Great experience! We went on a Tuesday at 4:30 pm, right when they opened. We were the first ones to walk through the door. Service was fantastic; we were given the happy hour menu. We ordered: guac, mussels (I don't like mussels so didn't try these), the burger, crispy taquitos, and mac & cheese. I've had better mac & cheese-- it was a little cold and the taste was okay. But gotta say, the taquitos from the happy hour menu we're fantastic. Really liked them. Cocktails were also fun and the furniture set-up is neat, too. Very modern-looking. I want to come back and try other items from the menu next time. **Also: if you stress out about parking, like I do, know you can validate parking to have it be free for three hours. Loved it! So glad a restaurant nearby closed early due to "understaffing" (that just means they don't pay enough to keep employees) and recommended this place. Perfect fish tacos, a great portion and delicious flavors. Really great cheesy sweet potatoes. And a ridiculously delightful cocktail, the Bonita y Mentirosa. Very attentive and friendly staff. I love that this place opened up something for the area! They have a small lot that you can park behind their building. They share the lot with their neighbors, so parking is very limited. But if you get to find a spot, know your license plate number and give it to the hostess upon entry. They validate 2 hours for you. What I loved the most about this place was the interior. It was very clean, modern, and if you come at night, they dim the lights. It's a nice spot for a date imo. The space isn't that large, so when you're there, you will hear the restaurant bustling (asmr). So even when I spaced out for a little bit, it was nice to hear. We started with appetizers of the octopus, corn soup, halibut ceviche, steak, and the soft shell crab. All of the appetizers were amazing but the ones that stuck out the most was the ceviche and corn soup. Main course were pork belly sopas, octopus quesadilla, and short rib. We also ordered sides of Mac and cheese, elotes pudding, and mushrooms. The main shows of the food were def appetizers and sides in my opinion. I wish the main entrées were a little better. I stopped in for happy hour while I was in town recently and it was solid. I had a glass of bubbles ($7), the guacamole, and the chicken wings. The guacamole was pretty forgettable - not very creamy or citrusy and came with pretty heavy chips and a couple stout pieces of radish. The wings were pretty good and I ordered them medium, which was enough to get my nose running but they were tasty. It would be nice if they would extend their happy hour to the covered patio so you could enjoy the weather on comfortable days. I would consider coming back in the future. read more

For premium downtown restaurant prices only one out of two mains and two sides was really good. The rest fell flat. The absolute perfect spot to grab drinks and dinner for date night or a girls night, and such a convenient stop before catching a show at The Fox. This restaurant recently opened in Midtown and has the cutest interior and so much bar seating! They offer contemporary Mexican food that does not disappoint. All of the food & cocktails were amazing and it was seriously the best location! We ate here for dinner and walked to a show at The Fox; it was literally a 3 minute walk to the theatre AND they validate parking for 2 hours. We got the Ceviche, guac, cauliflower tacos, chicken tacos, and the Brussels sprouts- it was all delicious. I am obsessed with the ceviche- literally the best ceviche I've ever had! The newest must try in Midtown. Beautifully decorated with a great patio for outdoor dining (us and many other patrons chose outdoor dining) and fantastic service, but the food is of course the star. This food focuses on upscale Mexican cuisine with a focus on the Baja California region, so expect an homage to lots of on-point seafood, fresh ingredients, and plenty of flavor and zest! We tried at least 9 plates and everything was delicious. Particular standouts were the Pulpo a Las Brasas, Sopa de Maiz, Sopes de Carnitas, and the 6oz. Carne Asada (one of the best steaks I've had in town). Authentic Mexican food using extremely fresh ingredients that you can taste and see in the produce particularly. They will ask if you have reservations but I haven't found this place to be very busy (hopefully that will change soon once people pick up on how much of a gem this place is)! Relaxing, modern music by Latinx artists. I loved their playlist. Service is outstanding, of the best I've had in Atlanta. Our server, Yennifer, was very cheerful, engaging and checked in on us regularly without pressuring us to order more. Plates were cleaned up very regularly and quickly between courses. If you haven't already do yourself a favor and try this restaurant out. I must admit I was hesitant initially trying this place out cause it use to be a chill Mexican spot. Now a bit more upscale, the atmosphere upon entering is so sleek and sexy, definitely a good "date night spot". They offer a different variety of things but I would highly recommend the carne asada paired with the brussels sprouts, you WONT be disappointed. I would also recommend a drink from their scratch bar from no one other than bartender "Cocktail Papi" don't get me wrong the other bartenders are great, but Papi is an experience. This place exceeded my expectations so much. Since going I find myself here at least twice a week. Service is great, host are friendly, no long waits. They definitely got the vibe right here. We had dinner here on a Monday evening, and the crowd was very minimal. No wait time to be seated, and staff were overall very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean. Bathroom was clean, and loved the tall mirror to make sure you were together before returning to your table. That was a plus for me! Because we were really excited to try the beautiful drinks and dishes listed in other reviews, the hype wasn't what we thought. The portion size seemed more on the size of tapas. We were a little disappointed especially since we were expecting dinner, and intentionally had not eaten to save for this dinner date. We tried the vegetarian tacos (sooo good). The cauliflower and pineapple were a pleasant surprise. Also tried the ceviche (it was ok, only enough for one adult-not an appetizer to share), the guacamole (was the really good), and chicken tacos (regular, and again small in portion). The drinks were just ok. Can't recall the name of the drinks but wasn't impressed AT ALL. The pictures looked pretty and better than the drinks actually tasted. Ended up going for just a glass of Cabernet to hold over a conversation. Would I return? Sure. Not under the intention to get full from dinner or because the drinks are to die for but more so for the ambiance, and good company. I'm all about ambiance and vibe. This is that place you'll want to take your friends for some razzle dazzle cocktails in their life. The drinks here are so good, they **almost** outshine the food. I always go for the Piel Canela, which consists of Saint Theresa Rum, Cacao Liquor, Gifford Banana, and Scrappy's Chocolate Bitters. It's creamy and tastes like an ice cream sundae if you're into that kind of drinking experience. For spice lovers, they have the Suave: Banhe Mezcal, Agave, Poblano Pepper, and Lime. I have to take a moment to brag on the presentation too - some of their cocktails also come with edible flowers. And the drinks are strong too, so I'd suggest taking an Uber or Lyft. As for the menu options, I can't get enough of the Halibut Ceviche and the Tostada de Pulpo. Their food is fresh and light, and you won't walk away feeling uncomfortably full. The staff is also extremely personable and courteous, it's some of the best services I've had in Atlanta! Another typical Atlanta restaurant experience. Their dishes are designed to deceive people with "presentation" all the while serving under-seasoned and passionless food. I stumbled upon this gem while on business in ATL. Located in midtown, El Valle boasts a beautiful outdoor patio and a hip and cozy indoor bar and dining area. A modern Mexican concept with tapas style offerings and some larger plates. I tried the octopus quesadilla, carne asada, and a side of Brussels with chorizo. Everything was remarkable, fresh, and beautifully presented. Paired dinner with a Malbec rosé which was crisp and delicious. Service was exceptional. Great spot for dinner with a group! I visited El Valle this past week for their Happy Hour and absolutely loved it. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the bartender was super friendly. I ordered a Sangria that was not only pretty to look at but tasted even better. It wasn't overly sweet nor bitter it was just right. I also had a couple bites which included the smash hamburguesa, chicken taquitos, poblano mac and cheese, and their herb guac. The burger was little overcooked for my liking which made it a tad bit dry but it was still tasty flavor wise. My least favorite was the chicken taquitos which lacked much flavor and tasted quite dry. The guac and poblano mac and cheese were definitely my favorites. The guac had a little kick and just tasted quite fresh. The mac and cheese was flavorful and creamy but just know there is no chorizo meat in the mac and cheese which cause a little confusion. Review is for Sunday brunch. Patio seating on the side street side was perfect. Not too much traffic and a nice breeze. Service was great. The corn and poblano chowder was on point. My friend and I shared the shrimp sopes and they were ok but a little more bland than either of us anticipated. We also shared the French toast as a dessert. It was decadent and delicious, but I cannot imagine eating the whole thing. Definitely worth sharing though. The Passion fruit mimosa was fresh, and I tried my friend's Bloody Maria which was spot on. Will definitely go back. Looking forward to trying dinner. read more

