    So much to choose from

Great food at a great price, I love to order the mini tacos (asada is my favorite). Cute little hole in the wall place, and the servers are so nice.

Terrible food food. Eat anywhere else but here. Got rolled tacos they were soggy, no flavor and horrible customer service.

Great place. Lovely people. The food was good. #lovely #cute #willcomeback #

Worst experience ever! Hungry, I chose this for delivery via door dash bc it was a short delivery time. Placed an order for Carne Asada fries, with an extra side of guacamole and sour cream. Imagine my surprise when I opened the door to only find the sides! Store gave me credit for the main order, but charged 1.50 for the sides and the driver got his $4 tip! Restaurant never attempted to contact me to ask or advise me of a problem. Tried calling, only to get a recording "mailbox is full". Nunça mas con estas personas quiénes no importa sus buenos clientes!!! Desafortunadamente no puedo dejarles un review sin estrellas... Thank goodness for DoorDash! They compensated me for the charges , tax and tip after I couldn't reach anyone at the restaurant an hour before they were scheduled to close...

Just had the carne asada fries. It felt like I was having fries with carne asada and cheese with sour cream. The fries over power the whole dish. I would of just had the fires alone. But not bad. Just not satisfying. Maybe don't over season the fries?!

Two Adobada Street Tacos and Two Beef Hard Shell Tacos.
    Jack M.

This place makes some fantastic street tacos and some pretty good hard shell regular size tacos as well. I stopped in for an early dinner after work and order two mini adobada tacos and two shredded chicken hard shell tacos. They made a mistake with the hard shell tacos and served me two shredded beef tacos instead of the chicken for some reason. It did not really bother me, because I like them, so I went ahead and ate them. Although the shredded beef tasted quite good, the tacos did need a little more beef. The corn tortilla shells were very well fried to a gentle crispiness and nice very light golden color. The amount of shredded lettuce was just right and so was the amount shredded cheese, but in the end, more beef would of been just grand. The adobada mini street tacos were bliss. They put a good amount of the tasty and tender adobada flavored pork. The adobada tasted of red chili, oregano, garlic, and a touch of vinegar, but what I liked most about the pork, was the they great charring they left on the meat. The charring not only added nice color, but flavor as well. The guacamole was light in color and had good seasoning, and the chopped cilantro and onions were fresh. The corn tortillas were moist and came nice and warm. Great little tacos. They offer and unlimited salsa bar and some house corn tortilla chips which were excellent. The chips were of the thicker variety, which I prefer and like very much. If you come on Taco Tuesday's, they have specials like street tacos for .99 cents. The place is family owned and they are quite friendly.

    Crap!

Worst taco joint in all San Diego. The kid at the register is a little punk. He tried over charging me but luckily I caught him. They charge for guacamole. You must get otherwise you'll choke on the driest taco's in all San Diego. Never again.

Super dark and I mean dark, it'll take a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. Drinks took long after finishing our app. Ordered the mezcal in addition to our drinks and took even longer. Donut crab was actually good. I will give them that. We ordered the big ribeye entree and with the rec of the server would be more than enough- wrong. Ambience- looks better on social media than in person. Super small, they don't use half of the restaurant during weekdays to make it seem more full. After $260 of a tab, we were kicked off of our table (at 8:30, 1.5 hours after getting there) for another reservation directly after paying the tab. I needed to wait for my uber outside. Honest review- check my page as I RARELY make 1 star reviews. Never again.

We left right away to pick up the food and sure enough it was ready waiting for our arrival. One quick drive back home to dig in and the aroma was so enticing. California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco. I, on the other hand, am a huge fan of veggies and liked the ample amount they provided. ---- There's a couple benches outside in front of the shop and seating at booth tables inside as well.
