This review is based on 4 visits. I think this place has good potential but as of right now they have quality and speed of service issues. My first time trying them was the day they opened I order a Mex-mix. The chicken had good flavor but it was dry and tough. The beef was like rubber. The rice and beans were extremely good. The wait at the drive-through was around 15 minutes. My second visit was for breakfast. I ordered the scramble (with bacon) plate. They chop up the bacon and mix it with the eggs. It was fantastic! The wait at the drive-through was 45 minutes!! While most of the time I would have not waited, the lady at the window was nice and apologetic. My 3rd and 4th visits was today. I went there for lunch and ordered the Rico Burger. The wait was long as usual 15-20 minutes (but I expected that from previous visits) The bun was on the verge of being soggy, the French fries were cold, and the burger patty was dry as can be. The 4th visit was tonight for dinner and I ordered a 1/2 chicken meal. The wait was 20 mins and once the guy took my order and after I paid he came back to drive through window about two or three minutes later and asked me what did I order again, so I knew I was in for it again. Dry chicken again. But the rice and beans were excellent. At least they got that right. I'm sure once they get all the bugs worked out this will be a great little place and I'll update my review. But for now there are many issues they need to work out. read more

This was my first and last visit to this place! I purchased the beef stuffed baked potato (not). First, the potato was only as big as a small-frame person's fist. Secondly, it had black spots inside the potato near the surface of the skin. Lastly, the beef was very scarce; nearly non-existent! I paid $8 for that mess. Never again. I was truly disappointed with this experience. I will just stick with Jason's Deli. They have HUGE stuffed baked potatoes for the same price. read more

However I'm disappointed because I get my daughter the chicken quesadilla (my precious baby princess 1 year old to be exact, lol) and on multiple occasions I've found chicken bones in the quesadilla. Luckily, because she's 1 and the quesadilla is huge, she can't finish it all so I finished it for her. (So basically i ate the chicken bone, NICE) They're very nice, I do appreciate that, and clearly most things are made fresh. Fruit flies everywhere. Disgusting they were coming out of the soda dispensers. Ordered two kids meal quesadillas. Only to have only one ordered. No biggie I'll just go in and get another one. Well that turned out to be the worst thing I could have done. Order the kids meal at 6:09 at 6:45 they said your order is on the way. Mind you the rest ofy order is sitting in the truck. After seeing the cook in the kitchen on his phone rubbing his nose and then slapping my kids quesadillas with his bare hands I decided I didn't want cold germ covered food after all. This is the one closest to where I live! The food is good and the wait is exceptional, when it's not past 7pm. I usually order the El Pollo Nachos... and they're pretty delicious.. the only downside is, they're very sticky and can turn into a big ball of nachos, cheese and meat... you also may receive a side of constipation, LOL. read more

I wasn't asking for a substitution and was willing to pay the difference but again told "no". I simply always order 2 chicken tacos on corn with NO SOUR CREAM!! (Dairy allergy) What do I get, everytime?? Sour cream!!!! Smh. First time visiting an El Pollo Rico ever. There was only one car ahead of me with a few people in it. Total wait time was like 3 mins! Super fast service for my experience. Doesn't seem like that for others though. Maybe it was the time of day I went (4pm). Who knows. Anywho, I got the chicken rice bowl and it was so much better than I expected. The chicken was juicy and perfect. I received a half lime, sour cream and some green hot sauce which is the best stuff ever! I need to order extra next time. Have been to this location plus one in town. Have never ordered anything other than the whole chicken meal. Feeds 3 people easily, but you'll need extra rice and beans . 2 people and you can make a couple leftover tacos. Also this way you can pick the chicken yourself leaving out all bones which seems to be the main complaint. I do prefer el pollo regio over rico's recipe but this is still exceptionally good. The guys working the counter have always given great customer service, even in the drive through. The place is a win for Manor. read more

Food is consistent, prices are reasonable. 4 stars only because my preference for the chicken is to be cooked a little longer. However, it's still good and you can't find a whole chicken meal with sides for the price it's priced at. The green salsa,sauce is my fav. Just tried this place for the first time with the bf and his family. We ordered steak tacos and chicken tacos, both of which had excellent flavor. I did not have any bones in my chicken taco, as other reviewers have mentioned, but I did get a bit of cartilage in one bite. Frankly, that just lets me know their food is made with REAL chicken and not some homogenized frankenchicken. The tacos were the best things we had, will definitely be back for more. We also had chicken quesadillas, which I enjoyed. But again, my boyfriend found TWO chicken bones in his quesadilla. Also, it was VERY heavy on the cheese so I couldn't eat too much because it was very rich. It was also as big as the to-go container, so two people could easily share one quesadilla. Bf's cousin had the rico bowl which he said was 'okay' but needed more seasoning ("compared to Freebirds or Chipotle" he said). But he said he enjoyed the steak burrito. I'd heard they had great tres leches, but they were sold out for the day so we ordered the churros. They were good, though they might have been a touch sweeter. And they were huge, easily more than a foot long each. All told, good food and good value for what we paid. Bt dont let your kids order any chicken dishes, you will fond bones! The food is great! The customer service and wait time is horrible. It is very sad that the owners do not hire enough staff to make their service efficient. The front staff is working there butts off. The cashier Alejandro Ortiz is so worried about the amount of orders that he forgets to be happy or polite. I even heard him say they have to remember it's not fast food it's good food! Maybe we should have had chicken at a place with pollo in it's name, but...the hamburger bun was so dry it crumbled. The Pappa Asada was acceptable, but the potato wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese.
