I'm updating my previous 5-star review based on my lunch at Pineda yesterday…read more I'm lowering my assessment to FOUR stars because, while the quality of the food, service, and facilities are still top notch, the owners have continued to raise prices to the point where the value is questionable. One example (based on my menu photo in 2021): The zarandeado then was $190. It's now $445. That's a pretty significant jump. In addition to the increased prices they've dropped many items from their menu and in some cases reduced portions. My waiter told me that they removed the rice and bean side dishes from the "family platters" and the Mexicans, especially, were (!understatement alert!) "displeased." I can understand why: Prices up; selection and quantity down. The impact of this business decision shows. I've been there now a couple of times in Peak Snowbird Season and both times there's been no problem getting a table; it's just not nearly as crowded as it has been previously. Shame, really. I like this place; the food is great, the service is great, the cleanliness is great, the view is great. But coming in with smaller portions, reduced choices, and increased prices is really taking its toll on Pineda. PS: While the Tostada Mixta is one of the starters that's been stripped from the menu, my waiter was kind enough to persuade the kitchen to make one for me anyway (market price).

One of their most iconic dishes was El Kraken, a whole small octopus, grilled and served with potatoes and tzatziki. From the taco menu, the Tres con Todo were three "tuna al pastor" tacos made of cubes of tuna with pineapple, sprouts, radish, and creamy avocado on two fried tacos--creative, but nothing too outstanding flavorwise. We continued with the Pal'Mito salad, made of hearts of palm, sundried tomatoes, avocado, spinach, bacon, and seared tuna. The Churrasco de Salmon was a perfectly tender salmon filet topped with a cream sauce and served with plantain puree and grilled corn on the cob. Finally, the Pesca del Dia was a fillet of snapper topped with mussels in pesto sauce and served over plantain puree--super tasty, though the pesto definitely overwhelmed any other flavors in this dish. Overall, the food here was all delicious and beautifully plated. The flavors were bold, the prices reasonable, and the service was super friendly too!

A friend told us to come here for their oysters, sadly on the day we went, there were no oysters…read more But that's okay, after going through the Yelp pictures and reviews, fellow yelpers highly recommends their el kraken (the octopus)! It turned out to be the highlight of our meal! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Not overcooked at all. It was delicious! Also their bone marrow appetizer was pretty tasty as well. Their ceviche was just ok. I've had better ceviches in Mexico. There were too much veggies in it in my opinions. If you are in the area, it is worth checking out! Come for their octopus!
