Alejandro scheduled my car for an 11 AM appointment, quoted a price, and said it would be done by 3 PM. When I returned at 5 PM, the job was still incomplete. Worse, I found a donut on my passenger seat, and he smelled strongly of alcohol. The most upsetting issue was the damage to my dashboard, which was in perfect condition before taking it here. Alejandro denied responsibility, claiming it was already damaged and showing photos that proved nothing. His dismissive attitude and lack of accountability were infuriating. After seven hours, he failed to complete the installation, blaming a "faulty unit" and insisting I still pay him. I refused and now have to take my car elsewhere to fix his mistakes. Throughout the experience, he was unprofessional, condescending, and disrespectful. He even called me "a kid" while boasting about doing an "$800 job for $300." This wasn't about saving money--I simply expected quality work, which was far from what I received. Unlike all the recent reviews I had a bad experience with the tint job. After the first tint job I had to bring my car back in due to scratches, one air bubble, and a lot of dirt contamination. I brought my car for a 2nd time to get all but the driver window redone. When I got the car back he forgot to do the passenger window, but did all the other windows requested. One thing he did was mismatch the tint. He put an entirely different tint making my car windows have different tints. Still with a lot of scratches, some dirt contamination and air bubbles that weren't fixed from the passenger window. I tried to get a refund/partial refund, because I'm not going to have to my car sit for another day 10am-5pm, but he doesn't offer any. You get what you pay for, but here it's still a hefty $300 that I am out on. If you want a tint I'd suggest going somewhere else. If I can give 0 stars I would. I came in here to seek help to install my new radio and camera. I was immediately helped by "Hugo", his real name is Alejando. He installed it the very day I dropped of my car to him. I came back to a gap, cords coming out that prevented me to use my sliding compartment , damaged property without my knowledge ( I had to find out and ask him what happened) and the AC unit was not working properly. Also, he told me the camera worked but that it was just black. I told him to REMOVE it and HE CUT IT! After I told him I was not satisfied with his work he started talking about irrelevant things that had nothing to do with my car. The only thing I was satisfied with was that my radio was working! He insisted to give me a free camera and install everything correctly, everything was supposed to be installed correctly the first time! LIFETIME WARRANTY is BS, be aware. Few years ago they did tinting on my Mercedes Benz C250 and I was told that this has a "LIFETIME WARRANTY". Two of the windows tint got messed up over past few months. I called them and he said you can come over here and we'll take a look at it. I wend there 2 days ago and to my surprise he told me that there is no warranty on the tint!!! He told me that there is a $400 charge to tint all four windows even though I had the receipt!!!! He said the only thing I can do for you is not to charge you $150 for removing them. What do you really think people are stupid??! just because I came with a Mercedes that means I pay $400 for 4 Windows. This was supposed to be " LIFETIME WARRANTY". My appointment was on a sat he was 15 to 20 min late after our initial agreement on 310 he got me up to 400 that this tint keep the heat out blah blah. Dropped off car at 10am. I called twice at 3pm no answe got a ride over. He said why did i come yhe car wasnt going to be ready till 6pm. Literally all day. My ride left. I called another ride left at 530. I had 2 missed calls from him. Once i get to the business with my 3rd ride. He asked why i didnt answer the phone n the guy who gad the tint was in a car accident n my car was not touched. To leave it overnight which i refused. I had ti come back on Sunday. He made me leave a deposit. Took a picture of my id not sure why. I came back 3 min late getting off the freeway he callede if i was making it. The audacity picked up my car wauting 5 days and i got what was on the pictures after all that. Not professional at all! Quick and quality work. It's been 6 months since I had the tint service and it still in great shape!

