Saturday 11:30pm Party of 30 Church Group Christmas Party Thank you to our two servers! You guys did a great job and we appreciate the use of the room for our Christmas Party. We arrived at 11am to decorate a bit and be there to welcome our guests. This year there was a print-out of menu items to select from on the tables ready for us. Each person circled their choice and wrote their name on the paper. Drink orders were taken and drinks brought out as guests arrived. Salsa and chips were plentiful and baskets refilled as needed. We started playing a fun Christmas game and the servers politely picked up the papers so our orders could begin. Food was brought out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. We were able to order cocktails as well as soft drinks and coffee too. Order tickets were given out individually and paid for on the spot. The process was smooth. We love having our Christmas party here each year and look forward to coming back again next year! read more

Came here based on reviews. Started out OK, but the two servers conflicted over whose booth it was. I decided to order breakfast: Divorced Eggs. Wasn't on the menu so I am glad they were willing to try making it. Because the eggs were not separated, the sauces were blended. Fries were excellent! Place is pretty much a dive. Slow as snails service and they weren't busy. Received drink, chips and salsa and then was forgotten about and ignored until I raised my voice to get the waitress' attention. House salsa only. If you're only going to offer house salsa, make it special. This wasn't. Taco shells were neither crunchy or soft. It was like trying to bite through leather so I just ate what was inside the shell. Shredded beef was good but could have used more spices when cooked. Refried beans were too salty. Enchilada sauce was red colored water. Runny and no flavor. The only thing that kept the meal from being a total loss was the chili verde had good flavor and the pork was tender. I have heard about this place for a very long time and I am glad I finally got around to trying it. This little hole in the wall has some of the best food I've ever had. We have had lunch and or dinner many times. The food used to be good after the new owners took over, however the food is now very bland with no flavor! I had 2 chicken taco's and a chili rellano. The chicken had no seasoning, none whatsoever and same with their refried beans. Unless things change we will not be going back. read more

I wish I took a recent picture, as this is kind of my go-to for both comfort food and when I'm needing to feel at home out somewhere. Not to mention one of my absolute favorites for Mexican food (there's a couple closer to home that are good...but this is typically my first choice). It's been under new ownership for a few years now and the quality immediately went up when they took over. It has stayed at that same pride of ownership and quality ever since and Eddie, one if the co-owners has been a staple here for years, as him and the head chef (I apologize that I can't think of his name at the moment) we're part of the original owners crew and they kind of grew up here. Everyone is so friendly, there is a lot of family that works here, and it seems that even if they are not family by blood, they all consider each other as a family and look our for one another. The building is much bigger than it appears from the outside and even has a banquet room! In fact, I'm such a fan that I got my car club to start having their monthly meeting here in the banquet room after 3 or 4 show and shine (and lunch/dinner) Events here! What can I say? I love this place, especially for the people! Yes, the food is good, and they have some local beers on tap, and I believe a full bar. I'm not the biggest drinker, so I can't really say much about their mixed drinks. But I come here and feel as it's the closest thing to my own real life "Cheers", as everyone knows my name and genuinely seems happy to see me! I might also mention that Eddie (one of the owners) OFFERED TO FIX THE TOP ON MY CAR not long after I bought it and put it up when I arrived and part of it had a nut and bolt come off, so the soft tip was concave and without me asking, he offered to on his lunch break in 100+° temperature locate the missing nuts and bolts and fix my soft top on my car! How many restaurant owners would go above and beyond for a customer like that??? Seriously! Give these guys a shot! Every single person is amazing here and the food is super good! Like I said, I wish I had a picture to post with this review. But my new go-to has become the two flour tacos combo with a shredded chicken and shredded beef tacos, add sour cream and guacamole. Bur you can't go wrong with anything here! Plus they make their tamales here! And the grilled chicken taco salad I had last week was amazing, the El Pueblito burrito with shredded beef about a week and a half ago came recommended was amazing, the chili Colorado and chili Verde are super amazing, too. I can't say on any shrimp or shellfish dishes, as I'm deathly allergic, but this is one place I never worry about cross-contamination. So there's that, too! Even us culinary people want to take a break and enjoy a meal that we don't have to prepare. We tried El Pueblito Mexican Restaurant based on Yelp reviews. I'll start by saying the service and staff were good. But now for the food- I ordered items that I can prepare and if it's at least 60% as good as I can prepare it then I am satisfied if the service is good as well. I ordered a Chile relleno/ shredded beef taco combo with rice and refried beans and my wife ordered one chicken enchilada with light cheese and boiled pinto beans. Now there's nothing wrong with seasoning with salt, but I'm sorry to say