After a long day of venturing off in the sea , snorkeling and going to the hidden beach ; We were starving. We were told this place had good seafood. We got to the place & you can tell the place is good because it looked like a lot of locals /Tourist were there. We waited about 15-20 minutes to be seated. We ordered guacamole,Fish ceviche, shrimp aguachile, marlin tostada, and Pulpo with mashed potatoes & French fries. The guacamole was delicious. The fish ceviche & pulpo were my favs. The pulpo was super tender and the mashed potatoes were excellent! It actually went great with the pulpo . There was also this sauce ( soy sauce , onions , Serrano peppers ) that tasted amazing with the pulpo . No complaints. The food was excellent & the prices were pretty cheap compared to the mediocre hotel food that charges $$$ for food that doesn't even taste decent. Super happy we got to try 8 Tostadas. read more

The servers are on their toes and speedy. When we went...there was a wait. But they moved people through quickly and it was obvious it was a local place. There was even a birthday celebration at one table which made the atmosphere festive and fun. The food was served quickly and was fresh and good. We only had Vallarta style ceviche and it was great. This is probably the best seafood we've had in our many, many trips to PV. What an excellent local spot, with great good and great service! They have a kids menu. Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Servers are very attentive and accommodating. We ordered an adult beverage and a virgin for the kids. They both tasted like virgins. Without hesitation, the server took one back and made another one with alcohol. No big deal. Stuff happens. If you don't like seafood, the pasta is amazing. The Gorgonzola penne is to die for. So rich and flavorful. You wouldn't think you would get good pasta in Mexico but we would be wrong. I ordered the Red Snapper. I wasn't prepared to receive a full fish on my plate, that was a different than what I was used to but it was amazing. Short walk from the Sheraton through the park. It was safe even as it got dark. No issues for those that are worried about safety. The next day, we spoke with a local that said that is his favorite restaurant around for seafood. read more

If this place is in Puerto Vallarta man it is great. Mostly seafood. I'm not much on seafood but this place changed my mind. It was delicious. Drinks where very cool and also delicious. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Plenty of waiters and restaurant had nice decorations. We went back 3 times. Yum yum! read more

I just returned from PVR and to my surprise this local restaurant is one of the best in PVR. I went there 3 times during my trip. Clean, great service and the food is wonderful and fresh. I owned my own restaurant in San Francisco, California for several years. When I find a good restaurant I pass on to all my clients and friends. I am in the travel business and will be sending all my clients to 8 Tostadas. I met the owner Cynthia and she remember me on my return. Very impressive. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time coming here, because it'll be closed, even during their posted business hours. We showed up on two separate days during our trip (Sunday 12/11/22 at 6pm and Tuesday 12/13/22 at 1:30pm) because it was highly recommended by a trusted relative of ours. Both times it was closed! We were prepared to spend a lot of money there but if they don't want it and would rather keep their doors shut, that's their prerogative, I suppose. We took our business to Juan Tiburón instead -- and they were happy to have it! read more

This is what you are looking for for a lunch or dinner or snack stop. The staff was so friendly and accommodating we felt like family. They're known for Mariscos which is seafood options. We tried several including the fish tostadas the shrimp cocktail and the fish chicharonnes. Everything was up to par they also had an amazing green salsa that went with everything :-) read more

My son and friend ordered the special of the day which was grilled snapper cooked with fennel in a very light cream sauce. This place is a short walk from the Sheraton Buganvilias on the other side of the municipal sports complex. They cater to a quiet local crowd. Very good food. Welcoming staff. No credit cards. We loved it. There are 2 varieties of mussels. My wife loved the large ones (maybe from New Zealand). I have some heart issues & they made me an off menu salad/veggie plate with rice that was delightful & inexpensive. There are at least a couple 8 Tostadas locations. The one near the marina has more of a sports bar personality. This one is just our speed. Highly recommended. read more
