Turns out they were a Father and daughter team that was nothing short of awesome! We discussed local updates and shot the sh*t for 10 minutes. Been a while since I did this. Bacon and sausage breakfast burrito came out and it was great with crispy hash browns (a must have for me) and tortilla texture was great...not dry and not overly oily or greasy. I noticed Taco Pronto when I was in the same center eating at another restaurant. I noted that I wanted to check it out sometime. There was plenty of parking right up front. There was no one else dining inside since I came after the lunch rush. One other person came in to get a drink while I was there. There are a good number of tables in the dining room. The lady who took my order must've been tired or something because she wasn't having it. I kept it quick and simple and didn't ask any questions. Needed to pick up something for a late lunch and got a couple of burritos. Saved the other carne asada burrito for my husband. I ordered the Surf and Turf which sounded like a popular burrito. To my dismay, I was disappointed with this burrito. Firstly, the size and quantity was not equivalent to the price of the burrito which was $14.50. Since I wasn't in the mood for french fries, they said it would be substituted with rice. OK, great I like rice. However, it ended up being about 90% rice. The meat portion was so skimpy and to top it off, the meat did not taste that great. It was not very flavorful and the shrimp was not fresh, but rather most likely frozen. The salsa didn't help that much either. For the Carne Asada burrito, my husband felt the same way about his burrito. I did not say anything to him about mine until he shared his opinion first. He said that there was only a little bit of meat in his Carne Asada burrito. Note, there's also a 3% surcharge on a credit card payment. Love this spot. If you're looking for some good Mexican food looking further this is the spot. I stumbled across this restaurant while I'm looking for some Menudo. And Boy they did not disappoint. It's a mom and Pop shop and they definitely deliver with authentic taste. The Menudo is rich and full of flavor, and the chili sauce that they provide are awesome. I have also tried their Carne Asada burritos, I will say that my personal favorite is Menudo from them, but that's not taken away from the carne asada burrito, It was solid. It's a little restaurant, it does tend to get a little warm during the summer, but during the winter, it's not a problem at all, and if you are cold, the Menudo warm you right up. I've been coming to this place for about a year and it's always very tasty. I usually get the surf & turf burrito it's my favorite. It's a good size burrito to finish it on your own or share. It comes with fries, meat, shrimp, and salsa. I've loved it every time but the last time, I got just a few shrimp in there like 3 to 4 so I would love a couple extra to make it more to the burritos name. The people that work here are great people and always very friendly. It seems empty on the inside but if you come during breakfast / lunch time it's busy. There is lots of tables inside if you want to have it there and they also offer to give you salsa on the side. Note that they have a 3% convenience fee for using cards so bring cash if you want to avoid that. CALIFORNIA BURRITO ($12.50) - this had lots of meat but it didn't have guacamole which was extra. It needed some fresh ingredients and was just okay. They put the salsa on the side but I felt like it wasn't enough for the burritos so I had to be pretty conservative with it. 3/5 SURF & TURF BURRITO ($13.50) - I liked this one more than the California burrito mostly because of the shrimp. Other than that, they tasted very similar to each other. 3.5/5 CARNE ASADA FRIES ($12.50) - I liked the thin fries and they gave good portions of meat. I ordered this without beans and I'm glad I did. The portions could've been bigger but it wasn't bad for the price. 4/5 The service was good and they apologized for the food taking long even though I only waited 12 minutes. I've been here countless times and I'm finally taking the time to leave a good review because they deserve it! EVERY single time I've ordered from this place, they've exceeded my expectations. Quality food with generous portions, there isn't anything that I've had here that I didn't like. I also love how spicy their hot sauce is, it's housemade and they even have bottles of it for sale (the fiesta one is my favorite). What also makes this place stand out to me is the service on top of everything else. Everyone is honestly SO nice, the way they pick up the phone and the way they greet you when you enter, it's just all good vibes. Huge shout out to Taco Pronto. We needed breakfast burritos early in the morning to feed 30 church group members and they came through!! We pre-ordered 16 burritos, for pick up at 7:30 am. I showed up on time and they were ready to go as ordered. They included a variety of their home made salsas and helped load them into the car (because the try was hot) Burritos were a hit. I would have taken a picture, but people dived in before I had a chance. People enjoyed the various salsas and we would totally use them again. We also had the crispy shredded beef tacos and the surf and turf burrito that she said was the specialty. They were all pretty good. The only one I would pass on in the future was the fish taco. The surf and turf burrito had shrimp and carne asada and the salsa they had was really good. Probably my favorites were the crispy tacos and the burrito but I enjoyed the rest of the tacos too. This is one of my go to places for Mexican food whenever I am in the area. I recommend getting their surf and turf burrito which is one of their well known items. There is a good amount of meat, shrimp, and fries. One thing that would really improve this dish is having crispy fries for that textural contrast because the fries are usually soggy. The carne asada quesadilla is also pretty good, but I wish they would put more cheese in it. There's a good amount of meat, but there definitely needs to be more cheese because it was basically like eating meat and tortilla. It would be nice if they gave some guac or sour cream to add some moisture to the dish since it tends to be dry. The nachos were pretty good. I still think I prefer the ones from Sabrosada just because their chips are crispier and more flavorful. Chips tend to be a bit soggy at times as well. Overall this is a good place to try if you are in the area and are craving for some Mexican food. It is located in a small strip mall plaza so parking is not really an issue. Get the surf and turf burrito! Whilst continuing the hunt for the best breakfast burrito to bring to the beach, I found Taco Pronto. It was perfect for us since it was on our way down to Laguna Beach. The Surf & Turf burrito comes with asada/beef, shrimp, french fries, avocado, cheese, and a "special sauce." It was only $13 which felt reasonably priced. I was actually surprised by how many pieces of shrimp there were! The fries inside of the burrito are such a classic Californian staple, although it was delicious it was a soggy by the time we got to enjoy it unfortunately. The shrimp and beef were cooked perfectly! Service was good, we ordered 10 burritos over the phone and our order was ready around the time we asked to pick it up (40 minutes after our call). For some reason, the asada burrito had beans and no rice, and the pastor had rice and no beans.
