good. Order it .. My only problem was the portion. I was still hungry ‍. We ordered a whole chicken, however it had no flavor, Based on what the waitress said, us Caribbean people use a lot condiment which is flavorful for her. So I guess thats how They do it in Peru. The chicken was well cooked but no flavor, no sauce on the side for the chicken either. Ambiance was good, calm area and highly clean.

    Cockroach in drink!

Be aware! Cockroaches in your drinks! Long story short, two of our drinks came with cockroaches flooding on them and the waitress had the nerve to state that it was part of the stem of an apple. You can clearly see legs and antenas of the cockroach! And then getting an attitude from the waitress for stating the obvious! Do not recommend this place!

Food is incredible. Chicken is so tender and juicy. Salchipapas, Jalea, and Lomo Saltado always hits the spot. Yes, their service isn't stellar but you're here for the amazing food at very affordable prices. Blows Pio Pio outta the water. Peruvian food is one of my faves and I'm thrilled to live near this joint. That aji verde is spicy and flavored wonderfully. A true testament to Jackson Heights as a Latin culinary haven.

Love it! Especially the green sauce. I think it's called Aji Verde. Will definitely go back soon.

I haven't been here in years & decided to go on Good Friday, it was packed around 4pm and the food & red Sangria was still so good , the waitress disappeared for about 30 mins & she gave us one napkin but besides that it was a nice experience.

Food and service here are excellent. Came here with a party of 4 and got our food within 10-15 minutes! Finding parking around this area wasn't as painful as expected either. Papa de la Huancaína which is boiled potatoes with a creamy yellow sauce (a little bit spicy). It is served cold and is a nice appetizer to share with the table. Next we had Jalea. This had fried fish filet pieces (boneless), squid, yuca, shrimp, and onions. Everything except for the onions was covered in a batter. The onions were refreshing and covered in a lemon or lime juice. This dish is deeeeelicious. Additionally, we had a purple corn juice. It was not made in store and honestly I wouldn't get it again. We got the shaved ice cream called Lucuma. On the website for El Pollo Inka Peru, this dessert is described as "an exotic Andean tropical fruit high in vitamin B3 and carotene". Plenty of seating on squeaky chairs, but it means it's authentic. There's also a TV and bathroom! I'm looking forward to going back and trying the soup and more dishes.

Giving this place 5 stars because I've never had a problem with it. I didn't want to be a food snob and say sometimes my peruvian grandma makes these dishes better but I always love what I get when I'm here. Today I went to lunch with my family where we shared a Ceviche Mixto, with everything tasting fresh. My sisters shared a Tallerines Verdes which wasn't bad. for anyone who doesn't know what it is, it's a creamy pesto sauce with linguini. I had Pescado a lo Macho which is one of my favorites. That's a fried fish filet in a yummy sauce. I wouldn't be able to tell you what kind of sauce but honestly try it. They top it with shrimp, squid, calamari, some crab and or mussels. I almost always get it because it's not something my family makes at home. It's amazing here. Fish is always soft.

Been to plenty of Peruvian places. Even just got back from a trip to Lima. And I'd still take this Lomo Saltado over the others.

The service was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered several appetizers, including anticuchos, rachi, and salchipapas. Everyone enjoyed them, especially the salchipapas. For my main course, I had the tallarín verde with steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, but I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning. My husband ordered the goat stew, which he really enjoyed. If you're looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine, this is a great place to visit. One of the highlights for me was the chicha morada, don't skip on ordering that drink it was absolutely delicious and one of my favorite parts of the meal.

The purposeful interior design of this restaurant sets it apart from other JH restaurants. Food: Mini Jalea is definitely a showstopper, there's nothing mini about it. Lightly crispy and perfectly flavored . The Lomo Saltado skirt steak was delicious and tender, the sauce was sooooo yummy. The tallarines verdes was good, it tasted like pesto! The grilled chicken thighs on top of it was also fantastic. Service was solid. No notes, it was an all around 5 star dining experience.

We ordered: * two whole chickens * lomo saltado * 5 ribs * yuca * 2 orders of maduros all for $85 cash. Chicken was great, it was juicy, steaming hot, and well seasoned on its own. The lomos saltado was our least favorite dish since it did not taste good and the meat was very bland. Ribs were not bad, some pieces were pretty soft. Overall we would definitely come back just for the chicken because it was so tender and soft.

Sadly, those days are long gone, and it's now obvious why. The quality has gone way downhill. The chicken portions are noticeably smaller, but that's not even the worst part. What really shocked me was how I was treated when trying to make a simple, health-conscious request. I attempted to order two white meat meals, as both my mother and I have cholesterol issues and cannot eat dark meat. I was told I had to order a mix of white and dark meat, that they "don't allow" two white meat meals. Even after explaining the health concerns, they still refused. The only "solution" offered was to buy a half chicken (with dark meat we can't eat) and then purchase an additional quarter white meat. On top of that, they tried to charge me an extra $3 for it. Being told what I can and cannot order especially when it relates to a health issue is absurd. And trying to sneak in extra charges for a workaround that they forced on me? That's just bad business. This place has lost its heart and its standards. If you're thinking about coming here ...don't. There are far better spots that actually care about their customers

The sangria here is also the perfect amount of liquor to juice. But we only wish that there were more fruits. The desert, alfajor, was baked just right. It's tough to find a good alfajor but this place has one of the best in the areas. This is a small restaurant so get there early and give it a try. It is a great place for Peruvian food!
