Food was delicious. I ordered a sangria margarita. It came out with great presentation. I thought it was just a drink but they added something to make it bubble. Tasted delicious. Food was delicious. I needed more tomato's/sour cream and couldn't ask our server. The table infront of us was really annoying, loud, needy. The staff was kinda hiding because of them. El Toro Bravo, what use to be Acapulco Joe's Mexican Restaurant is a downright horrible restaurant and provides the worst restaurant experience in the city of Indianapolis. The service is nonexistent and the food is flavorless. I ordered fajitas only to not receive tortillas to eat them with even after asking multiple times. The server seemed more interested in serving large parties ordering multiple rounds of cocktails then those visiting to enjoy dinner. We were seated without silverware or menus and took over 10 minutes just to order drinks. Chips and salsa were delivered within minutes of being seated however. It's sad they also stopped serving the famous Acapulco Joes salsa sauce. read more

If I could give 0 stars I WOULD. Went with a friend for her birthday on a Thursday, it was virtually no one in there but the 6 of us . You would think it was packed with the service we received. It took them over 20 minutes to bring our drinks and additional 15 minutes before I received my drink (which was the simplest one because it was just a margarita on the rocks). There was a bug in one of our drinks and when we finally got our food half of the orders we wrong ! On top of that the staff's service was unacceptable! They were very rude , unorganized and UNPROFESSIONAL! We sat at the table annoyed for over another 20 minutes just to get our checks and when we explained to the "manager" our situation, she became very defensive as if we were lying because none of her employees told her what was going on. 0/10 I will NEVER eat at this location again. read more

(no refill and they are free) we then see she was caught up in some elementary basic conversation while try to get her attention on getting our check. If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. It was my nieces birthday. We arrived at 9:19 pm, was seated and our order was taken. Our drinks were brought out while we waited for our food. At 10:30 pm , our waitress returned to the table with our checks and stated we would not be getting food because the kitchen closed at 10. She did not inform us prior to seating us that we wouldn't be able to receive any food. I honestly feel like our waitress forgot to enter our order and once she realized it was too late. So many people were wanting the new owners to keep the items that made Joe's the place to eat Mexican. No reason to drive downtown now when you can just go to Taco Bell. You might also be getting all this comparison to Joe's because the media said you would be serving the famous food items once you reopened. Well, this was a disappointment. We had gone to the previous restaurant at this location several times over the years. It has changed hands 2 years ago, so we were a bit nervous going into the restaurant. First, we stood waiting to be seated for a solid 5 minutes on a Friday afternoon at 1pm. The waitperson seated us and provided menus them left. She did come back shortly to take our non-alcoholic drink order. We were still perusing the menu and when she came back I placed my order and was informed that the did not have ground beef. I was dining with my spouse and he wanted ground beef as well. So we were back at looking at the menu for an alternative. My spouse picked the vegetarian Fajitas which in his words "put something on my stomach. I just ate chips and salsa, which the bowl was never refilled, nor were our drinks refilled. Our waitress disappeared and another waitress brought our check. So disappointing, oh well. read more

Decided to go here for dinner on Friday night (9/3/21). I was pretty busy with 2 larger parties celebrating birthdays and well as other patrons. My friend and I decided to still give it an try and hope that it wouldn't be a super long wait. We were seated rather quickly and were greeted in the first few minutes of sitting down. So far, so good. We placed our orders and there was a little bit of a wait, but understandable because of the amount of people already in the restaurant. When our food arrived it was hot and good. My friend liked her tacos and I liked the Acapulco Special that I got. This is when the visit started to take a turn. We were waiting for our server to come back and bring us the check. We were full, happy, and ready to go and there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. We asked the lady that bused the table if we could get the check. Nothing....then our server came over and we asked her for the check. Nothing. I saw someone at the register and decided to go over and ask if maybe they could look up out check by the table. She said sure, and printed the ticket once we told her which table we were at. My friend got the bill and said no this isn't ours. Our server then comes over and says oh there was an issue. Your ticket was paid for by someone else. Oh cool I'm thinking. Someone's paying it forward. WRONG! They gave that person the wrong ticket and he paid it so know she was expecting us to pay for that person's meal. She explains to us that our bill was more expensive so we were coming out better. My friend and I didn't feel like arguing and after seeing that the bills were actually about the same amount we spit the check and paid. We really didn't have to pay for their mistakes and the server didn't even thank us or anything. read more

Let me start by saying this was my first time visiting this place, the restaurant is beautiful, theme was very fitting, we were greeted promptly and seated within minutes, the place was full, the music was a little loud but there were definitely some good hits lol , I had the yard Margarita(strawberry), I was not impressed it was very sweet, no tequila noted(no buzz) lol, seriously we then ordered the fundido queso, the cheese was overcooked, flavorless, and almost burnt, congealed with a few bits of chrizo on top, as l looked around I noticed a lot of plates with most of the food still on them, We ordered, he got the chimichanga, presentation was beautiful, but the food was not hot, the rice was over cooked. I had the Acapulco Joe's special which had steak, chicken and shrimp with rice and white cheese, The waitress brought the food out with potholders, I'm not sure why the food was warm not hot, the chicken and steak were dried out the shrimp had been cooked pass done, the cheese was congealed the rice was over cooked.
