best people, delicious fresh food. Tamales, De puerco, black beans and rice, yummy salsas (beware of the yellow container lol HOT!)

I ordered two tacos de fajita and one pollo & they were DELICIOUS!!!! The service was great and quick!!! The girl who attended us was friendly and respectful. They have created a cozy environment! Once I devoured my tacos I had to go back to the front and let the owner know his tacos were amazing! 10000/10 please support this sweet establishment

After visiting a local farmers market on Airline this morning. Without having my usual HEB Houston blend coffee and some breakfast at home, I built up a decent appetite on the borderline of being hangry with the hot and humid weather we have been experiencing in southern Texas. Finding authentic Mexican food is like finding a needle in a haystack in Texas. Went in looking to buy meats to cook at home and noticed they were serving food. We ordered some carnita tacos and washed it down with some Coca Cola from the glass Mexican bottles. Food was prepared by a team of females. It felt like I was eating some tacos prepared from the comforts of the cooks homes. There is no menu, just numbers for orders. Was quite chaotic since I don't speak a lick of Spanish but love all things Mexican cuisine. Food was amazing! 6 tacos with two cokes for a little over $18 and left the place with full bellies. Will definitely be back for more comfort Mexican food..this could be quite a rare gem I accidentally stumbled upon.

Delicious!! I got the ropa vieja plate with Mexican rice and everything was so good! I absolutely hate beans but the black beans were so flavorful. I loved it. The beef was so tender. I will definitely come back again. I would've given 5 stars but I bought a rotisserie chicken a la carte for 6.99 but when I opened the box the chicken was sooo small. It was the size of a Cornish hen. It was good but not worth 6.99. I could've gone to costco for an even bigger rotisserie chicken.

Amazing experience. Friendly ladies who Assemble the most delicious tacos. You can taste the authenticity and especially because everything is fresh. We had the carnitas which was pulled off the bone and the barbacoa which was amazing. Some cilantro and onions topped off a freshly made flour tortilla. Now the best was the menudo. The pictures say it all. I guess my husband and I have found a new love and it's not each other lol.....

Herbert's Specialty Meats on Richmond near the Galleria instantly took me back home. The moment you walk in, the number of items from Louisiana is delightful Their boudin, seasonings, and prepared items reminded me so much of my grandmother's gumbo, boudin, and rich, slow-cooked stews--comfort food that warms your soul. You can taste the authenticity and love in everything they make. This is the kind of place that understands balance, spice, and tradition. Customer service was excellent--friendly, patient, and genuinely happy to help you find exactly what you're craving. There are tons of choices, whether you're stocking up for a cookout or just grabbing something to satisfy that Cajun craving. For anyone missing Louisiana flavors or wanting the real deal in Houston, Herbert's is a must-stop. It feels like a little piece of "The Boot"

As winners of the Steak Showdown in Texas in 2023 for the people's choice for best traditional dish and the judges choice for best creative dish, they've garnered a respectable following as a pop-up with Houston foodies on Instagram. Their model for first-come, first-served attracts the curious and past fans of their work. Expect a minimum wait of about 2 hours and pray they don't run out of anything. We made the mistake of dressing moderately warm for the cold temperatures of January, but who would've thought that we'd be seeing 6 inches of snow--and in Houston of all places? Admittngly, the smells waiting in line are absolutely intoxicating. The folks are trying to be as accommodating as possible with how cold it's getting by setting up propane warmers around their setup inside the parking space at PARK BLVD in the Heights, but one can only endure waiting in a crawling line for so long--there can be better process management to attack the demand. It was especially upsetting seeing people jump out of the line just to end up 30 minutes in front of you ordering the last 3 available ribeyes. We ended up getting the LAST tomahawk ribeye that we reserved online the week prior and it was epic..! But talk about stressful... The team also gave us some laotian sausage for standing in line for so long but there's got to be some kind of fail safe in place so that you don't have people waiting hours just to buy up a plate of sides. All the meats should be counted prior and counted as theyre being sold, and maybe limiting 2 entrees per person would help mitigate the amount of empty mouths. Anyway, the food was amazing. I'm definitely coming back on the next pop-up!
