Yuca y Carne

When I was in PR we are here and it was delicious, the people are really nice also. Very busy and popular

Chicken. Yucca, rice and beans, plantains
Mariyam S.

Roadside bbq joint that was recommended by a friend who visits PR a lot. We stopped by for lunch, there was a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes) but it was worth it. We got the half chicken, yucca, plantains and rice + beans. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, as was the rice! My favorite was the yucca - gooey goodness. There are tables to sit and eat at, the whole place was fairly clean, service was good and price was very reasonable. Cool roadside experience - felt like I was eating authentic PR food. Would recommend and would come back!

Some good real PR food. It's always busy when I went but they are super fast and the price is great and you get so much. Service is nice. The chicken so delicious , plantains are etc. everything was good. Wish we had this back home

I love this place. I come every time I'm in Puerto Rico it's our go to stop on the way to el yunque. The service is fast and friendly they usually don't speak much English but ordering is pretty straightforward as the menu shows both English word and Spanish words. There is plenty of space to eat outside or take it to go. It is surrounded by palm trees so the outdoor dinning makes you forget your on a roadside. Highly recommended!

Cuajo

Very nice place and the workers all seem to be having a great time. Loved that they worked with me as I don't speak too much Spanish it I understand a lot. My wife had the cuajo and mofongo and I had mofongo and pernil. The cuajo was straight cuajo. Wife said it usually has more like peppers and such and it needed salt. The mofongo was ok but I would've like more salt as well. The pernil was perfect! That was juicy and tasted delicious. I'd definitely come back for straight up pernil.

A great place for food if you are heading to the El Yunque or staying in the nearby resorts. Many locals order takeout here. The baked chicken was juicy and tender. The baked sweet potatoes was definitely a wow - very sweet and creamy! The blood sausage was a bit bland for me and the mofongo was just so so.

Best food I had all weekend. Great opportunity to try some local food at a great price. We got the pork ribs which basically fell off the bone (no need for bbq sauce either), the pollo (so flavorful and delicious), the mofongo, and the amarillos (sweet plantains). It was right on the way from the airport to our hotel (on the east coast). Plenty of seating behind the window to eat your food. Highly recommend!

Food of the people. $40 and enough for a few days for one. A must stop. The fried meat blew me away. Can't wait to have all this food for days to come. Street side and easy in and out.

Foos is pretty tasty, pernil is crunchy. The slushy drinks are very strong. I would say go for it!

Given more days in Luqillo, I would return every day to try all their food…read more I started with the arepas de coco - very well fried, soft, doughy puffs complemented with a guava sauce. They were addictive, it was hard to not eat all of them. They would also be a good dessert - reminiscent of beignets, but with less oil and sugar. For main I had the churrasco skirt steak with rice of the day. It was a generous portion of steak topped with a delicious churrasco fragrant with garlic. The rice was well seasoned and perfectly cooked texture. Server was enthusiastic about the food and providing suggestions. Though I suspect everything on the menu is delicious. Guests at all the tables around me raved about their meals. Indoor seating is cozy and comfortable. There's a small bar with counter seating.

The waitress (who was super cool) had to go and remind the bar to make my wife's drink. Then, she had to go and ask the kitchen why my entree hadn't come out when everyone else had been served 5 minutes prior. The food was good (especially the churrasco), but this was a very expensive meal. Like, "Holy hell is that correct?!"-when they bring you the check level expensive. We would go back for those drinks, but I would need to sell a couple of non-vital organs before we could afford to go back for a full meal.

The chef elevates traditional food to a whole new level. The food taste was great, presentation was also great. Service was 10/10. The driver that brought us from the airport to the hotel could not say enough positive things about the restaurant. He highly recommended it and it didn't disappoint. My son ordered the Farm to Ocean as prepared and I ordered the same with the sauces on the side. I wasn't sure how the smokey bacon cheese sauce would be with the chimmichuri but they were both very good and I should've ordered it already on the dish. My husband had the chicken and absolutely loved everything on the plate. He said it was so flavorful that he enjoyed every minute of it. He didn't like the first drink he ordered but did like the rum flight. My son ordered the Flan for desert, the desert menu was not available online for some reason, and had to be presented to us. There were limited options but my son said the flan was amazing. Our server was very attentive and the place was very lively.

We took 2/3 of it to go because their was so much! SIDES Coconut Rice - sweet and flavored with peppers and red onion with a toothsome chew that brings you back for more. Amarillos - a huge amount of sweet and ripe plantains with buttery crispy edges Tostones - perfectly fried plantains piping hot seconds from cook to table DRINKS The smoothies were topped with whipped cream and cherry with a little umbrella which was a nice touch, and the coconut smoothie was the FRESHEST flavor I had in 5 days on the island; it scratched the itch I had for fresh coconut on my trip.
