    Lengua burrito
    Lesley L.

The main reason I came here was for the lengua and it did not disappoint, it was soft and succulent. Got it in a burrito, which was a good size, perhaps a little smaller than Chipotle, but not by much. It comes with beans, Mexican rice, and pico de Gallo. I thought it was tasty, split it with my dad. We each got one taco. Another reason I was excited to try this spot is they have a sandwich board around the corner saying they make their own tortillas, but I wonder if that's true, as I saw multiple bags of branded tortillas sitting in the kitchen. I got the carnitas, which was more dry and salty than I would like, which is why I took off a star. My dad got an asada taco. I tried some of the beef, it was tender and moist, a better choice than the carnitas. Tacos cone with white onion, cilantro, and a tomatillo salsa. Most are $2.75, but they have a sign advertising $2 on Tuesdays! Service is friendly, everyone was wearing masks, took 10-15 min to get my food. Feels like a healthier option than Taco Bell!

This is the employee who stated she did not care they self tipped

THEY STOLE MONEY FROM US DO NOT GO HERE. I went with my friend and they self added their own tip without our consent. When we went back to request a refund, the employee stated that they did not care and refused to give us a refund for the added tip they did.

This is the employee saying it's our fault that they added their own tip.

THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU DO NOT GO HERE. They will charge you illegally by adding their own tip. They also claim that this happens all the time but they won't do anything about it. And refused to refund. She also says she doesn't care that happened.

On Friday nights my former BIL who is also a beloved uncle to my teenager often ventures to the west side from his eastside apartment for a real dinner, air conditioning, and tv time with my kid. They watch cartoons and anime together. They have a bond. He is in his 40s she is almost 16. He either picks up takeout or I cook for them. This time he and I wanted to try a new Mexican micro restaurant in Bethany so I called in our food around 7 and let them know he would be picking up around 7:30. They close at 8. Micro restaurants are like a brick and mortar food truck btw. You take it home or eat it outside there at the patio tables. The place has the usual suspects on their menu: burritos, tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, salads, etc.The prices seem pretty reasonable. He got a carnitas burrito. He added cheese and guacamole for another $2.50. Both were scarce, he said. Also he anticipated sour cream from seeing the description on the menu ( it says "and source cream") but did not find any. Still he gave it a 3.5 because the meat was nicely flavored and he enjoyed it. He does not like spicy food so he was happy it was mild. The kid chose a Mexican Caesar salad. On the phone I asked the very nice young lady to please tell me what is in it and they said tortilla chips, romaine, and chicken. Having seen sliced avocado on the yelp sites photos from the restaurant I asked to have that added. They said they could add a side of guacamole. My teen liked the salad but there were no chips to be seen. The dressing was deemed delicious and the guac was passed to me because onions. The teen said "4.5." The chicken was pronounced "tasty." If they have sliced avocado in their photos it would be nice to have it added in their salad or available to be added for a fee. My burrito bowl with carne asada was pretty good. Definitely a fair sized portion. I would say the meat was a little chewy, the rice and beans were both pretty bland but the pico de gallo was fresh and the guacamole was delicious. I had no sour cream either which I think was also noted on the menu. I longed for hot sauce which I neglected to tell the uncle to look for for us.I forget he does not think of hot sauce when we are somewhat fixated on it! Finally my food was cold which was disappointing. I do not know how long it waited for us. I would say it was a 3 for me. All in all it was good enough to try again, I am giving it a four overall, but I think it needs a little tweaking to be really awesome.I have big hope. Tons of potential. If they add a breakfast burrito to their repertoire that would be wonderful. :)

I tried this spot for the first time today after several recommendations. I ordered veggie nachos and a fish taco. Both were delicious and authentic! I highly recommend this family owned restaurant. I will be back to tour the menu more! Go try it for yourself!

I didn't have high expectations for this new restaurant, and it seems my instincts were right. Let's get the universal complaint out of the way. Yes, the tacos are expensive. There is no reason for a 4oz taco to cost $3. This is what most of the feedback I've heard has been. That said, $0.75 an ounce is fair enough if the food is fresh, well prepared, and filling. Unfortunately, none of these apply. After one in my party finished her 3 tacos, she spent the next hour looking for anything else she could eat on the cheap (given that she'd spent nearly $10 on what felt to her like almost nothing). I myself ordered a burrito. Much better value, a standard, though perhaps on the small side, burrito for $7.50, stuffed with meat (Carnitas in my case), sour cream, Pico de Gallo, rice, and beans. With half the burrito consisting of rice, I would think the rice would have to be rather well seasoned and tasty. Nope. Despite the telltale orange color of Mexican style rice, the grain tasted as bland as bland can be. The meat was similarly lackluster in seasoning, as were the beans. If I want a similar portion of burrito in Bethany, I'll just order two from taco bell next time (or one from koi fusion if I weren't so averse to Kim chi slaw). The sauces were of decent quality and flavor, though a bit on the spicy side. Probably my favorite part of the menu. Unfortunately, they were self serve from a chest style fridge that smelled of methane. This place does have a couple redeeming qualities, however, and thus gets 2 stars instead of one: the staff are very kind and patient. The ordering experience was pleasant, unhurried and clear. The menu is straightforward and easy to read, and the soda cans are only $1.

Ordered the asada burrito! It was delicious and packed!!! By far one of the best burritos in the Portland area. I'm from Los Angeles and know a good burrito

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

It is the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable settling into. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, and the service was genuinely great throughout. We ordered the Quekas with vegan chorizo and black beans and they were SO good, honestly a standout. The chips and guac were also a hit, and I loved that the guac was actually cold. Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Also, the Tetela de Requeson, maiz, beans and sprouting broccoli with a house made requeson - kind of like ricotta cheese - very beautifully plated and so delicious. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Right now open for lunch Thursday through Sunday 10-3pm. No fixed menu, changes with what's fresh - the way chef Angel loves to cook respecting what is in season.
