Really enjoyed breakfast here. My wife and I came around 8:00 AM, ordered inside, and sat outside. The patio was spacious and relaxing, and the restaurant had a nice Mexican feel to it. One small thing I really appreciated happened before we even ordered. An older Mexican gentleman got in line before us, but when he realized we were there to eat, he told us he wasn't there for food and let us go ahead of him. He mentioned he was there looking for an opportunity to work there. That was a really nice gesture, and I genuinely hope they gave him an opportunity. I got the red chilaquiles with carne asada, and they were really good, crispy, saucy, and pretty spicy, and the carne asada was tender and well seasoned. My wife got the chile relleno and finished her entire plate, which is pretty rare for her. Service was excellent, our food came out in under 10 minutes, and the water refill stations inside and outside were also a nice touch. $44 for two felt very reasonable for what we got. This is definitely one of our favorite breakfast spots now, and we'll be coming back. read more

First time at El Camino Cafe and we really enjoyed it! It's such a cute little Mexican-inspired cafe, and we came in for breakfast on a nice morning. We ordered at the counter, and the food came out really quickly. I got the chile relleno and my husband got the chilaquiles with asada added on top. Everything was delicious! I actually cleaned my entire plate, which is rare I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food, especially because I'm Mexican, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. My husband loved his chilaquiles too. Next time, we'd probably add an extra egg since they only come with one and he's a protein lover. We sat outside, which was really nice, and the service was quick and friendly. The water cups were a little small, but they have water available both inside and outside, so it wasn't a big deal. The side of Chorizo is amazing here. It had some crunchy edges which I love. We ordered a tortilla for $1.25 since the side doesn't come with any. Huevos Rancheros and Bacon breakfast burrito were good. They serve cafe de la olla but no refills. The salsas were delicious and taste just like moms. I loved the outdoor seating options and the line moved fast for us. We ordered and paid and were seated in a timely fashion. Cute little cafe located on the main strip of old town Tustin. It's not full service, so you do have to order at the counter, choose your own table and then they bring you the food. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The lady that greeted us at the door, the girls who were behind the counter and the servers were all incredibly polite, friendly and really made you feel welcome. I had the chilaquiles rojos and they were absolutely delicious, best ones I've ever had. It is a very generous portion too, with rice and refried beans as sides. I also ordered a dirty horchata which was equally tasty. The ambience and patio are cute, we opted to sit inside since it was kinda chilly. Overall a great brunch spot! read more

First time customer. Upon arrival, the micromanagement aspect immediately came into play. Multiple employees/owners asking if we needed to see a menu, you can't go inside until called, and you can't sit until the whole party is there. Then we were escorted to a small two top outside. Personally, having past managerial restaurant activity, this made me feel uncomfortable. The food was amazing, tasted like our homemade without doing the work. But the cost was a little surprising for the amount of food. If the ambience and functionality were better we'd return for dinner. read more

Wonderful, cozy breakfast spot on a sunday morning. We tried coming here once before and got totally caught in a chili-cookoff instead. Finally, 1 year later, we made it!! We came totally starving and ready to wait, but the food came out SO fast. You pay ebfore you sit, and walk away from the counter with your drinks. I got their cafe de olla (delicious, syrup made in-house!) and boy got the horchata. Sat down and were almost immediately served our food. My only complaint is the beans - they seemed a little watery and unseasoned. But the salsa more than made up for that :) The inside is tiny, and theres limited outdoor seating. But it's cozy and homey and all the employees were incredibly kind. I forgot my purse when we left and a woman pretty much ran down the sidewalk to get it back to me. Thank you!!!! read more

Been coming to this local cafe for a few months since moving into the area. It's a nice neighborhood Mexican cafe away that's far enough from the Old Town main drag (Main Street) but still walkable (2 blocks) after a meal for shopping/strolling. Street parking is much easier to find, no circling required. Each time we come on the weekend we would try something new -- EVERYTHING is excellent. Burritos, chilaquiles, tacos, etc. Every time we come, nothing is too salty -- just how we cook at home. This particular visit we happen upon their SUNDAY MENUDO, made by Chef Mom. Gotta try a bowl, and let me tell you -- I was blown away. Heavily and nicely spiced (not "water"), chockful of tripe/stomach, including the HONEYCOMB. AND NO HOMINY. I LOVE IT -- because I'm never a fan of hominy and hate it when all the dads and uncles at family gatherings get all the good stuff and the kids are left with the bottom of the pot. Came here for brunch with my cousins a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about this dish! I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas and OMG it was delicious! The cream sauce was unlike any other I've had with enchiladas and they were stuffed with a good amount of cheese! I added carnitas on top because I wanted a protein with it. You go up and order and then take your seat, and they are quick with preparing your food. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and quick to address any additional requests. I ordered the meat scramble and my wife got the huevos rancheros, and both tasted great. You could tell everything was freshly made, and the salsas provided were solid. The rice & beans were also good and well seasoned. It was a little odd they didn't provide complimentary water, but otherwise this was a solid, reasonably priced meal. You order before getting seated and there is a host that helps get you a seat. There were 6 of us so it took a little longer. The place itself is clean, cute but small. The food here was good, I liked my albondigas and was happy that I got to try it. It was a seasonal item. Although the overall experience was good, to be completely honest there is nothing special on their menu that I want to come back for. It helps even more that the owner and workers are so welcoming and friendly with their guests. My wife and I had lunch there yesterday which ran $60.00. This 77 year old customer asked for a cup of water to take medications. In California, that is a STATE requirement to provided water for customers. They stated that they DO NOT provide water. You must purchase it! Then when we left, we asked where to put our trash from LUNCH. We were directed to walk it outside and deposit the trash in the City Trash reciprocals, which was OVERFLOWING! Really? The restaurant can't handle the trash they produce? The MANAGER confirmed their policies... NEVER AGAIN! THEY WILL NOT SUPPLY TAP WATER TO CUSTOMERS! California restaurants are required to provide tap water, but only upon request. Under state water conservation regulations, restaurants, bars, and similar establishments are prohibited from automatically serving water unless specifically asked. Key details regarding this regulation: 1) Mandatory Upon Request: While they cannot automatically serve it, restaurants must provide complimentary tap water when a customer asks. 2) Violations: Restaurants failing to follow these rules could face fines, sometimes up to $500.00 per day. read more

This is a Mexican brunch restaurant at the end of Old Town Tustin. Everybody is friendly. Clean. Cute furniture. Beautiful day to sit outside. I ordered their chilaquiles Verde. It was delicious. I liked the slight kick. I ordered it with carnitas as my extra protein and all beans and no rice. My only complaint was that some of my carnitas was dry. If I ordered it without the carnitas it would have been perfect. The chips stayed crunchy throughout. Would definitely come back again to try something else. read more

Can't go wrong with this carnivore meal. It's tasty and filling. High quality meat makes this a WIN for sure.
