    The Birdman Sandwich
    Rachel K.

We stopped by for late dinner (9pm) and got two sandwiches, the baby wook and birdman. Both sandwiches could have been a little warmer but both were super tasty. Cutlets for both were very well seasoned. Birdman- very garlicky but good. Baby wook- well balanced sandwich. Perfect blend of buffalo and ranch.

Someone else had this place saved on their to do list so we decided to check it out! As others have mentioned, it's inside Human Robot, and there is a sandwich board sign outside to make help guide you to the right place. It was a Monday night and pretty quiet inside. A random perk was a guy (not affiliated with the restaurant or bar) was giving out free vegan cookies lol I ordered the Sal sandwich with cheese fries. Overall I thought the sandwich was decent and a nice portion size. I would have loved a thicker piece of chicken or maybe it fried a little lighter, but I'd go back to try some of their other sandwiches!

Great sandwich place! Loved that it was attached to a brewery. The atmosphere was casual and fun. Prices were reasonable and sandwiches were big! Quality chicken cutlets and loved the pickles. We will definitely be back.

Poe's has been my absolute favorite place to eat in the city, and #1 recommendation to friends whom are visiting out of town for years now. I always try my best when I'm in the city to grab a sandwich to go on my way home for the next day. Their sandwiches are legend, the staff is amazing, and the overall ambience is legit. As someone who doesn't have kids, I actually like that this place put their foot down and decided to not allow kids after 2pm. I've had just about every sandwich on the menu at this point, but my favorites will always be the Sal Bonpensiero (RIP BIG P), the Baby Wook, the Gabbygool and the Seoulgirl. I know they took they Luca's meatballs off the menu, but when they're on special every once in awhile, you've gotta get down there and try them. I swear that if I ever get married I'm gonna beg them to cater my wedding (at first this was a joke, but I am 1000% serious and who could think of a better Philly wedding idea??? Staff was friendly, portion size is good, and the balance of spicy sauce, chicken thickness, bread quality, and the sufficient amount of Chinese? Parsley made this sandwich one of their best choices. The restaurant is part of Human Robot and it is clean with a small variety of seating. I have a friend who lives near here- so I could be back!

Awesome joint! They are called sandwiches but they are more like hoagies. The sandwiches here are delicious. Especially the chicken Head. Pretty inexpensive for a foot long sandwich. No ambiance. You just stand at the window in a line. I was wishing I still lived over by this place, then I realized the deliver to my work. It's a whole new world.

Human Robot and Poe's are kind of a two-in-one package, but I mostly come here for the food. Poe's riffs on the typical Italian and chicken cutlet sandwiches. It's just enough that I feel like I'm getting a unique combo I wouldn't have tried on my own. Menu items I've tried: - Splatter (my favorite) - Gabbygool - Skinny Joey Fries I've also had a daily special with a name I can't remember. All the sandwiches are super filling and last me about two meals. Will definitely be back!

I was at a friend's place and we were getting kinda hungry. We looked this place up and we were not disappointed. We ordered the food to go and swung by the bar to pick it up, while we didn't stay long we did like the ambiance and the people were so nice to my friend and her dog. I'll say she's definitely gonna be coming by fairly often. We picked the food up and honestly I couldn't wait to dig in, it's been a while since I had a great chicken cutlet sandwich. And the food did not disappoint. I ordered the Sal Bonpensiero, partly for the name, but mostly because I looked awesome in the menu pics. Rich set of flavors in it, none too overwhelming. Amount of balsamic was just right. Mozzarella and peppers a solid combo, and the prosciutto helping out too. The cutlet itself was a little dry but I chalk that up to ordering food at 9:30pm at night. Great filling sandwich I would highly reccomend. The cheese fries we got to split came in pretty generous portions, so much so that we had some left over after. Loved how cheesy they were. Pretty heavy on the bacon but I'm not gonna complain about that, and neither did my friend. Overall I really enjoyed the food from here, will definitely come again soon. Maybe try the actual brewery itself as it looked like a fun spot. P.S. Sopranos fans will appreciate the names of some of the sandwiches.

    BigPussy sandwich and fries

Needed a quick fix for dinner while in Philly and Poe's delivered. Ordered the BigPussy sandwich. Delivery was quick and the food arrived fresh. Comes with ample amount of chicken and mozz. Pesto sauce and roasted peppers brings all the flavors together. Fries were on the thinner side, salty and crispy. Large size, appropriate for the price.

