MUST TRY this new Mexican seafood grill in West Hollywood!! The food is excellent particularly the uber fresh ceviches, and the branzino just wow! I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes for the cost! Portion sizes in most places have gone down while the cost has risen, but not here! Very high value for the money. We also had dessert and the tres leches cake is out of this world! Also the grilled chicken is just exceptional! I haven't been blown away by anyone's chicken in a long time. It's juicy and tender and the smokiness from the grill is so intoxicating. The service was excellent as well, Erica was a delight and so attentive! Highly recommend this place I've been back three times in two months!

    Short rib tacos were AMAZING!!

Street meter parking. Amazing service by Cassandra! We had some fresh oysters, Baja fish, tacos, and the short rib tacos. They were all so amazing! For tacos were both flavored and had a great texture. It was not overcooked or rubbery at all. The Baja fish tacos were light and flaky. They were the best tacos we had ever eaten. And that's saying a lot since we eat at many different places for tacos. We will be coming back again!

Fantastic experience tonight for their Grand Opening Party. Parking was easily found around the corner and the atmosphere was very welcoming. They had a big balloon display outside with a red carpet as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony and a dj. Inside the tables were first come first served. My husband and I were able to easily find one. Since they were hosting this party all the food and drinks were included. We easily figured out the layout of the restaurant and everything went smoothly from then on. There was a bar on one side where you could order alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. The bar also had an area for self-serve chips, salsa and guacamole. On the other side of the bar was another self-serve raw seafood station. They had oysters, scallops, uni, etc. The kitchen was an open concept where you could walk up or stand nearby to watch the chefs cooking. The staff were all so friendly and the hospitality was fantastic. Now for all the tables - the best part was the waitresses and waiters would walk around with all the food and bring it straight to you. I can't even count the amount of food we ate but every single dish was so satisfying! We had several versions of tacos including short rib, ribeye, shrimp, fish and octopus. We also has tostadas, shrimp cocktails, etc. This went on for three entire hours to the point where we both left completely stuffed! During the event there was a raffle and several announcements introducing the staff as this a family-run restaurant. Overall it was a great event and I can't wait to be back!

9/3/2025 - This is a newly opened Mexican Grill, which specializes in seafood, two months ago. The staff are friendly and working hard to make every customer happy. Looking at the fresh seafood display lead me think this is an upscale seafood restaurant in Los Angeles, e.g., the live Uni is so good and fresh, which is very difficult to find in LA. If you like sweet, try this Tres Leches, a 5-star desert. The street paid parking in front of the restaurant is available, but no parking between 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At present, no Happy Hour and WiFi are available in the restaurant.

Talk about artisan Mexican Food the four brothers that own this place are from Oaxaca and they also own red fish, which is a sushi/Mexican place everything that they have there is made in house from their tortillas to their salsa to everything that's pickled their dessert their short ribs were amazing. They were slow roasted even stuff that is as simple as the cheese quesadillas were so good. The tortillas were made fresh there and they use fresh cheese. The guacamole is made there. The shrimp ceviche is out of this world and then they have three homemade hot sauces that they make delicious if you're gonna go for dessert try their Tres leches. It is probably the best I've ever tried.

Free samples outside! Blue fin tuna ceviche. They also offered lemonade.

Apparently new to the neighborhood, specializing in seafood. I walked by and they offered free samples of their lemonade and their blue fin tuna ceviche. Super friendly folks! Metered parking right out front.

This place deserves more patrons. Everything we've had here so far has been incredible, especially the ceviche. It's some of the best we've had. I can't recommend Dos Amantes enough.

We stopped in for lunch on a whim and ended up having some of the best Mexican food we've had. We tried a kanpachi ceviche, fish taco, tuna tostada, scallop aguachile and chicken quesadilla and everything was outstanding. We learned that the chef used to work at Holbox and honestly, while I do enjoy Holbox, I definitely preferred the food at Dos Amantes. I can't wait to return!

