I recently placed a large catering order for a work event for about 24 people, and unfortunately, the experience was devastating. After the event, approximately 20 attendees became violently ill, with nearly half requiring medical attention where they ended up going to the ER or urgent care. Those who were seen by doctors were informed they had contracted salmonella. Given how severe the situation was, I feel a responsibility to share this in the hope that proper steps are taken to investigate and prevent this from happening to anyone else. Really great portions and friendly service. No bathrooms, a few tables. There seems to be a big catering business here as well. The papas tacos were amazing! Came with sour cream, lettuce and fried crispy, 5 stars! Loved the pickled carrots and radishes as well. The carnitas and carne asada tacos I got were HUGE and full of meat. That being said the carnitas were a little dry and I found the carne asada overly acidic. These however has a very extremely generous meat portion, which explains the $4 price tag. I really wanted the lengua (but apparently only have it sometimes, maybe Saturday?) so will be back to try that. Note the parking lot is on the small size. We went to this place while waiting for a ride and it just wasn't great. It smells really good from the outside and lured us in. I'm giving it two stars for the portion size and the fact the head meat taco was a tender beef. I appreciated that! Plus, nice temperatures for the lovely steam off of the meat! But, the carne asada may have been left over from the day before... it was hard meat, the tortillas were really dry... but, they tried to make up for that by adding a ton of tomatillo salsa... it was drowning in salsa. Went back again and this place is just better than before! I ate here instead of togo this time and I feel that there was more meat and one extra corn tortilla (3 pieces this time). Got the Borrego (lamb) and it is my favorite one so far because I love lamb with a bit of gamey taste and this place does it well and there was so much meat filling for my $3 taco! My hubby got the Cabeza and loved that and it was just as meat filled for $3! Since there was so much meat, we were able to split it into 3 separate tacos and ended with six tacos! Their corn tortillas are thick enough to be able to hold so much filling and sauce without breaking apart, but it is still soft enough and very enjoyable to eat. I think they season their meat well and the fixings they add on (tomatillo salsa, cilantro, and onions) makes it perfect! Love how affordable, quick, and filling this place is! read more

I was craving an authentic carne asada so we got door dash from El Toro bravo. I found a tripita in my carne asada taco plate. That was disappointing. I'm giving the 2 stars for the amount of food -it was a generous portion of everything and I liked the beans since it's authentic plain pinto beans. The carne asada didn't really taste like it was made on a grill. I will not be ordering from here again. The rice is made with a beef broth, if you like that flavor then it's good. Definitely one of our favorite taco spots in orange county. We have been to their tortilleria in Costa Mesa and wanted to see if the quality at this location was just as good as that one. Their quality is definitely consistent between the locations. A small tip, they run out of certain proteins quite quickly. So if you are coming from far to try this play, maybe call ahead to see if they still have what you want. Our family loves this place because of the flavor of their meat and the amount you get per taco. This time we ordered the chicken quesadilla and for the price, you get so much. The chicken is really good and the tortilla is grilled nice and crispy. Don't forget to ask for their salsas. Our favorite has to be their red sauce. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Ordered 32oz of rice from here for an at-home taco night (it was a little less than $7). The worker packed it in and definitely did not skimp on the amount he gave us! The rice was quite bland and dry though, but it did the job haha. We also asked how much it would cost for some chopped onions and cilantro. They scooped a very generous amount for us which lasted us for days and didn't charge us! That was so sweet!! El Toro Bravo is an OG when it comes to tacos and they have multiple locations but for some reason this one seems to go unnoticed. I'm not complaining because that means I can get in and get out quickly whereas in Costa Mesa I need to wait for a while just to order. They make their tortillas in house and they are thick, so their tortilla chips are also thick and not greasy - perfect for picking up more salsa or guacamole. My favorite thing about this place is you can pretty much order same day catering (tray pick-up not delivery) and the prices are reasonable. This was really helpful when my husband would call and tell me it was one of his employees birthdays and I could pull a makeshift party quickly. read more

It's makes me sad having to write this review. I come here all the time, but lately the quality has been horrible. The rice is burnt with no flavor, the beans taste like they're straight from a can and the last time I ordered beans, they smelled like puke. I threw the rice and beans away. The limes, radishes, cilantro and onions smelled and tasted like cleaning supplies. The carnitas were so dry, we couldn't enjoy anything we ordered.
