I just want to note that at this location I noticed a very nice man with what appeared to be his wife and children asking if he could order with an attendant and the employee wearing a headset who looked like a manager or supervisor told him "no." Staff members were very friendly and efficient, and I noted that 100% of patrons, including me, avoided ordering at the available kiosk, instead opting to talk to a live person. We shared an 8-piece Legs & Thighs Family Meal;, with large sides of Pinto Beans and Mashed Potatoes, along with appropriate Brown Gravy. The citrus-marinated legs and thighs were very tasty. And Green Salsa with a kick and mostly mild Red Salsa with a finishing kick added some punch to the beans enfolded in Flour Tortillas. For me the gravy enhanced the Mashed Potatoes. You can really tell the effects for the minimum wage. When you walk in, you are not greeted, you order through a kiosk. Then when you want a cup for water, the people behind the counter greet you and tell you it will be just a moment, and then you wait. I saw the cups, and took them myself. Holy cow there are a lot of fast food restaurants offering up "Mexican" fare. If given a choice we often will chose El Pollo Loco over others mainly because the food is consistently good. Such was the case here. We came for one thing and one thing only: The chicken Tostada: Yes the shell is unhealthy but most of the filling were pretty good. The flame grilled chicken has a bit more taste than the other places have to offer. They use whole pinto beans rather than that ubiquitous brown paste many other use. The greens were fresh, and the pico de gallo and sour cream struck a proper balance with the rest of the fillings. The cilantro dressing tied it all together. My only issue is that in the quest to please the bland masses their hot sauce is simply not that hot. One of the better ones for sure unlike the one on Sterling and Highland Avenue do not go to that location with that being said this is one of the best locations to customer service is pretty decent. Actually the food seems very fresh. The place is clean. definitely worth stopping in. By the way, I hate to speak about the other location on Highland Ave., Sterling I did notice over there for example, when you get chicken like a chicken bowl or whatever they gave you shredded pieces of chicken at this location.