Came in randomly for lunch on a Tuesday, the whole restaurant looks awesome, the restaurant is new so they still had no alcohol but I was able to grab some food. The quality of the seafood I had, has to be some of the best in LA. I ordered the Kanpachi Tostada, Baja Fish taco and the taco de pulpo (not pictured because I destroyed it before remembering to take a pic....) But everything was so good, the sofrito in the octopus taco is so addictive, the salsas that come with it are so spicy but you just can't stop eating it. Everything was so good, and while I was having a conversation with the host/owner the chef sent out and extra taco for me to try, I really appreciate rhetorical hospitality shown by the owners and the chef! Will definitely come back to have a drink or two or 4 when you guys get that liquor license!

This place is amazing! It has recently opened in the neighborhood and the food is delicious. The ceviche was fresh, branzino was great, and they make their tres leches desert in house. I will definitely come back for more dinners! The inside looks very nice and you can see chefs working in the kitchen. Our server was great, he gave good suggestions on the menu and was very attentive the entire night. It's a great spot for dates and family/friends dinners.

He was informative about our selections giving honest feedback and attentive to the needs of our group. I will say the food not inexpensive but what food really is these days. We ordered a plethora of dishes. Starting with the tuna neck tin. While I'm new to the tin game, I couldn't imagine what a $90 tin tasted like, now I know and I'm not sure I can eat anything less. Appetizers we started with the baked scallop special with chorizo, the caviar fries and the caviar dip. The baked scallop was delicious and the cause dip with the salt vinegar chips was fantastic. I could still dip more chips in that dish. I chose between the mussels and the fried fish sandwich. Alex recommended the fish not because it was better than the mussels. But because you just can't get a fried fish sandwich like theirs. I agree. The fry breading they have is top notch and the size of the sandwich literally has me full still 7 hours later. I substituted the fries for a lightly dressed side salad and loved it all. Besides, other folks had chips and fries to share. Other dishes were the fried and cold lobster rolls. The bagel breakfast plate and fish and chips. We even got dessert which was the pistachios tiramisu and the strawberry cake. Both good but the tiramisu was next level. All washed down with a winter sangria Maybe that's why I am still full. See you again, saltie girl.

I got the skirt steak cooked medium rare -- flavor was good, but it was a little tough to cut. I think it would've paired even better with some garlic butter or chimichurri on the side. The pork chops were delicious and packed with flavor, but the spinach underneath was a bit too bitter for my taste. The mashed potatoes were creamy, soft, and comforting. We also loved the Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad -- both were super solid sides. Drinks were perfect and balanced out the dishes really well. Service and atmosphere were great too. This was actually my second visit. The first time, my husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a couple of items that were good, but I left feeling like maybe we just didn't order the right things. Since so many people seem to love this place, we decided to give it another shot. This time we came with a group of four and ordered a variety of dishes. We started with the octopus, tartare, and burrata appetizers. For pizzas, we had the Mortadella Pista and the Prosciutto with Truffle Oil Pista. We also ordered the Cacio e Pepe, mushroom risotto, and the Nutella dessert. The appetizers were okay, but the burrata was definitely the highlight. The pizzas were good and enjoyable, but nothing particularly memorable that would have me planning a return visit just for them. The Cacio e Pepe was decent, but the mushroom risotto was honestly the worst mushroom risotto I've ever had. It tasted like Campbell's cream of mushroom soup had been used as the base. The ambiance was nice, the service was good, and the drinks were enjoyable, but again, nothing felt especially memorable or exceptional. On a positive note, the prices were fair for what you get. Overall, I personally don't feel the need to come back. It's a perfectly fine meal, but with so many great dining options around, this just didn't stand out to me.

We came here all the time when we wanted something fresh, clean, new, and delicious. We loved their rotating specials and fish of the day (although I would always default to the monkfish whenever it was in the menu). Well, our last visit this past Saturday was memorable, and just as good (if not better) as our previous visits. We started off with some oysters, got the New England clam chowder, Parker rolls to dip them in, and my wife got the Saturday New England Boil Dinner special, and I got my monkfish. Everything was impeccable. And we had to finish the night with one of our favorite desserts in the city, the blondie. We'll miss this place, and we wish the best for the owners in their new endeavors. Hopefully they reopen in the future, because there will be a Connie and Ted's shaped hole in our hearts (and stomach).