that all the food was over the top salty. It was the first thing I tasted. The chips were cold and not light and crispy. The salsa was flavorful but had no texture. The egg in the relleno was not light and airy but tough and twice fried, however the ranchera sauce was decent. The rice was tender but muted in flavor. My wife did not eat her meal. The chicken was over salted and the sauce wasn't flavorful. Same with the taco. Even the boiled beans were salty and dark which indicates they've been on the stove too long. I want customers to enjoy a fine meal but I didn't feel "the love" in the preparation. And for about $20 a person, all I left with was a hungry wife and an Alka Seltzer for me. I hope El Pueblito will take this review as a way to improve. Salsa is very runny. Chips tasted a bit off. I ordered a Chili Rellano and ground beef taco. Chili Rellano tasted like it was frozen first. The batter was spongy. The Taco was super dry. My experience here was okay. I read some of the reviews and someone had complimented the salsa... why? Don't get me wrong, the salsa was okay, but I've had better. We ordered the nachos with only cheese and chicken and it was okay, as well; a little on the greasy side but the flavor was okay. A major downer about the chicken was they had overcooked it, and it had a slight stiff crunchiness to it. I do have to say the service was a bit spotty. Our server kept making excuses as to why she was so slow; it was just odd behavior. One huge thing that stood out was I had asked for a refill of my drink, and 30 minutes had passed without the drink being brought, so my husband had to go remind her to bring the refill. THEN when she came, she actually told me that my husband scared her because he asked her to bring the refill. Honestly, that didn't sit well with me. I also feel the restaurant wasn't as clean as I would have hoped. Anyway, I was part of a large group for a meeting and will have to attend those meetings when they are held at El Pueblito, sadly, my husband and I will be eating elsewhere before attending the meeting because of the experience we had. We decided to try this place since we've heard good things& it's new to us. When we first walked in it took a minute to be seated, a pick up order was being brought out. The staff was nice, service was great. Refills on everything quickly. The chips and salsa are a 10/10 No weird paprika on the chips & the salsa has some spice to it & it tastes good. I tried this place because I got a gift card and heard decent things about it. It's not the worst but defiantly not the best. It's is very very basic. To start the salsa is runny! Like tomato sauce with a little heat. They did refill the chips often. We each ordered the three item. I got the chicken taco, enchilada and chili verde burrito. Again wasn't bad but lack flavor. Living here in Clovis for the past 33 years, I never noticed this Mexican restaurant located on the NE corner of Tollhouse and Sunnyside Ave. The building and interior is outdated but the food is great tasting. Our party of 6 came here on Saturday night right after church to enjoy some good food and catching up with each other. Service is excellent along with the food. I especially enjoyed the rice and refried beans, the best I've had in a long time. This is my second time coming to El Pueblito and it was alright. But that's about it. Just alright. The service was great! Very fast, friendly, and helpful staff. The ambiance is straight out of 1985 which brings a unique vibe to the restaurant. The food was fine but not great. Not a fan of the salsa since it's very watered down. The last four orders that we've called in for pick up have been wrong. They didn't follow instructions. We are. We got the wrong dinners tonight we ordered a tostada. The meat was ice cold and it was shredded beef so it also had big clumps of fat in it and it's I'm done I'm done. I will never order takeout from here again. I may go in to order dinner because they really are amazing but if they serve me what I got today it will be going back. I just cannot believe that you would allow something to come out of your kitchen like that and then the mixed up orders. It's no one's verifying it. There's items are being left off. It was more like fajita style without the sizzling plate onions and pepper. Super thick and chewy strips of beef. Not your thin grilled steak that were used to. Hit a gristle on first bite. Portions were nice but it looked like sliced beef. Husband left all of it on his plate. Guacamole was "gross" he said. He immediately spat it out. I didn't want to try it because it looked odd. Chile Relleno/Cheese enchilada: 3/5 wanted to like it, but it was room temperature. The cheese wasn't soft in the Relleno. Beans: 5/5 Super yummy and very flavorful! Water: 0/5 their water tasted way off! I couldn't drink it. Raised in tap water and this water was just ... tainted. Oddly enough, the sauce on the Relleno and Enchilada had a hint of that taste to it as well. Staff: 5/5 Everyone there is super nice and welcoming. It was very comfortable. Food was very mediocre- totally lacking in spices even salt. I had chicken enchilada combo - nothing special kinda dry My spouse had shrimp fajitas said they were good. On a scale of 1- 5 , I'd they are a 3.5 at best. Service was very rushed but they said they had a large group to attend to. They also skipped us to wait on others that arrived after we did. Ambiance- kinda divey and it was extremely warm, warmer than outside which was in the 90's with no air circulation inside it was uncomfortable. Do yourself a favor--eat here. Enchilada sauce is amazing. My Mexican boyfriend says it's the closest to authentic his grandmother would make. But the shrimp enchiladas are the BEST I've ever had.