So the entire time I thought this sandwich place was a part of human robot but quickly found out yesterday that they were separate entities. We met up with my friends for a little picnic on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We each ordered our drinks and proceeded to order our sandwiches online and waited to receive texts that our sandwiches were ready. We were using the outside seating, drinking our beers, playing with my daughter when we realized that it had been over 30 minutes and our sandwiches weren't ready. At that point only one of the 4 adults finally received a text, so we went in and turned out the sandwiches were all ready. It appears their notification was glitchy or inconsistent. Regarding my sandwich, I ordered the Hamilton and overall I thought it was good but the house ranch was a bit too much for me, the chives were overwhelming. If I could switch the ranch/chives for balsamic glaze this would be the best sandwich ever, because the chicken cutlet was delicious with tons of bacon and a good amount of fries! The sandwich was huge and I had my other half for lunch the next day. Good sandwich spot for sure.

Attention to detail. Volume. Presentation. Poe's sandwiches stand out in a city of sandwiches. As a fun "stoner spot" sharing space with a tasty & chill brewery, it would be impressive if the food was just good--but instead the food goes shockingly hard (complex flavors, sturdy bread, lots of sauce) and becomes a reason to stop into the (phenomenal) brewery in the first place. The servers/sandwich extraordinaries are really sweet and never forget the (very necessary) napkins. Best time to go: A perfect late afternoon bite (if you forgot to eat lunch, are just finished with a long run, or need something to pair with your Hallertau) Order: The Seoulgirl is fresh and vibrant with a spot-on kick.

I have been meaning to try this spot for a while. Located inside the iconic human robot brewery, they have a great selection of sandwiches, including rotating specials. I decided to go with a classic, chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe. Such a simple sandwich executed perfectly. Starting off with great bread, thin and crispy cutlet (and seasoned), topped with garlicky rabe (probably the best I have ever had). To me the brocc rabe really elevated this sandwich. Normally bland and bitter, this rabe was cooked in a way that actually tastes good.

The tomatoes on this were nuts. It was like tomato jam. So good. I've also learned when an option to add bacon exists, it's the right option. Had it delivered over to Human Robot(great Czech pils) and couldn't complain. Super fast service and, hot dog if this isn't the best sandwich joint I've been to in Philly.

This place treated me and my company terribly and they turned us away they must be making so much money that they could just be mean to whoever they want. We wasted like an hour of our precious time that night recently. It was 1am Saturday night (technically Sunday). He said last call was done and proceeded to kick us out rather than letting us wait there for our Ubers. However there were tons of other people there and he was fine with that. We were well-mannered and did not deserve to be treated that way. The bartender guy even flicked his middle finger at my best friend who is a gentleman that tried to capture a video of the establishment name and him. So he was brazen and bold to be nasty to us. It could've even been due to the color of our skin, and I am saying this as a patriotic Republican (meaning I do not cry "racism" for everything), but I will call it out as I see it. To prove this is a true review and story I've attached a video of the bartender who flicked us off and you can hear a girl in our group talking about how rude he was.

And I will say it was a little better than I remember last time. I got the works with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and provolone. On this one the beef was a little better than last time. Campos is a small strip fast food dine in that appears to be well kept in and out. unfamiliar with the social popular attraction this restaurant gets.. but i chose to eat here as it was closest to us after visiting the adventure aquarium (great aquarium i recommend it) so that we could try authentic philly cheesesteak but sadly i was slightly disappointed and here s why: before i give my opinion i'd like to state i got a the italian cheesesteak rather get a simple cheesesteak and that's my mistake there but after noticing no prices were marked on the menus i already felt off about it. in total my gf and i each got 1 sandwich and a fountain drink bringing the total up to 49 dollars.. i didn't have time to react but seeing the prices set my expectations high. i was expecting to be blown away by being served the messiest cheesesteak i'd ever eaten so gooey and greasy it'd take years off my life but when we unrolled our sandwiches i was immediately let down. sandwiches didnt look appetizing and the italian cheesesteak tasted like i was eating one large cooked broccoli. there were peppers in my sandwich that had a whole lot of heat which i enjoy in a good sandwich but the heat came with no flavor and was too intense for me to taste and enjoy even the overwhelming broccoli flavor from the sandwich. i will say the sharp provolone was delicious when i could taste it but sadly that's all i take from my sandwich. my gf got the cheesesteak hoagie and says the flavor was good and enjoyed her sandwich but feels the price is ridiculous for the quality and i sadly have to agree. if i'm going to spend more than i would at applebees.. yes.. applebees.. for food that wasn't as good as applebees then i expect to be blown away. staff was average they weren't rude no complaints there. the store is air conditioned and well kept considering the very limited seating due to high traffic with pictures and painting on the walls with some historic look-backs to its earlier years. Overall i won't base my entire opinion on philly cheesesteaks from this review. i've heard from locals and family that you want to find the food trucks that serve cheesesteak as they have what i'm looking for. will i come back here? no. -update: the owner posted a comment to my review saying i should get out more then began to compare prices to other places that might just have better food i've never received this type of feedback but this is also my lowest rating so far so i'm i guess i'm not too surprised.

The overwhelming use of plastic felt underwhelming for dining in and didn't align with the price point, especially when the average coffee + bagel total exceeds $15.
