Customer service was horrible fir the first time in 8 years of going there. I have tolerated finding plastic wrapping in my food, I have tolerated an occasional burnt carne Asada, I have tolerated dirty silverware on occasion but I have never been so disrespected by a server as I was the last time I went in there on July 16th 2026. All the cheese and sauce stuck to the foil. The food was NOT GOOD either. They gave us a bag of chips with 7 chips in it (I counted them). 1 small plastic container of salsa. Wanted to do happy hour but they didn't offer any. Since we were already there, decided to stay and grab some taco and drinks. They offered chips with salsa immediately after we were seated. We ordered house margarita on the rocks Mexican mojito. Both were ok but the tacos were phenomenal! The shrimp taco was seasoned perfectly and the shrimps packed some crunch! The steak taco was just delish! The steak was perfectly season and cooked. A must try! So glad I ordered the Ala carte version of the tacos because I got to try their different varieties! read more

Great lunch meal @ El Tapatio in Medford, OR.! 1st time patron to this establishment and I was very impressed with my meal! This restaurant was recommended to me. We were seated promptly, asked for our drink order, and given lunch menus. Soon after, chips & salsa/beans were presented. I ordered a veggie fajitas bowl, it was full of savory and delicious veggies with rice & beans. I would most definitely order the same option again and again!! The restaurant itself is spacious with divided sections and colorfully decorated. It did get rather loud, with their TV's and numerous other patrons, but it's Friday during the lunch rush, so it's expected. Very accommodating for a large group on super short notice. We had "reservations" at a different restaurant that only added our party of 20 to the list when we arrived so we immediately needed a plan B. We were traveling and passing through Medford. Our table ordered birria tacos; chile relleno; enchilada; huge wet burrito. All were so so good. A perfect hearty meal after a long day driving. Authentic Mexican food and great service. I enjoyed the ginormous veggie burrito stuffed with onions, peppers, squash, mushrooms, rice, and pinto beans. My hubby was a big fan of the Arroz compollo. The service was the best part! My hubby's Cadillac Margarita was on point while the Pina Colada wasn't frozen and made with a mixture of fresh pineapple juice and coconut milk. The food unfortunately was very bland and lacking substance and spices. We ordered one of the $20 bowls, which the asada meat was ok, but the bowl itself was bland and the rice hardly had any flavor. Same with the bowl of chicken tortilla soup, big bowl, but very little meat and veggies in the actual soup as it was mainly all broth! Plus it tasted bland. Normally we LOVE El Tapatio (Medford). Over the years we have gone here numerous times, brought so many friends and family, had birthday parties, and more. Probably spent thousands of dollars here as we have a big family. It was one of our top 3 favorite restaurants around but after tonight, we will not go again. Tonight we called and ordered rice and beans, chips and salsa for 5 people. No entrees. Just rice and beans. according to the website menu, that would come out to about 40$. Previously chips and salsa were free (as they are in restraunt) and we have not been charged for them before. Tonight they quoted us almost 70$ for rice, beans, chips, and salsa. According to the menu that would've been around 40$. We said "the menu online has different prices" and she said "that's not accurate". I got off the phone and my family decided that was too much, so not even 3 minutes later we called to cancel. The woman on the phone said "oh my god we already started bagging it up" and hung up the phone on us. We were super nice about it and just told her that's too much money for us. We will not be returning. She was beyond rude for no reason at all. Hanging up on customers is a terrible business practice. I can understand if we were being rude but we were not. Please everyone note that the menu/pricing on their website is not accurate. read more

this is the best Mexican restaurant in Medford. I've had just about everything on the menu and all of it's good the Carne Asada tacos use real Carne Asada meat and the have great flavor. The enchiladas are fantastic and when they bring your chips out do you have two different kinds of handmade salsa to pick from and a plate of hot refried beans to dip your chips in. The food here is the best Mexican food we've found in Medford! Every time we have been there, the servers are pleasant, the booths are beautiful, and the food is outstanding! My husband loves to order the guacamole that is made table-side! It's all fresh and you can decide what you want or don't want in it! Tonight I had a Grilled Chicken bowl! I had never heard of Mayocabo beans, but they are yummy! The bowl contains rice, mayocabo beans, tomato, cilantro, and the best grilled chicken!
