Smaller location and the food is still good as expected. You can still watch the employees flipping and smoking the chicken. Not much seating, but ample parking and drive-thru. High quality features Less than 100 steps from the Euclid trolley transit Self-serve drinks Bathroom does not require a code or key (yet) Tostada chicken salad Clean (Hey community let's keep it that way) Mobility accessible Employees that smile when they greet you

Looks like they just opened for about one year, because I don't remember they ever here when I used to shop at Food 4less across the street, there is still construction going on, their drive thru was long, with very little parking, and super busy traffic around this shopping plaza and the trolley tracks were just not ideal for me, I went inside to check out everything, the design was very compact like a small alley squeezing as many stuffs as they could, also I am surprised they didn't accept EBT payment, I've been to multiple locations, further North from OC to LA areas, they take your EBT, but not here, in this low income margins, maybe they should do it in the future, unless this one is privately owned.

Ordered my food, payed in both cash and Apple Pay. Handed them the cash and they said I didn't pay the rest when I showed them I did. Said If their register doesn't open I didn't pay. Didn't get my money back or my food

I have eaten at Hattie B's, Roscoe's, the OG Chick-fil-A, Cane's, Dave's Hot Chicken, and the Crack Shack; this spot is beyond comparison. It cannot be beat. The owners and management are extremely attentive and friendly. There is no such thing as bad customer service here. My go to is the Classic Side Chick with their house spicy aioli on the side. The Hot Chick is VERY spicy. I can handle heat, but having the sauce on the side is much more enjoyable in my opinion. You get to appreciate the crispy chicken, the fresh toppings, and the sandwich as a whole without the spice overpowering everything. If you're looking for a spot that consistently delivers a great chicken sandwich, this place absolutely hits the mark.

Came in a few days ago and had the shrimp, mac n cheese, potato salad. My friend had the shrimp too with side of Turkey & cabbage and rice and gravy. We both enjoyed everything except the potato salad. Potato salad was sweet and made with relish (not our style of potato salad we prefer) The shrimp was delicious, large, seasoned and fried well. The catfish was good but not as good as the shrimp. They mac & cheese was the best I've had!!! We also had the peach cobbler and it was soo very tasty. My only regret is not getting it with ice cream. 2 days later I went back with my kid to try the chicken tenders, fries, egg rolls, and get some more Mac & Cheese. Chicken & fries were seasoned good. I just wish they had an option for spicy seasoning. The Mac & Cheese we fought over and it was gone quick. We'll be back for the mac&cheese, shrimp, and cobblers! Delicious!!

Right when you walk in, you'll see Captain Sam's set up in the corner. Service is friendly, instantly gives me that same vibe at my favorite fish and chicken spot back home in Chicago. Now the food? Smacks harder than Bruce Lee. Everything was fried to perfection. The catfish was flavorful without that muddy taste, the cod was light and flaky, and the shrimp? Big and great flavor. The whole wings hit the spot. I like to drench mine in hot sauce and ranch. Note: normally dinners come with three wings, but since they were on the smaller side they gave me four. Small gesture, big appreciation. Gizzards were clean, crispy, and fried just right and if you're about that spice life, definitely get them Chicago style (drenched in mild sauce). Even the fries deserve a shoutout. Most spots treat fries as an afterthought, but these had a crispy coating with a fluffy inside and some of the best I've had at a fish & chicken joint. I'll be back for sure. Welp! Onto the next Lipitor worthy food adventure!

