When we walked in on a busy Friday night the hostess said there was a 40 minute wait for two but if we wanted we could sit at the bar instead, so we tried it. This is mine and my wife's go-to Mexican restaurant in Logan. We love it. The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious and we've always been treated great by the servers. A couple of our favorite dishes are the Toro Viejo (which is more than enough to share) and the chicken caldo. We'll definitely be back. It's much, much better than EL Sol. read more

Absolutely delicious food. Unfortunately the service was not good. We didn't receive drinks until 30 minutes after we sat down. Our server never checked in on us during our meal, and then brought a check without asking if we wanted dessert. When she came to pick up the check and we informed her we wanted dessert, she seemed distraught. We never saw her again, as she never came back to serve us. Very awkward experience. read more

We struck out here. I ordered the steak pinto burrito and it came with stringy fat-filled meat and had a very sour flavor to it. My wife got carnitas and they were really dry and un-flavorful. This is my second favorite restaurant in Logan. It is just delicious. I agree that the green sauce is delicious as is everything else. The people are so friendly and they are all Mexican. We love El Toro! We go there a ton. I highly recommend it, & I've taken almost everyone I know there. The portions are very generous. My wife and I usually do the combo with 2 enchiladas with their white sauce (it's amazing!). However, we have tried several things there. Everything has been very good. The food has authentic flavor. The meat is always high quality. Plan on a wait on the weekends. They are very fast getting you your food & turning over tables so don't let the wait scare you away. Go to Rancheritos down the street instead. Yes, the fast food joint. Yes its mediocre food. But its the same food they're serving here at nearly half the price. I couldn't even finish half my plate before the nausea inducing rice and beans got to me. Worst mexican food anywhere. Check your palette with your local physician if you found anything about your entree delicious. The horchata was the only redeeming aspect of my experience. Love this place! The Tacos al Carbon are my favorite. It gets really busy and the staff get a little overwhelmed but stay friendly and are very apologetic if something isn't right. I also love their salsa verde. read more

My husband went there the other day after a great drive through Logan Canyon. It was pretty good the last time we dined (about 2-3 yrs ago) there so we thought we would give a go. First, they moved from where they were before & second, they completely changed their way of cooking. Sure my husband's chili colorado was good, but my combo of a cheese enchilada & beef taco was less than desirable. I myself could have taken a already made taco shell from a package & mixed a package of taco seasoning into some hamburger...not exactly how original mexican food is made. Sorry, but we'll stick to Maddox on the way home or REALLY good Mexican food at Burrito Grande in Roy. read more

Coming from Los Angeles, California, I know Mexican food. This is pretty Americanized. I ordered a lime and cilantro chicken plate. The chicken was pretty flat, dry, and I didn't see a single speck of cilantro on the plate. Chicken didn't taste like lime in any way. The salsa, both green and red, is SO MILD and tasteless. Especially the red one. I was tempted to mix the two to try and add a little bit of a boost, but I'm really disappointed that the "hot" green salsa was definitely more mild than mild salsa found outside of the valley. Maybe they are catering to "Utahn" taste buds, but I think that if you're going to call yourself a Mexican restaurant, the food should be more authentic. I just expected something with more flavor. The rice is pretty good, and I could eat a boat load of it. The horchata is good too, very nice blend of cinnamon. The waitress was great. I just want to add, I just read a review where someone was complaining about the food being too spicy and gave it a bad review for that... no wonder this restaurant doesn't serve more authentic meals. My goodness.... I wouldn't expect a type of food known for being spicy to not be... and I definitely wouldn't rate it badly because it was too spicy for my taste. Not one complaint. This place won't disappoint. The food, the service, the beers, even the bathrooms were all excellent. I had a seafood meal that had crab legs, scallops, shrimp and other awesome goodness. I don't recall what my work associate had but all he kept saying is "yum". I will definitely be back next time I am in town. read more

At first our server Cristy was nice and attentive. She took our order and we waited for about 35 minutes before our food came (people around us were getting their food who had been here a lot shorter than us) when we got our food she forgot all our dressing and when we asked her she was like uhhhhhm yeah. Like we were a burden.... When she wrote what we wanted down. She became very rude and didn't see her after our food came besides once to drop the ranch off. Service goes a long way when you don't get the food you want (the steak was sickly dry) and unfortunately this server just topped off this awful experience. read more

I have been here twice and both times I was not impressed. The first time my husband and I shared the fajitas. They were good. The salsa was good that came with the chips. The service was normal. The second time we went the food was terrible. My husband ordered a taco salad and it was wet and mushy. I ordered chili verde and it was ok but for the price I expected more and better. With so many Mexican restaurants in town that are way better tasting and lower in price, I won't come here again. read more
