This place is just ok. It's a small Mexican food restaurant. The food sounds delicious on the menu but when it comes out it was different flavor. We were given complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the flauta soup. The broth has great flavor. Gordita plate needed salt. These tacos pastor needed salt as well. Flauta plate just needed something more. I ordered a large menudo to go at 9 am on 9 JUL 25 from El Texano on George Dieter and Edgemere, and when I got home, it looked like the left overs from the previous day and tasted like it also. I eat menudo regularly from different places, so I know what it should look and taste like when it's freshly cooked, and this one was neither. Yes, I can just never order from there again, so that's what I'll do. read more

This is our second visit and the consensus after our first visit was "meh". Tried it again a year later and much better. The beef in the alambre tacos had very nice char flavor and the shredded beef flautas were right on point. The Salas had good flavor and plenty of kick. The beans were good but the rice was just the typical bland rice you typically find in Mexican restaurants. The service was good, portions very generous and the prices were more than fair. read more

The food is good. It is one of my moms favorite places to eat at. The prices are good and they can accommodate large groups. This is the best location the food at the other locales isn't as tasty. I do like that they are willing to accommodate any requests. For example I don't eat meat and I always request that they omit this from what I order. The tortilla soup is amazing by the way, I definitely recommend it. They also have a pretty good selection of comida corrida. When we first started coming here over ten years ago they only had meat dishes, now they have vegetarian options for the comida corrida. I like seeing local businesses be progressive. One thing that they can work on is the service. It's always hit or miss. It's like they hire their own family as servers and they can be a little dismissive at times. read more

Wife and I have had decent breakfast in here from time to time. This morning I ordered one of my usuals, the huevos rancheros. I requested the chicharrones as my side, green, and crispy hash browns with the eggs over easy. I was served green chilaquiles with hash browns that were only grilled only on one side???, one egg over easy and one egg with a broken yolk fried until well done and luke warm beans. When I asked the server if I was mistaken and had ordered chilaquiles by mistake she said no, you said green chicharrones and ours really aren't green only. I guess she decided it was too much trouble to clear that up first. We will not be going back. The only reason they got two stars was my wife liked her pancakes. read more

Picked up some food last weekend. Ordered and when I arrived it was ready and good to go. Ordered kid enchiladas, flautas, carne asada tacos, combo plate (enchiladas, Chile rellano, and shrimp cocktail.). The enchiladas were about expected while the Chile rellano on the combo plate was soaked in a red sauce which made it really sloppy. The shrimp cocktail had a good amount of shrimp and the sauce was flavorful. Price was average and the only complaint is that when ordering over the phone they took the wrong order on the tacos. read more

Complementary tortilla soup is good but spicy hot, the parrillada is very good and affordable. The refried beans are extremely salty to the point of being inedible. This occurred twice in 2 visits within 2 weeks. My daughters enjoyed the flautas and the enchiladas. The tea is good but you have to remind the staff to refill your glass. You pretty much get ignored by servers once they bring your meal, I had to raise my voice to get the servers attention because she would not look toward my table. I waited 20 minutes for the server to pick up my card for payment after bringing the check, she did not show so I had to go to the register and flag someone else to cash me out. i don't think I will be coming back. I've eaten there a few times. The last time was last night (5/30/2020). My wife and I ordered two separate plates. She ordered the red enchiladas and I ordered a combo plate. The food was good except one item - the beans. I really like beans with my Mexican food meals, but the beans were extremely salty. My wife's beans tasted the same. The worst service ever! The owner and manager are both so disrespectful and just plain awful! I went the first time to the pendale location and my order was wrong, so I decided to go a second time to drive thru and told the manager exactly what I wanted and told them not to tie the bag so I could ck my order at this time I had already been charged. So I told him i was missing stuff and he wanted to charge me again I told him I had already paid and he refused to give me my missing stuff, and told me to move out of the way that he wasn't going to give me anything he was just a total Asshole! So I called to talk to the owner and he was even worst he didn't apologize and even cuzzed me out, I told him I couldnt believe how they treat the customers it was unbelievable! I've been wanting to eat here for a long time, and was the opportunity finally arose when I bought two fundraising tickets to help pay medical bills for a sick child. This is one indication of the tremendous community relationship this fine eatery has. What made it particularly nice for me was that I pedaled here on a late Saturday afternoon after having had a particularly strenuous morning of home maintenance on the North fence, and was in desperate need of good nutrition. What better place than this exceptional Mexican restaurant?! I pedaled up (literally) their driveway from Pendale under a partly cloud covered sky, parking on the large cement apron in front of the generous plate glass windows (bike racks for uprights have yet to be installed, but my Doublevision is a stand-alone machine). Of course, this is also a desirable space for exterior/smoking area, plenty of room for both! Going through the entrance, I was heartily greeted, referred to any open table--many were full--and was soon the waitress had brought tortilla chips & salsas. Since I already had tickets for enchiladas, an immediate departure was absolutely unnecessary, especially since if I stayed, I could enjoy a cup of delicious tortilla soup. Univision was on the flat screen, with the FC Juarez football contest going strong. The food is okay but the service isn't what I like. We are able to sit wherever we want but as soon as you sit, nobody comes and gets your order. They keep telling you "in a moment" but that moment doesn't come. Probably around 15 minutes pass until somebody comes just to take your order of drinks. We never get our check because whoever gets your order, doesn't come and asks if everything is fine. There's never people and they still take forever. Every time they keep switching waitresses while you're there so you probably meet all of them in one day. read more
