Every single time i come here they forget something, or tell me something isn't working and they don't have chicken, or beans, or rice. Does this have anything to do with the fact that they close at 10:30 and when i go there it is 9pm? Every single time. This is the worst el pollo loco I've ever been to. The drive thru is always long & you will be waiting at least 20-30 min every time. & you have to practically beg for salsa! & every time I get home something is always missing in my order so you need to actually sit there & look through the bags before driving off. Oh & the salad bowls are just lettuce bowls sprinkled with the minimum trimmings so gross! I'd rather make the drive to another location because it's not worth the hassle for dried out chicken. read more

They had no spicy green avocado sauce. All of the chicken was burnt, over cooked and dry. My broccoli was so dry I couldn't eat it. The chicken we got was small and unappetizing. I wouldn't recommend this place. I would rather drive a little farther to another location. read more

I ordered an original pollo bowl with NO chicken and as I get home and mix the ingredients together I find what appears to be a very pink, very raw piece of chicken. It would have been nice to enjoy my food but instead I found it to be completely inedible for me since it had meat in it. 1 star for 1 star service. It's astounding to see that these people even have jobs at this establishment. We ordered a few specific things that we wanted and the clerk had the nerve to contradict us about our order. That is not how you employ customer service. We obviously had our entire meal incorrect and nobody even apologized for it or wanted to help. Lastly, when it comes to the treatment of clientele, it should be obvious that servers should be respectful and courteous. But clearly, those rules are not advocated here. What a disgrace. My wife and I went to this location for dinner. My wife ordered the 3pc breast and wing combo. The cooking on the breast were inconsistent. One seemed undercooked. It was tough to remove the meat from the bones.. The other breast was dry. The tortillas that they gave us was cold. The mini bar was out of the avocado sauce. They gave us some that are given to the drive thru customers. The avocado sauce was sour and not very pleasant. It tasted like it was made a few days ago. We did not enjoy our dinner. I do not recommend this location. Will never go to this location again. We both had stomach problems, to say the least, when we arrived home. read more

This review is off their customer service. The cashiers are so friendly and happy. Each time when I go to order if there is a way to make my order cheaper they let me know up front and inform me that they are always there to help the customer save money. I was disappointed again. I have been here a few times but this last time was the worst! The food we received looked like it had been sitting out and thrown in a box. We received a gift card for Christmas and were excited to get one of the $20 meals. I ordered it, with rice, corn and tamales. The rice was so dry, the chicken reminded me of the turkey Chevy Chase cut into on Christmas vacation. No joke! It was that bad. Oh, I can't forget the soup. Normally the soup is great at other locations but the chicken was dry. Dry chicken in soup?!We waisted our gift card on sub standard food. Never again. Over all very disappointed at this location. An employee from the back yelled at our cashier "there are no more carnitas!!", even though they have it advertised all over the location. Showed up tonight during dinner rush and they are behind on chicken (apparently running out of chicken?!?!), drive thru line is backed up with 9 cars and not moving, several orders botched and people unhappy. I have been trying to watch what I eat lately, I was intrigued by El Pollo Loco's under 500 calories menu, especially the double chicken avocado salad. I ordered it at this location, only to find out when I got home they actually gave me the Ultimate Double Chicken bowl which is almost THREE TIMES as many calories! 900 compared to the 380 of the bowl I originally wanted. I heard the girl behind the counter say something like, "its okay its the same price" when one of the other employees questioned the order. I used to come here all the time, no issues. Then one night i came to get some dinner, they took my order at the speaker. When i drove up, they say they are out of chicken and they are currently having an inspection. Mind you, this is around 7:00pm dinner time. So they ask me to wait in the parking lot. I literally waited 30 mins until i finally went inside and asked for my refund. They said OH we have chicken now.. So they still charged me for it and then gave me my chicken.. AWESOME JOB GUYS! Ordered a Double Chicken Avocado salad on Friday night. Almost finished it until I kept chewing and chewing my salad in my mouth. My teeth could not break up the lettuce so I took it out of my mouth and there was a piece of paper the size of a wet wipe. I was so disgusted. They did not answer their phone so went back. The mgr was less than pleasant. Refunded my $$ then a quiet "I'm sorry". Not good!!!! If I would have swallowed this it would have caused a blockage and I would have had more issues with this establishment. It was the paper in between the avocado he said. (They forgot the avocado in my salad but the paper made it in there). He didn't seems annoyed or surprised by my visit either. I almost chock on the chicken bone while I was eating my burrito so I went to tell the cashier and she looked at me like I am making this up. The manager also didn't say anything not even sorry. My wife and I had lunch there today. It was TERRIBLE - - the service was absolutely horrible (not rude, just WAY disorganized and inefficient.) The girl behind the counter started to take my order, then interrupted to do something else, came back, and we had to start all over again. I ordered two breasts and a wing, and she said she had to make sure that they HAD that (gracious, there must have been the remains of at least a dozen chickens on the grill!!! ) They gave me their little pager which started buzzing almost immediately. I went to the counter and watched what seemed to be a three ring circus for FIVE minutes, and of course my meal wasn't ready at all. By then, the staff had completely lost track of who had ordered what, and there were several patrons trying to get their orders reconciled. A young lady behind the counter asked if I wanted to give her my pager, and I replied that I'd be happy to trade it for my order, but I'll just keep it out here on the counter making noise until then, thank you very much. When they finally DID get our order handed to me, they gave us one set of utensils for two meals... MORE waiting. The food itself was lousy. I ordered three piece chicken breast and wing, which was way overcooked (to the point of charring) and dried out. My wife ordered a chicken tostada salad; the chicken was dried out and overcooked, and the tostada was burned to a very dark brown, nearly black. The salsa had too much lime in it. Except for the restroom, the restaurant was dirty - - every table and counter had food residue on it. There is an El Pollo Loco in Diamond Bar that is pretty good, so my expectations were high, but man, this Brea store is really awful. Too bad, they have a great location; I hope the store management realizes what a mess they have and straightens it out. I'll never eat there again, but they could at least straighten it out for future customers. read more

Don't ever go here on your lunch break. There is always a long line and they take forever to give you your food. I don't know why it takes so long; when you order, they rush you through and barely give you a chance to speak. Then when you do get your food, it's practically thrown at you and is rarely what you've ordered. Forget complaining to a manager, they blame it on you. This place is a joke. read more
