First, I got charged for the wrong order, then the guy at the window tried to give me that order instead of mine, (after I told him that isn't what I ordered.). Have been here a few time's. Inconsistency is the word that comes to mind. Last visit I ordered a family meal. Got home...and NO SALSA ! What? I return on 8-09 at 2;30 in the afternoon. Order a family meal, but can't get anything but legs and wings. No MIXED (thighs, chicken breast) available. Told them I will go to Gilroy. And I did. I even got salsa there. If Gilroy is a viable alternative I recommend it. read more

I love El Pollo Loco - been going to various locations for years. This location? Nasty- yuck - gross. The chicken was mangled and charred beyond recognition - completely inedible. I gave two stars simply for the restaurant being in decent condition and the beans/rice were good. read more

My son and I wanted to try this new fast food restaurant which replaced Del Taco hoping it would be a refreshing change from the same old-same old. Boy were we disappointed!! We tried the drive thru and found it surprisingly deserted. The female teenager who took our order was so rude and obnoxious. She obviously has no customer service skills!! She should be working the grill, tucked away out of sight! "Will that complete your order" were the only words that came out of her mouth each time we uttered a word! Talk about rushing is out of there!! This place will not see another cent of our money!! I guess you get what you pay for when you hire dumb people! Just went with a group of friends, used the drive through and found out our money wasn't wanted. The teen who took our order had no manners as she kept repeating "will that complete your order?" Over and over again. Really sad that a new restaurant in Watsonville that serves decent food has such crap employees. read more

Love love love! Their avocado chicken bowl is delicious. Every time I come to this location i have no problems at all. I just seen the commercial for the tostada bowls, so I think I'll have to try it next time. Wish they were open a little later when I get some late night hunger strikes. I don't know if it's just me but I can never seem to find the kids menu either. I know they have one but maybe on their menu they should have it highlighted a bit more or maybe I just keep looking past it well anyways. I was introduced to EPL in a crowded Laguna Beach locale in around 1992 by my younger brother. I loved it when one opened over the hill from me in San Jose. I went to it on trips home. Two existed in the Santa Cruz area around 10-15 years ago. Both were good, but both closed. Don't know why . But now the former location of a "Del Taco" in Watsonville has re-opened as an EPL. (The re-modeled and removed the silly children.s play area.) I've eaten there around 6 times over around 5 months. All experiences have been good. The salsa bar is more limited than at some "mom and pop" taquerias, but better than most (which have only squirt bottles or foil packets of generic hot sauce). I rate this place as better than the nearby Chipotle. Not as unfriendly to whites as some of mostly Mexican taquerias in the area. I still hanker for a reasonable burger place, like an In-N-Out (nearest ones are 30 miles away, in San Jose, Gilroy, Salinas, and Marina). --Tim May, Corralitos, CA read more

I kept wondering where El Polo Loco was located and went to Target and there it was! I used the drive through and ordered the shrimp tacos and the Tortilla soup. Both were delicious! The service was very polite. I read the other reviews and perhaps these were when they first opened and the crew were still in training. To say they hire stupid people is totally unfair and mean spirited! So I was in going to order Applebee's and instead I will pop over to El Polo Loco!! read more

Food was delicious! Got helped out by one of the employees , young man with curly hair! Very excellent customer service. Chicken was the best tasting! The only problem I faced was that there was some cook in the back who kept coming out and kept on looking at my husband in a very rude way because he was wearing his Joe Montana jersey . He then walked away and murmured something in Spanish. Overall great food and great teens , very kind . I would've rated 5 stars if it weren't for the cook coming out every 3 seconds and staring at my husband as if he were some gang banger . read more

Three meals, three different times, all were major disappointments. The chicken was "hard" meaning way over cooked. Other Pollo Locos have not been like this at all. Great food and great customer service!! I believe the manager or someone of a higher status at the restaurant of some sort, he was great at customer service! He greeted us, made sure we were okay, and also said bye as we left! The food was so fresh and yummy! Great place! Definitely going back! I'm glad Watsonville has a place like this now! read more

love the chicken ,have been here several times ,however order is not complete ,they forget the tortillas ,I had bought a big meal.Yesterday my husband ordered the Tortilla salad he wanted extra shrimp beside the chicken ,he paid 287 extra ,but they forgot the chicken.So people ,perhaps some extra training or less talking?I will be back since we all love the chicken. read more
