Everything was piping hot and fresh. What impressed me was the nacho and salsa bar. A variety of fresh salsas, grilled jalapeño peppers, sautéed onions, lime slices, and pickled jalapeños and veggies available with little containers to put the salsas inside. Received great service. Plenty of seating inside, though it looks like most people use the drive-through. I ordered the carne asada taco salad, which came in a crispy deep-fried flour tortilla shell. It was topped with fried tortilla cubes, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and refried beans. Everything was fresh and tasty. I also tried a fried ground beef taco. The shell was a little overcooked--almost burnt--but still edible. The beef inside was extremely hot (temperature-wise), which I appreciated since it tasted freshly made. The salsa bar was a highlight, especially the avocado salsa, and you can help yourself to plenty of chips. Overall, a good spot with solid flavors. My husband and I stopped here after kayaking to Jacob Myers Park in Riverbank. We were damp & hungry! The food was average for a taqueria. We ordered: * Tuesday special- 2 street tacos (3/5) chicken * Daily special- 3 rolled tacos with rice and beans (3/5) The service was good. We ordered our food to go so we could eat out in the truck. I've gone here a few times now. Usually I get the nachos but this time I wanted to try their chicken burritos. This one came with rice, sour cream, chicken, and cheese. I think next time I would get it without the rice but overall it was a tasty treat. read more

Normally these kind of places have decent not great food but shoot my 9 year old can make a better Carne Asada burrito then them. Carne Asada is not carne asada it's just ground beef bug difference. Don't go here at all not is it bad quality but even the price on this ground beef burrito is absurd for the shitty quality. This place is so darn good! The meat is lean & chopped up good. They give you plenty of food so you will have leftovers or can share it between 2 people.The price is well worth the serving & I feel you really get your money's worth. The staff is very friendly & it seems they enjoy providing great customer service. Their friendliness is very refreshing. This is my husband's and my go to place for Mexican food. We enjoy the surroundings, the cheerful environment filled with faithful customers and the service by this long time family owned establishment. The food is terrific! My favorite dishes are the fajitas and the tostada with pickles carrots. So delicious. My husband almost always goes for the Tacos or the quesadilla el pastor. 1) this place is open 24/7 which I love as I work crazy hours. 2) I've been there probably 25 times and the customer service has always been excellent. 3) the real reason to go here is the food! There are many Mexican restaurants in Riverbank and this is my favorite hands down! My kids love the tacos, while I truly enjoy my grilled chicken super burrito. I get it without rice and beans and it's still a mammoth size meal. Some place when you ask to take something out, the portion is diminished. Not here. Definitely 2 meals with the 1 burrito. The salsa is good, but I recommend the avocado salsa. Has a little kick but very tasty. If somehow you finish the burrito and want dessert, try a churro. I had a freshly made one and it was the bomb! This place packs their breakfast burritos!! Protein packed breakfast is hard to come by these days. Even sit down sit down restaurants only give you at most 2 eggs and everything else is just carbs. I don't know how many eggs El Rancheros uses but I got their huge ham, egg, and cheese burrito and that's all it is. No filler with other carbs. Just packed with protein for under $15 WITH a drink. Cheese was shredded and cold, not nearly melted at all. Chips and salsa are self service have to bag your own chips and everyone uses same tongs that are in chip container. Soda machine was messed up regardless of what you chose the machine was spraying soda and carbonated water everywhere except in the cup. Expected way more from a newly opened restaurant. This is a rating based on the food taste - not overall experience. If you imagine fast food Mexican, it tastes exactly like it. It's not amazing, but it's not bad either. The portions are huge though! We got kids burritos and quesadillas, we got asada fries and we got a super burrito. The salsas were extra watery and one of the caps came off in the to-go bag and made such a mess! Not a fan of Mexican rice with chunks of carrots and jalapeños - no kid is going to be interested in eating that. The chicken had pretty good flavor, but again it was also kinda watered down and made my food a bit soggy by the time I got home to eat it. For the price, I don't think it's worth it, but since this is 24 hours... I could justify it if it was the only thing open after a night at the bar. The super burrito is HUGE!! It was loaded with carnitas and the meat was seasoned really good. The breakfast burrito was ok..kind of bland. I also got a carne asada quesadilla and even that was loaded with meat. Customer service was really good, I went inside and it was nice and clean and staff was super nice.
