To me, this is my favorite of the "grubby Mexican" restaurants. It's not super expensive, and service is generally good. I've been coming here for over 20 years. It's good. Not life changing, but good and reasonably priced. I find the food a step above Tarasco and LBJ. So, I have a new rating system......I will be write what I feel honestly about an establishment. Saw this cute place while on a staycation in Redondo Beach and walking around near our Holiday Inn Express. Quiet for a Saturday night inside sit down at 8pm, but still plenty of to-go orders, and I'll guess they were busier earlier for dinner. Lucky for us! We were greeted warmly and offered a cute table with a view out to PCH. The decor is cozy and comfortable with pretty flower murals along the walls and framing doorways. Staff was very attentive and friendly and my eyes were MUCH bigger than my tummy! I went with the grilled white fish, rice and beans plate, but added a beef tamale from the appetizer menu. Hubs selected a beef quesadilla as his main. They have a good selection of beers and beverages, but when I saw a margarita on the menu I was curious and asked if they really had margaritas. 'Yes. Would you like one'? No need to ask me twice! Unfortunately, I think, to accommodate their beer & wine license, the marg was made with some sort of white wine and maaaaybe margarita mix from LaPaz. I didn't get a hint of tequila at all. Oh well, cerveza next time! Hubs' quesadilla was large and the steak juicy, he was very happy. My grilled fish was delicious and the tamale was perfecto! Lots of generous, well seasoned beef, not too thick of a mesa. We also liked the way they served "chips" and fresh salsa. The whole, fried corn tortilla in the basket! No way someone can complain 'these chips were all crumbs!' when served this way. Delicious! Rosa's gets it done. Good quality, flavorful, fresh food with a home cooked feel that your tastebuds will thank you for. Oh, your belly will thank you too unless you fill it with too many delicious nacho chips touched up with spicy salsa. Save some room for the entree. What entree? You have so many to choose from. It's a Mexican restaurant so at this point, I'm making an assumption that you know what you're in store for as you peruse the menu. I'm going with the enchilada plate. I've been coming here for years. It's been a local favorite place for take out when I'm on this side of town. The food is very good, reliable, and consistent. The worker was nice and polite. I usually order a combination plate, but this time I also ordered the chilaquiles and a tamale on the side. The server Renee was very helpful and respectful and had a lot of information about the food there there's a plate that's called bubble special, which is just Carne Asada with lettuce and avocado and that's if you just wanna eat the kind of sauce it is a great place Apparently this gentleman is a Cuban and he always ask for that. They made part of the menu which was interesting so good not very hot but one of them is but the one that tastes like tomato reminded me of Mexico when I used to go across the border and eat taquitos. I haven't been here for n years and was on this side of town so I decided to stop. I checked YELP first to see if things had changed but there weren't many current reviews. I was really glad I stopped! I ordered the red chili plate and it was cooked to order. The entire meal was exactly as I remembered and it did not disappoint. When relatives come to town we treat them To ROSA'S our favorite place for any meal. Even if I could cook we would love going there. They treat us like family arriving and all smiles. Wow! fresh food super authentic we here checking out the UCs for my dgtr and it's walking distance to Holiday Inn Hermosa Beach. U can park in the front or turn right on the corner the food was so fresh and plentiful even the fish plate was my fam got carnitas and enchiladas and the jugo drinks were also fresh they were open late too and our server was so amazing....i saw it's been open since 1954 or something coming from the bay i can seriously say this has been the most fresh and delicious mexican food we have had and there's plenty there so this is good read more

Love the homemade tortilla chips - they're so big and crunchy! The asado taco was just ok...the tortilla was a bit flavorless and would loved if the asado were broken down a bit more versus chunky. Where do I start?! Food, service, atmosphere, ALL AMAZING!! Upon walking in the first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was, even the restrooms were immaculate. We were immediately greeted by Rolando (our server) who we later found out was the owner! My husband ordered Asada Enchiladas and the meat tasted very high quality and fresh. I had the coctel de camarones and they were not skimpy on the shrimp at all! The shrimp were nice and big and there was plenty. My daughter had the kids quesadilla with rice and beans and as simple as the plate sounds it was so tasty! We ended our meal with their homemade flan that exceeded our expectations! This local Mexican restaurant is located on PCH walking distance to the ocean. I came here on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all and we were seated immediately. Everyone was super friendly and I think it was some of the fastest service I've experienced at a restaurant. They have a spacious interior with seating for large groups and a cozy ambiance. The menu is very large with a lot of customization and a lot of vegetarian options as well. I tried the cheese enchiladas combo that came with rice and beans. For $16, it was a large portion and filling meal and very tasty. They also provide tortilla chips and salsa for free. The only difficulty is parking since it's primarily street parking in the area, but the residential area nearby has free parking so it wasn't too bad! I've been coming here since I was a kid, when they were at their original location off of Catalina probably 40 years ago. I stopped going to Rosas after hearing about an owner change long ago, but that was a mistake. I started going back recently and have come to the conclusion that Rosas still serves the best Mexican food combos in the South Bay. All the entrees are on point and the chips and salsa are the best. I'm just going to get straight to it. I was craving fish tacos for about two weeks and I happened to be in the area of Rosa's so I stopped by to pick up some lunch. Food: Delicious! Everything was just prefect, food was great quality and tons of flavor. The portions were more than I expected, especially my fish taco was so big. Price: Very Reasonable, nothing to expensive. Everything was very well priced. Service: Covid-19 is definitely making things a bit tough for everyone but everyone here was so helpful and very welcoming. Take out and or delivery only, they have a great set up for picking up orders and placing phone or walk-in orders. I could be wrong but this definitely seemed like a family owned restaurant, I saw the staff and they all seem to work well together and having the young ones help while no school is in session. Location: Rosa's is located in a plaza right off the Main Street, parking can be a bit difficult but you can find a spot on the Main Street right out front.
