YUM. The other reviewers were right, and I'm glad I listened. SO good. Excellent portions and really nice service, too. The tacos and even the vegetarian burrito (huge, I had the other half for lunch today) were authentically Mexican delicioso. The tortillas themselves were so good I ordered one on its own and she gave me honey to put on it. They do have horchata and aguas frescas, including sandia (watermelon), and offered to refill before we left. So glad we stopped!! The inside is larger and cleaner than you'd guess from the outside. Great Mexican food right off the main drag, Highway 160. I loved their aqua fresca (watermelon) and my beef chimichanda was full of flavor.

Much of the food is so so to me, but they do have a few gems on the menu! I forget what that burrito is called with the steak and guacamole but it's awesome! The only negative experience I had was ordering enchiladas with a sour cream sauce. They should have just said they didn't have it available because I got some dry enchiladas with a side of sour cream lol. Miscommunication I guess! Choices for vegetarians and the serious carnivore. What the hell is this doing in Alamosa? Please open one closer to denver!! The food: enchiladas, tacos, tostadas, nachos - all fresh, tasty, finger licking good. They have a salsa bar with pickled carrots and jalapeños, 3 salsas. Fresh Jamica, we had the rolled tacos, and carne asada and adobada tacos and they were great. Nice selection of salsas and some pickled carrots and cabbage at the salsa bar. Great prices. This is where the locals eat. Good seating too felt like a real restaurant except the food was served on styrofoam. read more

Wow! Saw the other five star reviews of this place and was a sceptic as I walked in. It's set up like a fast food restaurant, where you order at a counter and pick it up when it's ready. Your food is served on disposable plates if your eating there, and disposable takeout dishes for carry out. They bring your food out in about 7 minutes, and provide a wide choice of chiles for your sauce needs. The food itself is where they really shine! A good selection of Mexican food that doesn't taste phony, but like authentic Mexican food should. Please just stop by this place and find out for yourself. This little place is excellent. Everything is freshly made to order. We ordered the Carne Asada Fries, Chile Verde Burrito, single Carne Asada Street Taco, side of Tortilla Chips and a side of Guacamole. The Carne Asada fries came loaded with meat, which was a plus. The Chile Verde Burrito was stuffed with flavorful pork meat and Spanish rice, which was light and fluffy. The street taco was full of flavorful meat. They make the tortilla chips onsite and were nice and warm. They have a nice salsa bar where you can make your own selections from warm to hot. I was driving through from Breckinridge, CO to Phoenix, AZ and saw this place on yelp. I figured it would be a good place to stop for lunch. I got the Machaca Plate and was rewarded with a fantastic lunch. I received a tortilla, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice, machaca and eggs. The name is no lie, in fact it is under representative of the tacos here. They are not merely super, they go far beyond that. They are the best tacos I've had since I was in Brownsville, Texas, which is right on the border and has the best ever tacos out of anywhere I've been. These were pretty close. I could eat these every day, they're so good. The salsas are ok, the green one (I think) wasn't too spicy, the others were good and had a bit of heat. They have a condiment bar with the spicy pickled carrot, onion, and jalapeno, as well as green onion sticks and cucumber if I recall. Anyways, I'll be back here next time I'm in Alamosa. read more

This is my second favorite Mexican restaurant. Food is good and authentic. I asked for a combo not on the menu and they complied. However, the ice machine for the Coke dispenser was not working. They did nothing. The music was too loud and then they turned on a different radio and had two stations going at once. Their service is going downhill. read more
