Let me just say that you're better off going to the redneck area in the High Desert to get a birthday cake. The employees here are snakes, they like to steal receipts and lie about the toys on the cakes, saying that you have buy them separately but there wasn't anything stating that. The cakes are already on some up my ass prices type shit. And the cake didn't even taste all that good. These mfs probably think they're on some Cake Boss level, hell nah. They're on that Cajon High School student level. Mediocre stuff. Today I went with my daughter to purchase some things , went to the chip aisle and read the sign that said buy 3 chips and get the discount so I did exactly that ! , I go to register 4 where some older lady was working at , she started yelling at me not talking "Yelling", telling me that those Cheeto puffs weren't part of the discount only lime chips and she kept yelling at me saying I can't read , "Read the sign " and so on I kept going back and forth trying to tell her those chips where also part of the sale and she kept going at it like over 3 times ! And I told her it was Cheeto puffs at well and she goes there all hot Cheetos and when I told her just scan the 3 rd bag to see the whole time I was right ! I tried speaking to the manager and they told me "you can talk to the encargada here " and the whole time it was her so I left , I've never been so upset at any store before , what kind of costumer service is that , where costumers are treated like crap and children that can't read . I purchased a package of El Super tostadas yesterday, when I open to eat them, they were stale (old) so I took them back today, cashier I went to did not know how to proceed, he asked his co-worker, they girl asked me when I had gotten, I told her yesterday, then she asked if they were from the top of the shelf, I told her I grab 1st package I saw, then she went on to say, cause the top ones are old and that's what sign says, I could not believed what she said, why are items out on shelves if they are "old" am no expert, but isn't it illegal to sell 'expire' items for human consumption? read more

Just recently was in this Store near watermark Avenue. The prices are cheap but some vegetables are either old, or dry . Just have to be careful what I buy in Here. Another thing,are the cashiers are 2 lines open early in the morning for more than 10 customers. The service. From the employees are ok. The store cleanliness inside is ok. It could be better. Outside in the parking lot is terrible and scary. I don't know the area is not even safe. People yelling in Spanish and homeless around is not pleasant. This store is horrible the lines are very long and they always overcharge you and try to charge you for items that you didn't buy. When I say something about being overcharged the employees get mad and sometimes will not give you your money back even though I didn't buy the products I am being charged for and end up taking your receipt. read more

I been coming to this store for years, however this is the last day I will come to this store for sure . As I order a Lemon Chi water, the kitchen manager was super rude, she was cleaning the cash drawer as she was flirting with the security guard and didn't even acknowledge that I was in line waiting to order something. I didn't say anything I just waited for someone to help me and I order my water and went on my way. As I payed and got my stuff and left the door I forgot my water in the counter, I went back to the cashier (Sofia A) and I told her hey I'm sorry I forgot my water she lied to my face and told I didn't leave there, as I told yes I did it was just right here I forgot it here about 5 minutes and I know you saw it because I saw you. Cleaning the area. Sofia was very rude and she said you need to speak to the manager, they called manager and the manager was more rude and said yes we can't have anything in the counter, I told I understand but I purchased the water here and I want a water because you guys threw away my chia water. She told the other catchier to get me my water the funny thing is that she knew what kind it was and everything Funny thing Sofia because I thought you didn't see my water yet your manager knows what kind of water it is. Huh, they Finally gave me my water and got me a small one because she said I had already drank some of my large Lemon and chia water. I do have to say I didn't drink most of my water like she claimed and if they didn't see my water because supposedly I didn't leave it there how did they know it was a large one. Honestly this is not the first time I have the staff at the super be rude to me or my family, this is like a daily thing for them. They are always in a crappy mood and not very helpful. I love walking into here for a few reasons the tacos in the kitchen area. The shrimp in the kitchen area. I love the veggies and fruits varieties. The things you have to be careful are when you are walking into the store. Crazy drivers never watching where they are going when people are crossing to walk into grocery store from parking lot. It is a Mexican grocery store so it smells like one. Not a organic store I mention this because others complian it smells in there .Well Sprouts smells one way El super smells another way. Every grocery store smells different. The lines are always long wished they had self check out for 10 items or less. I love there pastries section. This place is the worst excuse for a grocery store. You buy fruit and it spoils in 2 days and that's the best part. I bought chicken breast and when I got home to cook it the smell was like something had died. I went back and they pretty much said, "too bad". If I could leave ZERO stars I would. My mother and I have been customers for many years. However, we do not feel this location is maintaining food quality and safety standards like they used to. Today I went to do our weekly shopping. To make a long story short I purchased 6 lbs of bulk chicken leg from the meat counter and it was expired. Yes they gave me spoiled meat!!! It wasn't until I arrived home that I noticed a distinct awful Odor. When I opened the bag the meat was slimy, had green/gray discolored areas. (Green Mold). I immediately drove back to the store and spoke to the manager about the incident. The manager didn't seem to care and showed no sympathy. He sure didn't seem surprised that I was given rotten meat. Which makes me believe this is not the first time someone complains about their meat department. This is unacceptable. There is no excuse for such shameful behavior. I can't believe they are getting away with this. Absolutely disgusting. Not to mention the store always looks dirty, the meat demartment always has a foul rotten smell and flies everywhere. I am reporting them to the health department for selling spoiled food and deceiving customer by hiding the green discolored areas. Food poisoning can be life-threatening, They are putting individuals health at risk. The store manager needs to do his due diligence and check the meat before putting it out. Not sure why this was rated so poorly. It's in a rural area and caters to the Spanish speaking community perfectly. It provides them with a comfortable place to shop without language barriers. That in itself deserves five stars. read more

the prices are better than staters for produce, and meat, the produce is fresh almost all the time, except in the evening you do have long lines that take forever, and only two registers open. If you are willing to come at a non-busy time, or wait it out you could score a fair deal on their items. read more

Absolute worst grocery market experience we have ever had. Never been in an El Super before, needed some items plus a desert for a dinner at relatives. Walked in and the place looked unorganized but I didn't really mind. The bakery was up front so we wanted to grab the cake first. What got me is when I wanted to ask for a cake, there was no line or mode of number taking or any organized way of being waited on. You could not access the cakes unless you waited for an employee... and it was at least 10 minutes just to point at a cake. She walked away without explaining what was going on. She was fiddling with a small machine and then she called her manager. They finally got back with me and handed me a sticker. It turns out we could not get the cake in our shopping basket until we paid for it, take the receipt back as proof and then and only then will they relinquish the $8.99 cake to our possession. We went to the reisters, there were not enough open, it took a while. When I got back with the receipt, I had to wait again for her to finish with her new customer to show proof of payment. When I finally got her attention and showed her the receipt she said she will get my cake ready. After a bit she handed me my cake in a box way to small for it and when I asked for the cake plastic large enough, she said those are for other cakes. There were at least 50-70 plastics on the table but I couldn't get her to place it in a container that would accommodate my cake... unbelievable. After I got the cake I decided not to purchase my other items nor will I every be a customer of El Super again. Awful experience! Yelp please offer half or quarter stars so I don't have to give this place a "full" star. read more
