El Tarasco is located on Pier Ave along a bunch of other shops and restaurants. Parking is street, and you have to pay. It was $6.25 for 2 hours. I ordered a deluxe burrito with shredded beef! I honestly did not like my food. The taste wasn't great & there were large chunks of fat still on the beef. Overall, these place has cute vibes and I love how breezy and open the restaurant is. I love how they open the side up so the store still gets airflow & all the Hermosa passerby traffic. I probably wouldn't come back here for Mexican food. read more

I finished my first two glasses of jamaica hibiscus very fast and Candace brought me another glass and a pitcher, along wth more delicious chips and salsa. Candace was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Chicken Soup here. Chicken Soup - Obviously, you're not really supposed to get the chicken soup here, but I am on a diet so I needed to get a healthier option. The soup itself was flavorful and light veggies and chicken. It came with rice and onions (you can order tortillas on the side). The chicken in the soup was pretty tough and difficult to chew, however they gave a LOT. You definitely get a bang for your buck if you're trying to eat high protein. My friend and I came to eat on Sunday, July 12th and we were overcharged. We ordered two agua frescas which costed $3.75 each while the receipt showed $5 each. We were also charged $1.50 for a mystery item that we did not order. When asking the hostess/waitress to correct, she immediately became hostile and defensive, exclaiming that "she does not make the prices or keep profits for herself". We calmly replied that we figured as much, but thought it was important for the restaurant to ensure that they were charging patrons according to the menu prices. It's never too busy, so you should be able to get a table right away - either inside or outside (much nicer). The service has been great every time. Ordered orange bang (UM... why is this place so great?!) and they brought out a CARAFE because they are even better than I remembered. Family started this place in El Segundo and now has many locations. They make their own guac from their farm and so that's impressive! Needed a HOT MINUTE before getting up to walk bc there wasn't any room left in my body to even process all I put down, but we did it. I still think El Tarasco won this time, but ready for a rematch.
