It was very busy. We found parking tho. Ambiance is cute. There was music playing. It seemed like a hot spot for people. Tables full. People at the bar. Food was good. Portions are large. I actually wish the tortilla soup came in a cup it was big enough for 2-3 people for an app. Will definitely be back again!

Met friends for lunch on a Friday and we're seated right away. We ordered off the lunch menu. I had the Chimichanga, it came with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, rice & beans. Real good but next time I would probably order the dinner portion because I love leftovers. The selfie wall is real cute and the mural outside are great. The building is old and could probably use some polishing.

The BEST quesadilla I have literally ever had in the 27 years I've been on earth. I had eaten about half when I realized I had to make a post.

In our constant quest to try new Mexican places we headed North... Chicken and chorizo burrito for me (Primo Special), Steak quesadilla for the wife. Hard shall beef taco as well. All veg in salad was super fresh. Everything tasted great. Very reasonable prices and large menu. Clean comfortable restaurant and great service. One noticeable thumbs down... bathrooms were FREEZING.

El Toro Mexican Grill and Bar is located near University of Buffalo and Niagara Falls and is a great place for large groups. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant and the bathrooms are clean. The prices here are medium pricey and the portions are huge. The waiters were a bit rude to us when we visited during grad weekend since we didn't speak Spanish and we'd have to check in on our waters being filled often. However, the food came out quick and was very conducive to family style eating. We ordered the margarita tower, which was filled with about 2 rounds for 6 people. You can pick the flavor of the margarita inside and it was pretty convenient self-serve for a big group. The spicy salsa was bitter and didn't really taste good but mixed with the free salsa tasted okay. The chicken fajitas were a bit bland but the salsas and guac made up for it. The quantity of chicken and veggies was a lot (1 order of chicken fajitas for 2 fed 4 people comfortably). The ambiance inside was conducive for families and had cute decorations for pictures. Overall, I'd recommend coming here with a big group for last minute reservations.

We came here for lunch and really enjoyed it. I got the lunch portion of the chimichanga and a size of guacamole and chips. Everything was great! We were able to get seated right away and our server was very attentive to us. It's super colorful in here too! Highly recommend!

It has plenty of parking in front and side of the restaurant with easy entry in. Nice Mexican music playing in the bar area , low enough that you can enjoy conversation with your meal. Plenty of tables, spread out into sections so you are not on top of other people. The staff was friendly and checked on us often. The chicken was nicely shredded white meat in all 3 items. The beans were tasty and we liked the cheese on top. We did find the complimentary chips a bit on the thicker side and enjoyed the salsa, as it was not too spicy.

Went to El Toro today for dinner. It took a little bit for our server to come over to us because I joined the table late (I was meeting my fiancé and a friend after a round of golf). Once he did come over, our server was very good. I had a Paloma which came in a cool clay cup, and ordered the Burrito El Toro. Both were awesome! The El Toro was so much food I couldn't finish it, but every bite was fantastic. The restaurant is fun, it has a cool atmosphere and the drinks and food are very good. It's an underrated spot for Mexican food in Buffalo.

Great service, good salsa, mediocre steak for the fajitas. Get the right cut of meat and marinate it and you'll get a lot more business.

Still a go to for authentic Mexican cuisine (I assume) always fresh and delicious with attentive staff and decent prices. Good drinks and beer selection. Large menu options

After a long day at work stopped in to pick up takeout with my grandson. Food was fresh, hot and then flavor was good.

Went for lunch with some friends and really enjoyed the experience and of course, the food. I ordered the Texas special which came with a chimichanga and a quesadilla with either beef or chicken. It also came with a little salad. it was a very good meal and I ordered it again. For drinks, I had the house margarita which came on the rocks and then the regular size came in a very large glass. I was not complaining. Definitely will be returning in the future.

Great food and service. Checked out this place for lunch loved the decor inside the restaurant. Food was so good and you got nice size portions. Had the house margaritas so yummy. The chicken tacos were so yummy and if have room for dessert get the fried ice cream

Combo plate. Enchilada and burrito I think it was.

I know this place was the original home of the Buffalo chicken wing so of course that's what I placed an order for. My friend chose a pizza. Besides the buffalo wings, I also ordered a salad. The salad did come before the chicken wings and the portion size was pretty good. Hard pass on the onions and croutons so the salad had only lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I would've passed on the cheese, but I didn't know it came with it so I just picked it off. Quite a few dressing options and I went with the raspberry vinaigrette. Overall decent salad. Onto the main course, Buffalo wings. You are offered a number of different ways. The wings can be coded with. From hot to very hot sauces to garlic and other ways, I went with the honey barbecue. The sauce was OK there was just an awful lot of it. The wings were very good sized so big credit for that. I did try a piece of the pizza and I would suggest they stick with chicken wings. Super friendly waitress with quick service and good banter.

He made the day! It's a tavern. Youre getting paper towels as napkins and tight seating. And you'll love it. We split the french onion and the fish fry. Im not usually one for fish fry sides. But damn--they were good. Both the Mac salad and the potatoes were excellent (and I dont love mayo) and very dill forward. Fish fry. Our new favorite. Maybe favorite stateside, not just wny. But definitely favorite in WNY. Crispy. Perfectly cooked fish. Not fishy. Huge. We split it. French onion: so much cheese! I ain't complaining. Good broth. Melting onions. My suggestion is to call ahead for pick up as seating is as claustrophobic as the parking lot. It took me almost an hour from seating and beverages to having food in front of me. Takeout is a must with this place. Note, the steak I smelled cooking smelled divine. I should have ordered that.

It was a bit busy (30-40 min wait for dining area), but there were a few tables off to the right of the bar where you could seat yourself. Luckily, one opened up right as we walked in. When seated at these tables, you have to order at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the nuggiez -- the sauce cooled the boneless bites down a little, but the flavor was still great. I loved all the sauces we tried (saucy hot cajun, medium, and garlic parm). The wings were perfectly crisp, and the steak pizza had a ton of flavor. Definitely a heavier meal, but if you're bringing someone from out of town who wants great wings, this is a spot worth taking them to.
