My meal It arrived like a quiet promise: a butterflied whole fish laid flat on a white plate, skin bronzed and whisper‑crisp from a hot grill while the flesh beneath gleamed, flaking in neat, almost translucent ribbons--an immediate lesson in restraint. The first bite gives you that textbook contrast chefs chase: a thin, savory Maillard snap, then cool, silky flesh that still tastes of the sea rather than smoke, which tells me it was hit hard over heat to render the skin and pulled off at the precise moment before the proteins tightened. Grilled lemon halves, their edges caramelized, are doing real work here--squeezes of that charred citrus cut through the fish's natural oiliness--while the thin ribbons of pickled red onion and peppery microgreens supply the bright, acidic punctuation that keeps the palate moving. Slices of avocado act as a soft, creamy foil, lengthening the finish without smothering the fish, and the halved cherry‑tomato salad looks lightly dressed so you get clean sweetness and a crisp counterpoint rather than a soggy, overdressed side. From a technical standpoint I appreciate the fundamentals: even scoring or oiling of the skin to prevent sticking, careful timing so the flakes separate cleanly, and a sparing hand with seasoning so the brine of the fish isn't lost under salt or heavy sauces. Many places feel compelled to gild seafood with every trendy condiment; here, the restraint is refreshing and, frankly, rarer than it should be. Service matched the cooking: friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to steer us through the menu with solid recommendations, which matters when a kitchen is doing delicious things well. The restaurant itself is calm and clean, a peaceful setting with a bar that lets the food speak, and last time I was there they were in the process of securing a beer and wine license--good news, because this kind of balanced, grill‑forward cooking benefits from a thoughtful pour. In short, this meal stands out because it trusts the ingredient: confident grilling, smart acid, and honest accompaniments that clarify rather than compete, leaving you satisfied and already thinking about the next visit. As for the house-made salsa: stainless ramekins on a white plate, each with its own tiny spoon - bright yellow emulsion, lacquered dark reduction, smoky-red chile purée, and a chunky herb relish. The emulsion is silky and tangy, perfect for cutting fat; the dark sauce is sticky, umami-forward and built to cling; the red one carries smoke on oil and is medium-hot; the relish snaps with fresh acid and crunch. Important heads-up: one of these is a ghost-pepper style salsa - extremely spicy, slow-building and long-lingering, so use it as a finish, not a dunk. Execution is tidy: no broken emulsion, measured viscosities, portioned so flavors don't bleed - practical, disciplined work. In an era of one-trick "house sauce" laziness, this quartet gives you tools, not excuses, and it elevates whatever's on the grill without stealing the show. I'll definitely be back here!

Decent spot for some Mexican seafood. Modern and slick interior with chill Latin pop makes me feel like I'm sitting in an all-inclusive resort. Loved the tuna ceviche. Good portion for $28. Mango habanero hot sauce takes the ceviche up a notch with its tropical flavor. Grilled Kanpachi taco is my favorite of all the tacos. Fish is grilled with care, well preserving the moisture and natural sweetness. Had to get a second grilled kanpachi taco after devouring 4 different tacos already. Rib eye taco is quite amazing too. Love the satisfaction from a well grilled fatty steak. The rib eye itself is sliced to thin pieces but I still get the sensation of biting into chunks of meat. Love the idea that the seasoning is competed with pickled onions and salsa as opposed to just seasoning the meat Baja fish and shrimp are more forgetful. Would come again for the tacos absolutely.

MUST TRY this new Mexican seafood grill in West Hollywood!! The food is excellent particularly the uber fresh ceviches, and the branzino just wow! I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes for the cost! Portion sizes in most places have gone down while the cost has risen, but not here! Very high value for the money. We also had dessert and the tres leches cake is out of this world! Also the grilled chicken is just exceptional! I haven't been blown away by anyone's chicken in a long time. It's juicy and tender and the smokiness from the grill is so intoxicating. The service was excellent as well, Erica was a delight and so attentive! Highly recommend this place I've been back three times in two months!

We were craving tacos from a popular Michelin-starred spot nearby but didn't want to wait in yet another line after the pop-up events. Luckily, Dos Amantes offers a very similar menu without the wait. Very clean, modern, well-lit dining area. They have daily deals like $12 for 3 fish tacos (individually $6)! The tacos were fantastic--fresh, sturdy tortillas, and the fish tacos were crispy, meaty, and moist inside. The octopus taco was hearty too, though it needed a bit more effort to bite through. I liked the black spread with bits of octopus in it. We got four different sauces, including salsa macha (chili crisp!), each with a varying level of spice, but nothing too intense. However, the tortillas were a tad small to comfortably eat without the contents spilling out. Additionally, the complimentary tortilla chips with salsa were good, though warm chips would've been a nice touch. The tuna ceviche looked generous, but the tuna was much too finely diced, making it hard to distinguish from the tomatoes. It was tasty, but for $28, I expected more of the tuna to shine through. We ended with a slice of tres leches cake that was light, moist, not too sweet, and packed with milk flavor. The berries were fresh and large. Even though we were the only ones there, the service was attentive and friendly. Everything came out quickly, and they checked in on us several times. If you want specific tacos but don't have the time to wait in line, or if you're hosting a larger group and need a slightly fancier spot, Dos Amantes is a solid choice. The prices are a bit higher, but that's to be expected with a full-service restaurant.

