This place is definitely a "come for the food, not the experience" type of spot…read more First things first, it's in the hood and the vibe matches that. If you're shy or timid, this may not be the easiest place to order. If you try to order at the counter when they're even slightly busy (which is basically always), you'll need to speak up or you might get overlooked for a bit. I recommend using the little ordering kiosk to the left instead. It's much easier. The staff can come off short or a little rude, but I've also seen customers be pretty pushy, so it seems like they're mostly just focused on getting orders out without all the pleasantries and keeping things moving. I ordered the half chicken with rice and beans and mixed vegetables. The food is undeniable. The chicken is juicy with that perfect charcoal flavor, and the yellow sauce is ridiculously good. That said, the place itself could use some attention. The dining area was pretty dirty with crumbs and trash on the floor, and the tables didn't seem to get wiped down between customers (or ever?). It may just be because they're constantly busy, but it's noticeable. Also be prepared to wait. There are a lot of to-go and DoorDash orders, so even if it looks like only one person is ahead of you, there might actually be a dozen orders in the queue. I ended up waiting about 25 minutes before I asked about my order, and it seemed like it may have been forgotten or given to someone else. After that, it took another 10 minutes before I finally got my bag. Long story short: come here when you have time and aren't feeling sensitive. The food is excellent, but nothing else about the experience is particularly impressive. And honestly... I'm still going back . The chicken and that yellow sauce are just that good. Next time I'll probably try to order ahead though. Just know you can't order directly from their website, so you'll either need to call ahead or pay the higher prices on the delivery apps.

Ambiance is aesthetically pleasing with a country roadside shack motif. The bar area has TVs with sports and a great selection of craft beers and house specialty cocktails. The only drawback is that parking during peak working hours can be tricky with only street parking available as there are lots of small businesses and other restaurants in this area with the same issue. The Food is REALLY GOOD! I had the Pork & Pollock; a healthy lump of pulled pork with two pieces of battered and fried pollock, a cup of slaw and a side of your choice (I got the Cindy's Mac-n-cheese). I also added a side of their hushpuppies, and my only complaint is that my stomach was not big enough to finish it all. Tip: if your hushpuppies come out with their house made honey butter, just ask you will thank me latter. Various BBQ sauces are provided on the table for your meats and sides; my favorite was the sweet Memphis style. If you are in the area and hungry, I highly recommend finding a parking spot and swinging in!

Park and take a short walk because it's absolutely worth it. From the moment you walk in, the customer service is warm and welcoming. The food was excellent--fresh, well-seasoned, and served in generous portions. Everything tasted like it was prepared with care. Even the restroom was clean and fully stocked, which always says a lot about a place. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely be back again.

I enjoyed the Fried Chicken sandwich which also comes with boardwalk fries which are sinfully good. The chicken sandwich is a favorite with just the right amount of pickles, Surry ham, and arugula. The aioli is a nice and tasty addition to the sandwich. The Lobster Roll was also ordered at our table. It was enjoyed by the guest although it seemed like quite a small meal presentation especially for the price of $28.50. It was served on a small plate and just didn't look like a $30 dinner. We also ordered the Halloumi Fries which were underwhelming in size and taste. We love Halloumi so this was a bit of a disappointment. Our server was fantastic. She knew the specials and the happy hour deals etc for the night which I believe for us was 20% off of our glass of wine. She was friendly and prompt with everything. The ambiance is always nice here with dim lighting and a relaxing atmosphere.

To top it off we shared a pumpkin creme brûlée for desert. We had an amazing server who was really friendly and knew the menu by heart. She memorized all the day's specials alongside their prices and listed them off to us without any mistakes and even discussed in length what these food items were when we had questions. The prices are a little steep but the place is upscale and food is a bit on the fancier side. They serve authentic flavors and fantastic service and I think it's absolutely worth it. The space inside is small with a bar and has intimate lighting. Perfect for a cozy date with someone. There is also some outdoor seating as well. It is situated in the livelier part of Colley and sits right across Elation. It's nice to take a walk around afterwards to see what else is going on in the area! To the right of the restaurant they do have parking space but it is small and limited so anticipate potential street parking!

It's not fast-casual, but you're not waiting 30 minutes for your food. Expect at least 10 minutes for appetizers to arrive. Our entrees were ready in about 20, and the place was near capacity. The great thing about the wait? It was well worth it. Piping hot food, served with that homemade flavor arrives on dishes that almost match. I chuckled at the mismatched bowls that hit our table. I felt like family before my first bite. Meatloaf! I can't make one, but I'll eat one that is well made. Dense, flavorful and portioned to take some with you. My bonus was that I got my wife's leftovers, too. It was delicious! It was even better when I warmed it for lunch the next day. Traditional sides, worthy of their own review, but I'll keep it brief.