I tried this place this past weekend at Del Mar's Taste of New Orleans festival and they were there operating under the name The Gumbo Pot. I saw they had a line and they were one of the more moderately priced food options so I gave it a try. I should've KNOWN it was going to be all bad when I asked for some Tony Cacheres and the girl behind the counter (I'm assuming is the daughter) said "I don't know what that is" and the older lady behind the counter (who I'm assuming is the mother) pointed at some packets of Crystal and Louisiana hot sauce like that was supposed to be a good consolation or something. If you have to add hot sauce to it then it ain't cooked right. Anyways, I ordered the 3 item plate with jambalaya, shrimp étouffée, and gumbo for $20, and let me say this is the MOST disgusting gumbo and étouffée I have EVER had in my life. The jambalaya was the only thing I could force down. The gumbo LITERALLY tasted like canned soup and the roux was a little light-skinned (if you know you know) and runny and watery. Then they didn't cook the okra right because it was slimy. There was no kick to it (gumbo is supposed to have hella flavor) and it was super bland. Just inedible. Don't let me get on that unflavored mash-up they called étouffée. Although the shrimp were a nice size, but they were rubbery and they had a fishy taste to them, which means they weren't fresh and again, NO flavor. The ONLY thing I could force down was the jambalaya and even that was too runny for jambalaya. It had nice chunks of chicken and sausage, but no flavor. I don't know how you can call yourself cooking Creole food and it's all bland and flavorless. I don't usually do this, but I took the uneaten étouffée and gumbo back for a 50% refund. I should've asked for ALL of my money back. The ONLY commonality between all of these things is NO flavor! The people in line thinking this inedible crap is good and authentic Creole food have obviously never been to Louisiana nor eaten food cooked by people from Louisiana. UPDATE TO RICHARD T.'S RESPONSE: Apparently you can't read because I SPECIFICALLY said "I tried this place this past weekend at Del Mar's Taste of New Orleans festival and they were there operating under the name The Gumbo Pot." Too Clearly you can't read OR cook. Vendetta for what? I don't know you but what I do KNOW is you were coming with feminine argumentative energy you displayed at the event. I could tell EXACTLY who you were when another customer was telling you what they wanted and you told your daughter "Don't let the customer tell you what they want, you tell them what they want." If you had so much to say why didn't you say it when I came to return that slop? You knew better. You're lucky I just didn't dispute the entire transaction with my credit card company instead of being nice and making your wife only give me back $10. You don't get to dictate HOW I spend my money sir nor do you get to tell me I should just let you take my money by thinking I should pay for something that I'm just going to throw in the trash. I knew I should've listened to dude at the BBQ booth when he told me not to eat here. Keep lying though saying I ate half the food (I took a pic for my records because I could tell by your energy and KNEW you would come on here and lie once you got your manties in a bunch about the review) you'll find yourself in court for libel. Nobody was trying to get a free meal hence why I brought that dog food back to you guys. Nobody cares how long you've been in business. I know people that have been rappin' for 30 years and ain't good so that means NOTHING! Then you go on to say that "a black woman trying to criticize and belittle a black owned business makes it even more shameful and disgraceful. Uplift, support and positive are obviously not words in this person's vocabulary, and definitely not values that were ever passed to her. Do better!" Maybe YOU should do better and learn how to cook. Just because Big Mama knew how to cook and maybe you watched her in the kitchen when you were a kid doesn't mean you know how to cook. That's the problem with so-called Black businesses (FYI it's technically not even a Black business because your wife isn't even Black by the way.) They think they should get a pass for bad service and bad food and then play victim. Just accept it and stop trying to pull the race card. It's a pathetic defense to your disgusting subpar food. READ YOUR REVIEWS! PLENTY OF PEOPLE SAID YOUR FOOD IS BLAND AND NOT GOOD! It's not just me. Being "Black" has nothing to do with anything and it's sad that YOUR parents didn't teach you how to accept responsibility and take criticism instead of trying to pull the race card. It's really sad for a senior citizen to act like this because somebody gave an honest review of your bland gross food.

I was initially turned off by the location, it was very difficult to find. The food truck is parked in a food truck lot, alongside non operational trucks so its easy to miss. There are several different food truck lots on this road so using maps was confusing. We had to circle the street several times before finally locating their truck. We tried not to let the location turn us off, but the food certainly did. We ordered a large jerk chicken which came with rice & peas with plantains. The chicken was large and extra meaty (the kind that is overly pumped with hormones). The flavor just wasn't there, as if it wasn't marinated at all. The rice & peas were bland as well, and lacked that shelly goodness. The icing on the cake was the fact that we ordered a pineapple juice but was given a cucumber juice with 95% crushed ice and 5% actual juice. We tried to go back to exchange but the owner was no where to be found. If you've never had Jamaican food before then you may find this place decent. Definitely not for someone who is familiar with the tastes and true flavors of Jamaican Cuisine.