They left a huge black paint mark on my interior rear. I'll be calling them tomorrow to have them redo my back window since there are bubbles. They are nice folks but, I am upset that they cannot own to their mistake. I tried removing the stain myself but, it wouldn't come off. I got my tint done on Monday and went to the shop on Thursday afternoon. Before I went to the shop I spoke with a person named Pedro and told him about what happen to my car. Regarding to the BUBBLES AND CRACK/ STREAKS on my rear window tint. He told me to bring it in. I got to the shop around 1pm and I was talking to a bald headed man that was wearing a red shirt that day. He seem pretty busy because it look like he had his family over at the shop so I am assuming he is the owner of this business. After he was done helping out his family. I kindly told him my problem. I showed him the rear window tint and he said "WELL THIS HAPPEN BECAUSE YOUR CAR IS OLD AND IT IS HARD FOR US TO MAKE IT PERFECT". Right then and there I was offended on how he spoke about my car because I believe it doesn't matter what car you bring in to the shop. What matter is that if you call yourself a legitimate tinting establishment therefore, you must execute all work in the most professional way. Not to leave tint film extras, paint marks, and bubbles on someone's car. After he saw the paint inside my car and he saw the the bubbles he told me to come back on Monday. I was shock because there was only one car ahead of me. I do not know how he runs his business, but I'd rather take the L and take it somewhere to fix this rear tint. Overall I just want you readers to know that this business is not so great. I would NOT take my car here or I would NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. If you love your car PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. No Bueno! My original stock JBL sound system sounded perfect before coming in here. I wanted an upgrade because the stock Prius stereo didn't have Bluetooth and with an iphone XS, you cannot charge the phone and do a hard wire connection to the Aux line with good sound quality. So I booked an appointment with El Tri for a weekday. I dropped off my car on the day of install and a couple of hours later, Hugo, the boss, called me to tell me I need a special connector, which would cost me another $150. I search on Amazon to find that they sold it for $60. So I negotiated the price down to $60. After the install, I picked up my car and noticed three important things: 1) my dashboard and shifter was scratched and 2) the audio was worse, 3) there was a RED, EXCLAMATION POINT on my dashboard. There was too much bass and overall quality sounded muffled. I also noticed that the red exclamation point on my dashboard was on. I find out that Hugo didn't do the install. His worker did it. I was upset but was convinced by Hugo that my car didn't have a more modern set up to accommodate the power of the new Pioneer speaker. Hugo also argued that the problem was me owning an older car. So I searched on my phone to find out that sometimes, after a stereo install, you need to reset the Prius's system to get rid of the red exclamation point. So I did that reluctantly accepted the new system. I forgot to ask him if he could give my stock radio back that day. Later that day, I drove to a gas station to fill up. After turning the car back on, the AC stopped working. I called Hugo and he said bring it in the next day. That night, I couldn't start my car when I wanted to go to pick up the groceries. I went to bed super upset and worried. The next day, I called another car stereo place in Mountain View, told them the whole story, and they told me that perhaps it could be that the resistor was not put on properly. When I started my car the next day, thank God, it started. So I brought it back in and Hugo installed it himself. I think he resolved the problem, and he admitted that his worker didn't put on the resistor. While there, I noticed that the left front door kicker was not working. So I told Hugo about this and he adjusted the balance, fader, and EQ and told me that I needed to adjust all this. Well, that didn't solve the problem. He wanted me to buy new speakers and charge me $25 for each front door speaker install. I was so upset at this point. I ended up telling Hugo that I don't trust his team because they keep trying to charge me more and more money. Also they didn't give me any money back for messing up my dashboard. Also, Hugo didn't have a good explanation for what he did with my stock stereo (he probably sold it to someone else). I would have given this place one star but I think that Hugo and his worker meant to do the right thing in their hearts, and after all, they don't have real or much experience handling car stereo installations. So I'm giving them two stars for doing their best but FAILING AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. But overall, I strongly do NOT recommend this place for a car stereo installation. They don't do a clean job and they really don't understand the electronics of Priuses. They are better off concentrating on tinting windows, which I heard that they do a pretty good job overall, but just not car stereo installs. I'm posting photos so that you can all see. read more

Coming back for my second car! Hugos did my Lexus Is250 windows great so I knew the second time would be no problem. This time he was doing my 2013 Chevy volt hatch. At first he charged me $200 then I asked him how com his signage said that 2 Rear, 2 Front and rear windshield was $179. He said that my car had the little corner windows that needed to be tinted and I was like okay so can we not do them? And he was like "noo its gonna look weird." So I said okay so we can do the rear corner windows and leave the front corner windows untinted. He agreed and returned me my $20. So long story short, tell Hugo exactly what you want and know exactly what you are paying for. Overall, the service was from 11:50pm-1:50pm (2 hours). That being that it wasn't so packed there. I was referred by a buddy of mine. He had his car tinted here and I liked how his car looked. I forgot the guy's name, but he was very nice and knowledgeable. He said it would took 3 hrs to finish. So my friend and I decided to kill time by shopping and eating. After 3 hrs, the guy called me and let me know my car was done. The owner very nice. But overall workmanlike just isn't like it used to be here at this business. Bought an alarm system. Wasn't installed correctly. Alarm would go off randomly through out the night. Took it in and he told me the