But make sure you bring cash or your debit card since this is a cash or debit card only location. They do not accept credit cards. For debit, you have to purchase a minimum of $10. I came here for the famed Cajitas. Cajitas are mexican baked goods that are famous in the state of Guerrero, MX. The baker supposedly is from Guerrero herself and also uses the original Guerrero recipe. At only $2 a Cajita, it is a steal, considering they are hardly not found elsewhere. Parking can be a little tight since it's part of a small shopping center. I came here during my lunch hour and thankfully was able to find a parking spot. A carniceria in Westminster?! My prayers have been answered! I was born and raised so close to the Mexico border you could see it from my backyard. Mexican food was always a heavy influence in my life growing up and now that I have moved to Garden Grove/Westminster area, I have been dreading having to make a drive to the next city over to get authentic Mexican ingredients for cooking.. El Serranito has been my answer to fresh and traditional ingredients without the lines of North Gate, and without having to go to the next city over. Shoot, this place is so close I occasionally walk there. Seemingly family owned and possibly operated small establishment tucked away in the corner of a busy plaza on a busy Westminster Blvd. Keep your eyes peeled otherwise you'll miss it. Been coming here for years but first time leaving a review. I've tried other carnicerías but none of them come close to the juiciness and seasoning of their taco meats. Love the staff here. Small pop and mom store but you gotta support small business especially when they have some melanin! Their carne asada is always a go to for me and my family. We LOVE it!! What's with the long face all the time? I stop going to this place so often because of their bad customer service. Butchers don't care about customers. The atmosphere feels tense. This place has the worst customer service ever. The butcher (specifically the woman) is a huge b**** and let me add the owner's wife and daughter. They fall into that category as well. They all seem bitter. Maybe it's because the Carnicería is so small or maybe it's the fact that it smells, or maybe that the parking lot is so small. I don't know what's up their you know what. The other day I purchased some chicken breasts. I asked the butcher to slice them into smaller slices. Apparently, that was enough to send him huffing and puffing. When he weighed the meat he put in a different price than the one that was on the counter. I asked him why and he told me that the price had gone up. I know for a fact is isn't true because I've been coming for years and I know that the price has always remained the name. So when the woman butcher caught wind of what was going on, she rudely interrupted and said that the price had changed. Soon after the owner's daughter started to argue with me as well. Then I find out that the reason they were charging more was because I asked them to slice the chicken breast into thin slices. I don't mind paying the extra fee, but why are they lying saying the price when up when that wasn't the case? This is upsetting because the owner is actually really sweet. It's the other people that make this place so terrible. I was willing to make the drive and suffer to find parking, power through the smell, but I don't know anymore. These people really need to learn a lesson or two about customer service. read more

The small shopping plaza shares the parking area with other small businesses and it is always packed with cars. Luckily other customers are quick to purchase and are in and out in no time. It is definitely the best and fresh carne asana meat in town!! My bf and I used to go to Vallarta by Anaheim on Lincoln but it was too far and the meat was not that good, it was very salty and not tasty. Their carne asada meat is very TASTY!! One word! Authentic! Nuff said lol. The owner is a genuinely nice guy. How nice? I asked the man if he can grind my beef a certain way and he took his time and did what I asked at no charge. No huffing and puffing and without an extra fee! People like Senor Thomas almost don't exist anymore. I don't know the guy. This place has terrible service. My mom has been a long time customer and has dealt with their horrible attitudes on many occasions. Who knows why because their meat isn't even the best. The owner's daughter and wife are the worst when it comes to the customer service. They take the crowns for their rudeness right along with the woman butcher. Parking isn't great, the meat is ok, but their customer service is atrocious. I hope the owner sees how rude these people are and makes a stop to this. read more

The best Carne Asada I can find around and it ain't easy to get there from Huntington Beach. I went to another place that shall remain nameless and was closer to HB, but the marinade just wasn't correct. When I buy this meat, and BBQ it back at the beach, everyone loves it. Also I let the meat sit in my fridge for like 4 days and call me crazy, but when I cook it after 4 days in the fridge, it seems tastier and more tender. read more

With the closure of La Bodega ranch market I've had a hard time finding a butcher that has good carne asada. With that said, I picked up 2 lbs of carne asada from this place and wasn't disappointed. The meat was lean and tender and came up to about $5.99 a pound. It wasn't La Bodega good, but it came in as a close second. I absolutely recommend their carne asada and would be happy to eat it again. If I'd never had the carne asada at Bodega, I would have given this place 5 stars. read more

I use to come here on emergencies only and what did it for me was a few months back I purchased cotija cheese and it was moldy so I didn't bother to take it back, but the next time I went back I mentioned to the meat butcher and he didn't bother to apologize he just said "oh that's weird because no body else has complained. I was blown away on how unprofessional he was. I complained to the cashier who by the way is an older lady and very rude all the time and she didn't really care either. I stopped coming here because their customer service is horrible and it's sucks because they do it to their own people.
