Small little shop, but what I've tried so far has been delicious! The super nachos ($7.75) comes with lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, beans and shredded cheese with your choice of meat. I usually have it with carne asada. It's not a cheesy nacho so it can get a little dry, but nothing a little hot sauce can't fix! Lol. I've tried their burritos and it was also pretty good. DELICIOUS. I literally scarfed down 3 carne asada tacos in 10 minutes.. and that includes pouring on the hot sauce and drinking water in between mouthfuls of carne asada. those carne asada tacos are freaking delicious.. so so SO delicious that I never want to move out of Southern California because I know they won't be like this in any other state. I want more. The hot sauce isn't that spicy. King Taco's hot sauce definitely gives much more of a kick, but its still great. King Taco is all the way in LA, but at least I got Taco Llama to get my carne asada tacos fix. read more

this is my first time visiting El Taco Llama with my girlfriend; i found them on YELP looking for good Tortas as my girlfriend and I love them. The place...to be honest is quite a hole-in-the-wall dump lol but not a dump to which you would walk away from, one of those dumps or dives as Guy Fieri would call it, that make you want to check out the food! So we take a look at the menu and decide on what we want. first the cashier is rude as hell; first she loses a receipt and just lets it go and when my girlfriend picks it up to give back she just nudges it and doesn't even say thank you. Then when i am ordering, (before i continue, i do not speak spanish nor am i mexican, but my girlfriend is) i order and talk in english before my girlfriend talks, and the cashier keeps talking back in spanish...and each time I'm like what i don't speak spanish, so she changes to englsh (which she is perfectly fluent) and then goes back to spanish!! only reason I'm not giving this a 5/5 stars lol anyways now to the delicious food! i ordered the torta de pierne; a fully loaded torta with SO MUCH meat!! juicy, tender, amazing meat so delicious and ugh so good! like literally soaking in Mexican God's marinade. The bread was soft and delicious, soaked up the juices; there was not too much lettuce, but a good amount of guacamole, veggies, and mayo! there is also a side of pickled turnips, carrots, and jalapeños, a great crunch and spice with each bite! My girlfriend got the Torta Milenese which i took a bite; same fillings except with fried chicken and it was tender, thin, and delicious! also a few layers of chicken but very filling! both of us shared an Horchata which was sweet, refreshing, and delicious we each just had a torts and it was so filling, we did not even need chips! OK, after having my heart set on a burrito from Big Burrito Taqueria all day long, I found out that when I got there, they were closed (they close at 7PM)!!! So having remembered this place, I shlepped over there, thinking I'd have to "settle" for it instead. Wow!! I think it's just as good, if not better than Big Burrito! Especially the carne asada tacos. I've now gone back 3 more times, and have yet to be disappointed. I've gotten the carne asada burrito, carne asada tacos, and the best chile rellenos I've had to date. The red sauce on the chile rellenos is worthy of being eaten by the spoonful. And don't let that review of the place being dirty throw you off (stopped me from trying this place until out of sheer desperation). It's got an "A" rating and I haven't seen anything sketchy. You can watch your food being prepared so if anything is amiss, you can speak up. If you like gooood carne asada and chile rellenos, RUN to this place. Just not on nights when I go. : ) read more

My sister & brother in law asked me get food from this place on the way to their home on Sunday afternoon. Parking lot was full although other businesses in the mall were closed. The restaurant was full of people. There were 4-5 people front of me waiting to order. Food here had to be good. I ordered tacos (asada, pastor and tripa) and menudo. I waited, waited and waited. It took 45 minutes! Only excuse for making me wait this long had to be a the awesomeness of the food. When I got to my sister's house, food was still hot. But what a disappointment... Taco and menudo was okay but nothing to wait in line for. Tripa was very soft. Menudo was just a menudo. I am not disappointed for the food being so typical. I am disappointed for waiting so long for not so special food. Waiting for 45 minutes for a food is too much even at the fine dining. Employees were good. They were just overwhelmed. I asked for a lot of salsa (hot sauce) and was given plenty. Although the cook could've been little faster, he did work continuously. I may return. But if I see any sign if waiting, I will walk out without a second of hesitation. I hope they improve. I am sure with that many customers, the owner could afford couple more employees. read more

Forget Tacos Reyes. Forget Tacos Way. Forget Tacos Mexico. El Taco Llama for life! This is my go-to taco spot. Asada is on point, juicy and delicious. Rojo sauce is spicy and tasteful. Perfecto. Escabeche (picked jalapeños) is mandatory. And the horchata is a nice balance of sweet and refreshing. If you're not feeling tacos or a burrito, try the California fries. If you're not feeling that, their tortas and pollo plate are good too. If you don't get crema and queso, you're not down. So, go. Specifically the Corbin and Parthenia location. This is important, there are many El Taco Llamas but this one is mine. They even opened up a Raspados place next door. I love the hell out of El Taco Llama. I have probably spent the most money here than any other restaurant. This is not because it's an expensive place but I've been here so many times. Over a span of 8 years I've eaten here at least once a week. It is one of my favorite places from my middle and high school days. One time we had a burrito eating contest among my friends. My personal best was three. Now that I'm older and wiser I stop after one. My go to dishes were the carne asada tacos or the burrito with lots of hot sauce. Other good picks are al pastor and lengua. When I found out this place burned down it was one of the most devastating days of my life. I had no idea when or if they would reopen. They had a second location a few miles away but the food and the staff wasn't the same. I also tried to fill the void with other Mexican restaurants but had mild success. It looked like a miserable year was ahead but about 6 months later one of my friends called me with exciting news that this location reopened! Now that I'm living on the east coast I always make sure to come back here when I visit my folks or on business trips. Places like this make me proud to be from the SFV which, in my opinion, is hard to do. It tastes just as good in my 20's as it did in my teens. read more

