We decided to do taco Wednesday and there's only one place to come in town, the Northgate Market. Sadly, they didn't have the fresh street taco tortilla today so we have to buy the brand ones. Sadly, this is the 1st time I was disappointed in the store. They were understocked on everything. Pan Dulce, flan, tortillas, salsas, everything. The service was still ok. I repeat DO NOT! pass up on this gem. My personal favorite is the Barbacoa tacos. Loaded with plenty of carne and double corn tortillas. They are served with some grilled onions and a spicy jalapeño that satisfies your taco throw-down. The tortas and burritos are also delicious. I love that I don't have to drive very far to enjoy fresh produce and my Hispanic favorites at a reasonable price. This location is still new and I am really enjoying the cleanliness and upkeep of everything. I can always expect to be greeted at the service counters for fresh sweets, hot foods, aguas, and carne. Nothing like Hispanic hospitality at the markets. I strictly come here for the things I can't purchase at my local stores, like fresh tamales, carnitas, fresh (and delicious) bolillos and pan dulce, and again that's not to mention the abundance of beautiful and affordable produce. You can also purchase tacos just to the right of the entrance, before or after the shopping. I've tried the tacos and they were average for me, so I can't rave about it, but it does the job for satisfying the bite to eat after grocery shopping. Since I have a wonderful experience at their Costa Mesa store , I decided to try this store in Fontana because I was around the area today. My verdict? It's like day and night. People who work in Fontana is not welcoming. They are not smiling nor happy being there today. They look grumpy and not very welcoming .As I was at the cashier , the light on her stall was ON, this cashier ignored me ( I was the only customer ) the whole time I was standing there infront of her. What she was doing? Talking to her colleague . I know the colleague knows Iam there but they both ignored me. I felt bad.I should have said something like " HELLO" but I didn't . I just took all my things and place it back inside the basket and head to the next cashier which was two stalls away from her. As my things were being checked out , I look at the other cashier and she was looking at me as she was checking out other customers things. As I stood there, I was thinking bad things etc... it was a negative experience. I wont come back on this Fontana store. Food? I bought some of their hot foods and it was tasty. Ambiance ? Workers are all grumpy. No smiling. Poor customer service or lack of it.There this one lady working at the produce area and she was looking at me as if Iam there to steal something.. she was passing me by and looking at me weird..hahahha... weird experience. This place is all the hype lately, so I decided to check it out for myself! That's right, I recently visited Northgate Market, the new market that has lots of different Mexican food! This is a BRAND NEW market that recently opened in Fontana, and I was blown away by the cleanliness and modernity of the store. The store is very well-organized and easy to navigate. In addition to the normal grocery sections you'd come to expect of any typical market, they have a fantastic selection of fresh food available around the edges of the store, including sushi, tortillas, and other tasty fresh food. To the left, there is a bakery where you can purchase Pan Dulce bread. They even have a water station (agua fresca) near the entrance (right when you walk in, you'll see it, and can't miss it!). They have a variety of different agua fresca's to choose from. I tried the Strawberry one, and it was absolutely delicious - one of the best agua fresca's I've had. There is a taco/burrito place right outside of the store, to the right of the entrance. I tried their tacos and it was OK - nothing special, but not too bad either. Unfortunately, when I visited the taco/burrito place, it took them over 20 minutes to prepare my food, which is unusual for tacos/burritos as they are typically something that can be served quickly. There were two different people in front of me that were frustrated and asked for refunds. I asked the staff about it and they told me that they were training new staff, so hopefully this isn't the case in the future. Overall, I still recommend checking out Northgate Market - I'd say it can be compared to a Whole Foods in a sense. I will definitely be returning to Northgate Market (I love Mexican food!) read more

I was trying to buy some salsa guacamole specifically I asked the individual working the counter if I could get the fresh made one she told me she didn't understand what I was talking about. I was trying to point it out. She told me she only spoke Spanish, so I was trying to explain. I told her I want a salsa with no spice. no customer service whatsoever. This is the last time I go and spend money in this store that individual has no education started shouting, and getting all crazy. I just walked out. I advised one of the cashiers they can review the tape. She was really crazy and she's having a bad day and she shouldn't bring it to work. By far one of the cleanest Mexican Supermarkets. The produce is always fresh and reasonably priced, in addition, their hot food is delicious. I personally love the Rajas con Crema! This is my favorite, so delicious. The cook was kind enough to come out and share how to make it. I purchased eight chilis and paid under $3.00, the Crema w/ Out Sal was $2.50. Came here for lunch with some friends. Didn't get to go into the market, it looked huge with a lot of choices and selections. Definitely will shop around next time. But I did order lunch right outside their market. They have a little restaurant. You can go up and place your order and they'll call you when it's ready. There is seating outside. I ordered the carne asada torta...so delicious! Definitely recommend. They also have specials at different days of the week so check it out if you're in the area. Not very good buffet food, the chicken soup flavoring was ok, but the cut of meat ised in the carnotas was almost un edible tough. Maybe baking in the warm lights to long. The shrimp cake had the seafood market tase going on from the dried shrimp blended up. It over powered the whole plate. I dis enjoy the chicharrones verdes. And the Ffijoles charros. It also was super pricey for two lunch size small containers for two and one mini chocken soup and jarritos it came out to $56 but i woild probably get a few other things next time To see the consumistency. The store was very clean but it also new construction under a year old. I think i might go back to the Cardenas for their pollo rostisado special. ‍ i still Love u northgate. Oh and to comment on the waitstaff and the service there were people behind the bakery counter but the layout of where to stand in line or if uou pay the weighed meals with them or at register wasnt very easy to figure out.