Had an amazing time here. Great food and wonderful service. I really enjoyed the salsa and had to stop myself from eating more chips. I think they are made in house very good. The branzino did not look very appetizing but it was amazing. There werent many people dining here and it's a fairly new restaurant. I hope more people check it out

Fantastic experience tonight for their Grand Opening Party. Parking was easily found around the corner and the atmosphere was very welcoming. They had a big balloon display outside with a red carpet as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony and a dj. Inside the tables were first come first served. My husband and I were able to easily find one. Since they were hosting this party all the food and drinks were included. We easily figured out the layout of the restaurant and everything went smoothly from then on. There was a bar on one side where you could order alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. The bar also had an area for self-serve chips, salsa and guacamole. On the other side of the bar was another self-serve raw seafood station. They had oysters, scallops, uni, etc. The kitchen was an open concept where you could walk up or stand nearby to watch the chefs cooking. The staff were all so friendly and the hospitality was fantastic. Now for all the tables - the best part was the waitresses and waiters would walk around with all the food and bring it straight to you. I can't even count the amount of food we ate but every single dish was so satisfying! We had several versions of tacos including short rib, ribeye, shrimp, fish and octopus. We also has tostadas, shrimp cocktails, etc. This went on for three entire hours to the point where we both left completely stuffed! During the event there was a raffle and several announcements introducing the staff as this a family-run restaurant. Overall it was a great event and I can't wait to be back!

9/3/2025 - This is a newly opened Mexican Grill, which specializes in seafood, two months ago. The staff are friendly and working hard to make every customer happy. Looking at the fresh seafood display lead me think this is an upscale seafood restaurant in Los Angeles, e.g., the live Uni is so good and fresh, which is very difficult to find in LA. If you like sweet, try this Tres Leches, a 5-star desert. The street paid parking in front of the restaurant is available, but no parking between 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At present, no Happy Hour and WiFi are available in the restaurant.

    Short rib tacos were AMAZING!!
    Andrea K.

Street meter parking. Amazing service by Cassandra! We had some fresh oysters, Baja fish, tacos, and the short rib tacos. They were all so amazing! For tacos were both flavored and had a great texture. It was not overcooked or rubbery at all. The Baja fish tacos were light and flaky. They were the best tacos we had ever eaten. And that's saying a lot since we eat at many different places for tacos. We will be coming back again!

Free samples outside! Blue fin tuna ceviche. They also offered lemonade.
    Richie D.

Apparently new to the neighborhood, specializing in seafood. I walked by and they offered free samples of their lemonade and their blue fin tuna ceviche. Super friendly folks! Metered parking right out front.

Talk about artisan Mexican Food the four brothers that own this place are from Oaxaca and they also own red fish, which is a sushi/Mexican place everything that they have there is made in house from their tortillas to their salsa to everything that's pickled their dessert their short ribs were amazing. They were slow roasted even stuff that is as simple as the cheese quesadillas were so good. The tortillas were made fresh there and they use fresh cheese. The guacamole is made there. The shrimp ceviche is out of this world and then they have three homemade hot sauces that they make delicious if you're gonna go for dessert try their Tres leches. It is probably the best I've ever tried.

    Kanpachi Ceviche Tostada
    Alejandro G.

Came in randomly for lunch on a Tuesday, the whole restaurant looks awesome, the restaurant is new so they still had no alcohol but I was able to grab some food. The quality of the seafood I had, has to be some of the best in LA. I ordered the Kanpachi Tostada, Baja Fish taco and the taco de pulpo (not pictured because I destroyed it before remembering to take a pic....) But everything was so good, the sofrito in the octopus taco is so addictive, the salsas that come with it are so spicy but you just can't stop eating it. Everything was so good, and while I was having a conversation with the host/owner the chef sent out and extra taco for me to try, I really appreciate rhetorical hospitality shown by the owners and the chef! Will definitely come back to have a drink or two or 4 when you guys get that liquor license!

This place deserves more patrons. Everything we've had here so far has been incredible, especially the ceviche. It's some of the best we've had. I can't recommend Dos Amantes enough.

The service here is excellent and everything ran smoothly with zero issues. The bread and butter here is excellent while waiting for your meal. I had the beef stroganoff, which is a comfort dish for me. It's hearty and delicious so I couldn't wait to try this dish. I was certainly surprised because I was not expecting it to be incredibly flavorful. It was so good I couldn't stop eating it. Highly recommended! We ended our meal with the devil's advocate flourless chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream, which was delicious for being flourless. What a perfect way to end a tasty meal. My only complaint is the parking because we didn't know where we could park. We ended up getting a ticket because we thought we could park nearby. We started with the farmhouse beets, a delicious balance of beets, arugula and dressing topped with candied pecans. The portion was more than enough so we boxed some up to leave room for the main course. Our mains were the wagyu beef stroganoff and the trout filet with blistered green beans. The stroganoff and pappardelle arrived in its own covered dish, so hot it sat on a wood base. While it was a good comfort food dish I thought the horse radish was a little too forward for my taste. It was my companion's entree and she really enjoyed it and there was enough to take home. I had the trout filet with its crispy pepita topping served with blistered green beans. Very happy with my choice and it was also a generous portion. Dessert was the yuzu olive oil cake for my friend and butterscotch budino for me. I loved the balance of butterscotch, crème fraiche, salt and pecans. And the pecan cookie was a great accompaniment. She enjoyed her selection as well. Corkage fee is $20. From the ambiance to the food and service, it was another great experience here. Parking was easy with metered parking along Beverly.
