To start I asked why the prices were 3+ for each item compared to their website. Their answer had holes in their story like if the owner is dead why would the site be still up (someone is paying for it...) Next I have a severe corn allergy and the response was "i dont know why people come to a restaurant that they know they will have allergies at." Then they delivered my dip with CORN TORTILLAS CHIPS sticking out if it! They charged me extra without telling me it would be extra for asking for flour tortillas as a substitute for the chips so I could eat my dip. When i brought this to the manager he said "i dont agree with it but I'll take it off" IM ALLERGIC TO IT! She said it was a substitute! Main dish came out and I have NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't bring my fajitas on a cast iron separately than the other stuff. There were 2 shrimps, 1 piece of chicken and 3 small pieces of beef. This cost me $32. This is higher than San Diego prices! Oh and to top it off the sour cream was frozen when it came out. Service was seriously lacking. All in all the food didn't even taste all that great and they nickel and dime everything. We had a great lunch today, chicken enchiladas for me and a combo plate for my husband. The chicken was fresh and tender and had perfect flavorings in the salsa verde. My husband's carne asada tamale was also great. The margaritas are delicious and strong :). The chips and salsa before our meal were delish. The chips were very thin and crispy, not at all greasy. For our mains, my friend got a tostada, and I got a combination of tamale and an enchilada. The serving size was ginormous, and the food tasted delicious. The service goes fast, and the servers are very nice and friendly. Since this is in a very touristy area, it was difficult to find parking, but there are a bunch of parking lots in the area so keep looking. We tried this place for lunch and had a good experience. We had a group of 8 split up between 2 tables on the covered patio. The chips and salsa were tasty. The salsa has a nice kick to it, but not overwhelming. My daughter enjoyed her quesadilla with rice and beans. My wife tried the shredded beef taco salad. Sublime. Have you ever used that adjective to describe a Mexican restaurant? This is a first for me. I ordered the beef fajitas at the recommendation of my excellent waiter Moses. The rice was perfect. Well seasoned; neither overly moist or dry. You can taste every kernel. Remarkable. The black beans were a surprise. The first forkful hit my taste buds, my eyes closed involuntarily, and I let out a (loud) satisfied sigh. The inhabitants of the nearest table stared. Oops. The beef (filet Mignon--for real!) was moist, tender and practically dissolved in one's mouth. The tortillas (I chose corn) were tender but thick enough that they did not fall apart when loaded with meat, pico, and salsa. Magical. The salsa was spicy, fresh, and made on premises. If you want to have severe food poisoning that lasts for DAYS, eat here. Otherwise, be smart, heed my warning and stay as far away from this sorry excuse of a Mexican restaurant. My family and I took a day trip up to Sedona on Friday, 2/27, and by Saturday evening we were all throwing up and had severe diarrhea. It's been almost a week and we're still suffering the repercussions of a quick decision to eat here with vomiting, diarrhea, and excruciating stomach pain. Now I'm not sure if it's actual food poisoning or cross-contamination that caused us to be this horrendously ill, but never again will I step foot in this subpar, clearly unclean restaurant. I will be contacting the health department and am requesting a refund from the restaurant. To have guests dine in, and be THIS sick, is unacceptable. And I know for a fact we got sick here because 4 out of our 5 family members are extremely ill, myself included; we all have the same symptoms, and the only thing we did differently was eat at this restaurant. So, stay away, friends. Unless you're wanting to lose a few pounds by means of vomiting nonstop and diarrhea, then have at it! read more

Was referred here and we were craving Mexican so we were so happy to pull in to Tlaquepaque and see it right away and get a table. The prickly pear margarita (my friend got with Tito's instead- might have been laughed at) was REALLY GOOD- I got the house/rocks/salt. The salad is chock full of large pieces of stir fried fajita chicken, together with sautéed sweet onions, bell peppers, chopped ripe tomatoes and chopped romaine lettuce. This is a really neat place that mixes Mexican with Native American. We had been here previously and had enjoyed a pizza but wanted to try a new topping..the base of the pizza is not your traditional corn shell but rather more of a Indian Flat Bread. The flavors are very good and the portion is generous. A small is definitely shareable. We also decided to try the cheese enchilada and the chicken tamale. The enchilada had an amazing sauce. It was really good. The tamale was okay... I'm not sure I would get it again but our server recommended it and I had never had a chicken tamale before. The rice and beans were also really good but I was disappointed in the portion as it was $6.50 to add on and it was only about a small scoop. All in all, I'd come again. It is a unique experience with great flavor. Our server was attentive and we had everything we needed. I did do 4 stars instead of 5 as I do feel the prices so not reflect the food quantity/quality. I also wish they would provide more space between tables as we were seated back by the restrooms and it was a little bit of a tight fit. The nachos, however, looked like they had ingredients thrown on top of them and they were just put into an oven for a few minutes. They seriously had the impression of homemade microwave nachos. The ingredients were fresh ish, parts of it were tasty, but I certainly wouldn't order it again and wouldn't advise anyone else to. The presentation seemed lazy. We started with two Margs and asked for Herradura Silver tequila. These were soooo good! They served us free chips and salsa. The salsa is authentic and has a nice kick. The chips are very light and crispy. For our meal we ordered the chicken tacos - I asked to change from crispy shells to regular corn tortillas instead which is the authentic way to eat tacos in mexico. And hubby ordered the steak tacos or carne asada. He said they were delicious. My chicken tacos were not very flavorful. Just tasted like boiled chicken. We had ordered a side of Guac so I added some of it to my chicken tacos to spice them up a little. The food came super fast we were hoping to take our time but we came at an odd time and the cooks were not very busy at all. For dessert we tried the house made flan and it was delicious. This a very popular place, and there is always a wait to be seated. They told us 30 minutes and called us in 10. As for the food, it's your average Mexican food. There's nothing wrong with the food. But honestly, you can get this level of food anywhere. I had a combination plate of green corn tamales with a beef taco. Both wee flavorful and cooked well. One thing I did appreciate that others may not is the portion size was smaller than I usually get at other Mexican restaurants.
