I've been to A LOT of Mexican places, so when we were on vacation in Williamsburg, we decided to try this place. It wasn't that it was bad, or particularly good either, it was just okay! The service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy. We liked all of our meals, but there was nothing very memorable about it. And normally when there is fried ice cream on the menu, I have to get it-- but this is where the restaurant really slacked. Save your money, and don't get the fried ice cream. First time here and I'm not leaving disappointed. We just moved down the road and wanted to try this place, but were skeptical. Don't let the outside fool you - they are very friendly and prompt. I can't say enough great things about this place! Service was on point. We came in at around 5 on a Saturday and were greeted and seated right away (party of 5). A few other tables but not many, which had me worried. There was another large party that looked well taken care of. Food was delicious!!! Portion sizes were good and prices were below what most places would charge. LOVE THE FREE CHIPS AND SALSA AND CHEESE! Fantastic service! We are outside on a Friday night! Got seated right away and had a cute little high top table with an umbrealla! I got fajitas and usually they are so seasoned and salty I instantly swell up. These were delicious and not too salty! My husband got a pork dish that was fantastic! The margarita....top notch! In an area with not many good restaurant options, El Sabor was a very pleasant surprise! It's small, and loud, and doesn't look like much from the outside. But the quality of the food is among the best of any similar restaurant in the area, while the prices are family-friendly. And the wait staff very extremely nice and efficient. I have finally found an INCREDIBLE Mexican food joint. The most authentic in the area by far. I don't understand the white ranchy salsa which seems so prevalent in this area..but that's not a reflection on El Sabor, just an afterthought I suppose...I digress. I ordered their margarita, (perfect ratio of mix/ice/tequila) queso dip (also fabulous) and their Enchilada Rancheras. I usually shy away from any meat besides my beloved poultry..but that pork was ON POINT! I have never had such a delicious plate of mouth watering food..I swear I wasn't hungry for two days after.