sensitivity was lowered. Again that evening it went off numerous times. Again took it in and he said he lowered sensitivity. After inspecting the craftsmanship of the install. I notice he completely unplugged one of the sensors which is why my alarm stopped going off throughout the night. Auto start worked good I'm the beginning. After a couple weeks it stopped working. I have already taken my truck in there on a few occasions and he asked me to drop off the vehicle during the day which I am completely unable to do because I work during the day throughout the week. I paid to have speakers installed in the doors and a sub built specifically for under the seat of my truck. When I picked up my truck it wasn't a custom box that fit under the seat like he originally said, it actually took up the whole area where the passenger would put their feet. Just overall not impressed with this shop anymore. From now on I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere. And for the alarm I am going to have to look into taking it to another shop to have looked at and fixed. read more

I came in looking to upgrade my front two speakers of my Prius. While another local shop just down the street was quoting me 300-400 total for services, El Tri quoted me only 160$ Amazed I asked him why it was so cheap. Turns out actual speakers are around 40-50 for the speakers, and then another 100 or so for labor. (If you want to go super technical, the speakers on a Prius/Toyotas basically have these plastic spacers that keep the speaker from touching the door panel. My guess is that the other place charges a premium for these custom third party spacers. The guys here simply took my existing spacers, cut out the old speaker and popped the new ones on top.) Total time was under an hour. And the speakers were alpine: base model speakers for those on a budget, but still a good quality and significant upgrade than stock. It really does feel like an honest business. Before they finished installation, they let me come in and listen to the speakers on the door so I would approve of it. Also, they showed me the parts and explained to me how they would cut out the old spacer and place the new ones on top. How do my speakers sound? Great! And the fact I payed 160$ instead of $400: winning. read more

Went to Hugo and told him I wanted a top of the line alarm and remote car start said no problem I do this everyday i work on utility trucks like yours and went to school for it.So he gave me an estimate and we agreed.Went to pick up truck after it was done and he said he could not get remote start to work and it would cost more to get it working.I wish he would of told me about this before hand.And BTW tint job was not done that well cuts around the edges were ruff and lots of bubbles.Not very happy and will not be using them again.I got an estimate to get the remote start added from another company and it will be done today. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. I got a brand new Mercedes Sprinter van and immediately had the stereo system upgraded and decided I'd take it to El Tri. When I picked up my vehicle after the installation the SOS light was on. I tried the sound system and it sounded good, but I was concerned about the light and mentioned it to Hugo. I pointed out that it was not like that before. He pressed the SOS button and a Mercedes rep answered. He said it was an accident and they hung up. He said it should go away right away. Well the light never turned off. I got extremely busy as I have my own business and did not have time to take it to him to look at and in the meantime the scheduled maintenance was due. They asked me at the Mercedes dealership if I had any concerns and pointed out the SOS light. I figured if El Tri did anything wrong or something that may void any type of warranty on my vehicle I'll have in writing what the cause was and much better that the source of the issue was found by actual Mercedes trained and certified people. So after staying with my van for 2 days (mind you that I need it for work and have all tools and materials for my projects and the extreme inconvenience to load tools and materials from my van to the loaner van twice, as their original timeline was one day) the dealership found that it needed an antenna amplifier that was apparently missing. They said that I should take it to whoever installed it and let them know what it needed and to have them fix it as it would be cheaper for them to fix it than the dealerships $235/hr rate. The dealership had it for an extra day and had to justify it by charging me one hour ($235) for their techs time. I got off easy as they spent way more time on it than just one hour. So I immediately called El Tri to set up an appointment for them to look at it and fix the issue. That was today. I called them after they had my vehicle for a few hours and then Hugo tells me that it needs an extra part that is going to cost me $250. He says he'll cover the labor cost, but at that point it's expected especially since there were no warnings on my brand new van prior to taking it to them. He asked if I had the old stereo, I of course did not, they never returned it and assume they discarded it along with the part needed to make my SOS light go away. I argued that he should cover the whole cost because as a professional (that has done other vehicles like mine) should know what it needed and he gave me a product that was not complete and demanded it be made right. He did not agree and said he'd meet me half way at $125 and I refused as I my vehicle was returned to me faulty it should be right the first time. I was adamant about him covering the whole cost and our conversation got heated. He hung up on me 2 times and by the second time I was not going to take any more unprofessionalism so I made my way to his shop. We discussed the issue at length and neither party backed down. He was stuck on the issue that I wanted him to pay for the hour of labor that Mercedes charged me for looking at it even though all I wanted was a product that works the way it should without causing any warning on my brand new vehicle. He was adamant about the part costing $250 and that he'll pay half, but I was not going to budge. Not because I can't pay the $125, but because of the principle and the way he is conducting business. For the fact that he should have done his job correctly in the first place and not left me with a warning on my vehicle. To top it off one of his kids flipped me off as I was leaving and none of them were wearing masks. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO HUGO.