The ambiance is sooo freakin adorable that I'm in love with all things ElValle. A group of coworkers walked a few blocks to one amazing lunch find on Peachtree. The food is everything and great portions. Tacos de pescado, herb guacamole with the best chips, and the Brussels are also a must order. Sparkling water or just water and the server was very attentive to our large party. I went back the next day for dinner, dinner post up next. Dinner the next day was served by MJ. She was very attentive and noticed the table was a little rocky and got down on her knees to adjust the legs to resolve the issue without hesitation. I opted for the chicken tacos and herb guacamole and we shared the ceviche. We opted to dine outside on the patio which was great weather but was disturbed by our city's urban camper who wanted money. The cocktail presentation cute and taste was on point. Stopped in by recommendation to El Valle. The energy was high and the place was packed. I had reservations and was seated quickly in the back area. The server and MOD were both quick and polite to assist us with our questions. I had one mezcal cocktail which was good. I was surprised the tequila menu wasn't as vast as other Mexican restaurants. We started with the pulpo which was really tender and good. Crispy but not chewy. The plátano sauce was delicious. I got the fish tacos and my fiancé the pork Kelly sope. The fish tacos were okay. The breading fell right off and I felt the fish lacked a little seasoning. The tortilla was good. My fiancé loved his pork belly sope. The elote corn soufflé was the star of the show. Brand new restaurant poised to fill in the gaps in the neighborhood's restaurant scene. El Valle is well-priced and the great location and space plus patio make it a winner for Midtown. A bright and lovely interior renovation sets the tone for the higher end experience offered by El Valle compared to its much more casual predecessor. The staff were prompt and friendly though it being the new kid on the block, the restaurant was full but not quite bustling for a Friday night. The cocktail menu leaves something to be desired. Many are intimidated by tequila and especially mezcal and they dominate the drink list. The only two non-tequila cocktails were described as quite sweet. To appeal to the masses the cocktails should be diversified. Give me a standard margarita or elevate it but 8/10 tequila cocktails is too many and my date opted for a beer. The first course came out promptly--a nicely dressed salad with apple and hibiscus vinaigrette. Unfortunately the entrees arrived before we finished the salad. Call it a personal peeve but I hate a crowded table and a cooling entree. We also could've used fresh silverware when the entrees arrived. The real star of the evening was the braised short rib in mole sauce. I would come back just for this dish. Fork tender and unique enough to be interesting and a departure from the short rib you see on every Italian menu. The stuffed chicken was tasty but forgettable. Altogether really please considering this restaurant JUST opened. The atmosphere is lovely and you can't beat the patio. I will be back to try the ceviche and a repeat on the short rib. Hoping by then for more cocktail choices that aren't tequila-based but still pair with this modern Mexican cuisine. read more

On our way back we decided to go in and we instantly realized that we had not made a mistake. The owner himself was there and helped us get seated and was extremely warm and friendly. His son served us and he was extremely polite. The food is good and presented very well. The food choices are quite unique.