I had the shrimp diablo. I think I should have just hit a hard shell taco or something. There's some places to get shrimp diablo and others to just grab a torts or almehinnf and his is not a place to "indulge" on a shrimp feast. The food was bland and not spicy as shrimp diablo should be. I can't knock the place too hard though because their service was good and I'm sure a simple burrito or taco plate would have been way better. This is a working mans Mexican joint, that meaning its a taco place point blank. The dining room is open cold bench seats and the salsa bar is so simple and unkept as well. The beans are good too, you can taste the homemade flavor. (Like my mother-in-law makes them :)) The aguas are great too-refreshing. Avoid this spot! Carne asada was salty and room temp and fish taco was cold and greasy! I felt sick after 2 bites. The lady handled money, ate her personal food, touched the dirty register and made food! No hand washing in between. I got the nachos with fish which was mostly burnt, but I couldn't tell at first because it was hiding underneath a heap of toppings. After only eating about half, I felt so sick. My 1-Star Rating is based on their DISHONEST OVER CHARGING of items and not the actual food itself. What I'm writing this Review, actually Warning, about is their Employee/Cashier named "Antonio". Antonio is the Super Short, Obese Hispanic guy with a Mustache who looks like he's in DESPERATE need of a Shower. Its pretty scary knowing this guy handles money, as in DIRTY CASH/CURRENCY, and also handles the food he's serving us WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS OR WEARING GLOVES!!! I know because I saw this with my own two eyes as I asked his name face to face today 1/16/13. On TWO (2) Ocassions, I caught this guy overcharging me on every item (Burritos & Tacos). The first time I thought I miscalculated because I phoned in a pretty large order. I triple checked everything in my order and cross referenced it with their Current Up-to-Date Menu and I was able to confirm I was RIPPED OFF. I forgot to ask for and wasnt given a Receipt so I had no proof or basis to go back and ask for a Refund. This second time (today 1/16/13) I phoned it in but my order wasn't large so I was able to catch this guy RIPPING ME OFF again right in front of my face!!! I phoned in the order but when I got there they hadn't even started it. It turns out their dragging ass on my order worked out in my favor because I was able to see this guy ring me up with higher than normal/advertised prices. I asked him, "Why are you charging me $6.00 a Burrito and $2 each for the Tacos"? Antonio then attempted to do a Jedi Mind Trick on me and save himself by replying it was for an All-Meat Carne Asada Burrito and "Extra" Carne Asada on the Tacos. I told him that's not what I had ordered and then he got a stupid look on his face while mumbling something in Spanish under his breath and then charged me the correct amount for the Burritos and Tacos. While he was correcting HIS RIPOFF attempt, I realized I was pretty DISGUSTED with this blantant attempt of Overcharging so I decided I didnt want to go through with the order and keep guys like this employed so I asked for a refund since they STILL hadn't started on my order. I told him I'll show him my receipt but he was pretending to look at his Cash Register for the refund amount. Antonio then gets visibly upset then literally states, "Wait up Foo". I told him that he shouldnt speak to customers that way and he then proceeded to say something derogatory to me in Spanish which I will not repeat in this review. I guess he couldn't maintain his somewhat unprofessional civil facade under pressure and decided to get full on GHETTO STYLE on a paying customer (Me) who just caught him trying to run his RIPOFF SCAM. I received my refund and I stated I'll be contacting the Owner regarding his unprofessional and Criminal Behavior and he laughed it off and just acted like a Soccer Hooligan ridiculing me as I was walking out. That's the LAST time I ever set foot in ANY Taco Llama EVER. I don't care if I get FREE Burritos and Tacos for the rest of my life from these guys, a RIPOFF IS A RIPOFF no matter how small the amount. Just imagine how many times this guy has gotten away with this!!! I've called back multiple times asking for THE Owner but I keep getting the "Run-Around" and EVERY Employee who has answered the phone has LIED about when THE Owner actually comes in or will be available. Also, they've ALL just rudely hung up the phone before I finished speaking while cursing at me in Spanish. Way to go El Taco Llama!!! Mass order was made from the work place for lunch today, which had me trying taco llama for the first time. I just happen to work for a wonderful company who's owner really cares about his employees and buys us lunch every Saturday. So I ordered the taquitos, no sides but with extra guacamole. taquitos were great. Fairly priced: But they lost 1 star for giving me pureed guacamole?. I was really expecting the real thing, and a bit shocked I got a cup of guac sauce that a typical taco bell would have given me. Shame on you Taco Llama, that was not very authentic of you. Scarryyy! Found a bug I decided to try this place b/c of all the great reviews. I ordered 2 carne asada soft tacos. I lifted one of the tacos out of the box and there was a black beetle or tick looking bug with red and yellow spots. I'm sure the food is tasty but somebody call the health department.
