We decided to stop here cause we saw this place was kinda new, the place is very nice and clean, we ordered our drinks and food and they came out very fast and everything was so good, the food in the photo is the protein bowl and it's very filling, our waiter bland was awesome and really nice and cool.

I recently heard of this place and wanted to try it out. There was no wait when we came here, and we could pick wherever we wanted to sit. They have a nice decor with different sentences written in Spanish which makes it feel like they put some thought into what you see as you enter the restaurant. They gave us salsa and chips quickly. I would like the salsa more spicy but my wife liked it. They had a special on appetizers when we were here, 25% off. We got the queso with beef. It was pretty good, it had more zing to it than the salsa. They have a fairly extensive menu, if you like Mexican you will definitely find something that you like. I ended up getting the "pollo con mole". I haven't run across many restaurants around here that serve that dish so I was curious. The chicken breast was nice and thick and even size. The mole sauce was good, it had a bit more heat than I expected of mole. It was also served with veggies and rice and also charro beans. I made sure to save room for dessert and we got the churros with ice cream. It was a good size, enough to share for 2-3 people. Good tasting churros and the ice cream went well with it. Overall it was a really good experience, the service was good, the GM also checked on us to make sure we were happy. We'll definitely return and try some of the other dishes they have.

Came here because I heard good things. Great decision. It's kinda in a weird location but don't let that deter you. Truly good mexican restaurants have authentic music. Check. Green salsa is fantastic but eat enough and your forehead will sweat. Lunch fajitas plentiful and tasty. There is not a better lunch bargain in Denton. $14.00. Beans and rice plain but you don't need them anyway. The El Viejon margarita worth every penny. Strong, refreshing, and a real treat for margarita lovers. Service was on point at the bar and made this lunch an awesome experience. I'll be back for sure.

Had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! The service was top-notch--staff was always attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were excellent, perfectly made and refreshing. we ordered (La Viejona) & (La Buchona) both of those drinks were good The food did take a little while, but that's because they prepare everything fresh, which we really appreciated. When our meals arrived, they were piping hot and full of flavor. The owner even came out to check on us, which was a really nice touch. She let us know that they have live music on Saturdays--definitely something to check out next time! The chips and salsa were great, though I personally would have preferred the salsa to be warm. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Fajitas and margarita

We had the fajitas and they did not disappoint. The frozen margarita was good and strong. I loved it! I don't think I could pick a favorite part of the meal. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. Go support a locally owned business!

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. We also tried the margaritas--they had great flavor, though they tasted absent of tequila. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back...maybe next time we bring our own chips! :)

If I could give La Fondita Mexican Restaurant six stars, I would legally change the rating system…read morejust to make it happen. Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.

We started things off right with chips, jalapeño ranch dip, and queso, which is honestly the only proper way to begin a Chuy's visit. The queso was warm, creamy, and exactly what my soul needed, and the chips with that jalapeño ranch were the cherry on top. Speaking of cherries, we also got the Tito's cherry limeade, and it was the spring we didn't know we needed to bounce. Crisp, cold, a little dangerous in the cutest way, and honestly adorable -- the perfect little kick to start the meal. Our waiter was top notch: kind, attentive, and somehow always there right when we needed something without ever hovering. That kind of service makes the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. For food, we ordered the Baja shrimp tacos, and when I say the shrimp is BIG, I mean it (and no, we're definitely not out here flattering any men ). The shrimp was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and absolutely the star of the plate. They came with rice and beans, and even though I forgot to ask for the cilantro lime rice , I was still super happy with everything. We also got the steak fajita Tex-Mex burrito bowl, and every single bite just kept getting better. The steak was tender, packed with flavor, and once it all got mixed together with the salsa and scooped up on the crispy tostada, it was perfection. This meal was such a good reminder of why Chuy's became a favorite for me in the first place -- fun atmosphere, great food, amazing service, and one of those dinners that just hits from the first chip to the last bite.

The Tex-Mex here is seriously top tier, and the portions are more than worth it. And let's not forget the creamy jalapeño dip... easily one of the best things on the menu! If you're looking for a spot with great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere, Chuy's is definitely the place to go. I'll 100% be coming back
