If you're looking for some really good Peruvian food I definitely recommend this location. They have a really good happy hour special with $3 draft beers that you can't beat. Their chicken is probably their best dish, definitely check this place out if you're looking to find some authentic Peruvian food. They offer outside seating on the stop is super nice, it's a great place for happy hour or to grab dinner with friends

Came to this place as it is well located near Locatel in Hallandale beach. Wanted to try their Parijuela soup and actually it was quite good.... The seafood was generous and cooked "al dente" as it should be.... For me, needed more spices to give more flavor and maybe a little more consistency.... But not bad at all.... Also ordered a corvina ceviche that was also generous and quite tasty... maybe missing some spice to give it a better kick!! My partner had the roasted chicken that looked very good... They do have diet coke on a can which is much appreciated!!! The place is clean and service was quite good.... Will come back!!

Visited this restaurant for lunch, it's a hidden gem in Hallandale. Plenty of parking on the plaza where is located. I was greatly impressed by the food. The menu has a wide variety of Peruvian dishes. Seafood was really good. I tried the corvina dish with a salad and as a side order the ceviche. The food was very tasty and delicious. The ceviche had a lemon sauce and the veggies were soft, the fish tasted very fresh. My party and I also tried the "picarones", as dessert, they were very similar to donuts but sweeter and more crispier. Great prices for great quality dishes. We really Enjoyed all the food and trying the Peruvian cuisine.

We were a group of 5. We ordered Shrimp Ceviche, Avocado Slices, Seafood Rice, Fried Whole Snapper, Fried Whole Snapper with Garlic Sauce and Fried Sweet Plantain. Food was good. Portions were standard. Fish was fried well but under seasoned. Garlic sauce was very tasty. Service was horrible. Server was great before food arrived. After we got our food, he was serving other tables and taking phone orders. We had to flag him down for EVERYTHING we needed. He apologizes but says he has too many tables. Um. Staffing is not my problem as a customer. This is not a big place. He certainly was going in and out to the other tables consistently. We get the check. Gratuity at 20% has already been added. We question the server. Gratuity is added automatically to groups of 4 or more. I have heard of this for groups of 5 or more. And I usually spy this within the fine print on the menu. We didn't bother to question further. We paid and we won't be back. I could stomach the automatic gratuity if we'd had good service. We did not. I had high hopes but......I don't recommend this spot.

She explained all the dishes to my friends because was the first time. I invited my friend front America Airlines Flight Attendant was the first time they test Peruvian food they was fascinating with the passion pisco sour # the ceviche#arroz con Mariscos trio was wowww! Super fresh and delicious. They can stop to compliment the food and the service. We love to travel different places and test different foods but this Restaurant El Tayta is absolutely delicious food. This place was really good, clean. If you want to eat something tasty you can try a "jalea" which is a mix of seafood: shrimp, fish and calamar We also love the "tostado". Service was very good. The personal explained everything. We will come back.

Horrible picarones. Dry and tasted like they made it out a box
    Diana M.

What a disappointment... as a fellow Peruvian I am just so sad this place exits. We drove all the way from West Miramar to get picarones because a friend recommended this place to me. We ordered Tacu tacu con Camarones, tacu tacu con ají de gallina and picarones as a dessert. We paid $23 for the Seafood Tacu Tacu and we get watery tomato sauce and I received 2 tiny shrimps you find on the instant noodles. Go somewhere else, there are many more places that do better. The only good dish was the Tacu Tacu with Ají de Gallina, it was creamy and had good flavor. Finally, the picarones was sooo dry and it tasted as it was made out of a box. I asked the waiter if they had a specific person making it and she told me there is a different chef on weekends... (we went on a Tuesday) On top of that they are auto charging for 20% gratuity and charging 3.5% service fee on credit/debit cards. The restaurant should be paying for these. Not us customers. I am not going back here again and wasting my money.

The service is incredible, the chef and other staff were quick and very attentive, making sure each dish is crafted to perfection. It's a very casual spot but the presentation of the food is up to par with some of the Michelin star restaurants you can find in the city. I do want to note that each group is served one at a time. We unfortunately showed up right after a group of 6 with another party of 2 already at the counter. The chef takes the order of the party that comes in first. The group of two ordered almost everything on the menu and the group of six put in multiple things meaning we were not able to put in an order until 6:30. Though this does make sense since there were only 3 people preparing the food, it was unfortunate since we were hungry and waited an hour to put in our first order. That being said, the food was incredible. We got the fish ceviche, spicy. tuna causa, and the cilantro lime rice. If you like spicy, get the ceviche spicy! It was one of the best ceviches I've ever had. The causa was very well balanced and the cilantro rice had a good amount of seafood in it. Everything was so beautifully prepared we almost didn't want to eat it! Overall, the food and service is amazing and I think the food is fairly priced for the amount of time and attention is put into each dish. But do be warned about the waiting time.

She broke down the concept of how things are ordered directly with Chef Anthony and from there, the rest is history. They warned their Michelin Gourmand bib last night and it was well deserved. First dish was the fish ceviche with medium spice (you can choose your level of spice). It was by far one of my favorite dishes. Following that, I had scallops that were like butter in my mouth with an orange zest as a finish. Following that was a tuna and avocado hamachi with a little crunch. This one is savory with a hint of sweet and it was a unique dish because of the ginger but it was good. Next up, the crispy rice with two tuna and two salmon and that was also part of my favorite bites. I ended the evening with tuna belly nigiri. It did not disappoint. 10/10 for all of the above. Definitely a cute spot surrounded by great company. Cute ambiance but you will also miss it because there is no sign outside so when Siri says you've arrived, she's not lying. Check them out and enjoy!

I'll be honest, when we pulled in, we almost turned around. The restaurant looked like it was under renovation, and it was completely empty. But let this be a reminder: never judge a restaurant by first impressions. We gave it a shot, and I'm so glad we did. The woman taking care of us was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially with my wife's special requests. The service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. Now for the food... wow. The Lomo Saltado was great. The steak was cooked perfectly, the flavors were outstanding, and everything tasted fresh. Even the salad was excellent, which isn't something I usually rave about. Funny part. When we walked in, I thought, "Uh-oh... why is nobody here?" But as soon as we finished our food, it was like someone flipped a switch. The place started filling up, and by the time we walked out, it was packed. I guess we just arrived at the perfect time! It does look like they're expanding and renovating the restaurant, which is great to see. I'm not just going to tell you to try Kausitas.... I'm going to tell you to run there. Outstanding food, a hidden gem that's absolutely worth discovering. We'll definitely be back.

We visited on Tuesday night as a party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children), and we were actually the only customers dining inside the restaurant. I had called ahead beforehand to confirm they were open and let them know the size of our party. When we arrived, the table was nicely prepared, which we appreciated. The food itself was great. That has never been the issue. What completely changed the experience for us was the automatic 25% gratuity added to the bill. When I politely asked why the gratuity was so high, I was told their structure is based on party size: 18% for 3+ people, 20% for 5+, and 25% for 7+. While the receipt does mention that parties of 3 or more are subject to a service charge, nowhere are those percentages clearly disclosed beforehand. A 25% automatic gratuity for a table of 7, especially in an otherwise empty restaurant with average service, feels excessive and misleading. For context, I am not someone who refuses to tip. I regularly tip 18-20%, even when service is mediocre, because I understand this is how servers make a living. But customers should be allowed to decide whether service warrants 25%, not have it automatically imposed without clear transparency. What made it worse was the dismissive attitude we received when simply asking about it. Again, the food was good. That's what makes this disappointing. But good food alone does not make up for poor customer experience and lack of transparency. Will not be returning.
