Came here for a lunch with coworkers. The place was so cute and had a bunch of little Denton Easter eggs all around, on the walls, in pictures, etc. We all ordered a range of things. I am gluten free and they had a binder with a special gluten free menu inside that I ordered off of. I got the Migas (minus the hash browns and tortilla chip strips because there isn't a dedicated frier) they were so good and the staff was kind of enough to replace my hash browns with a side of fresh fruit so it was still a filling meal. I've been coming here for years. It's the best breakfast spot around, by far Food: delicious. Lot of options. There are corn cakes, for those eating gluten free, if you're still wanting pancakes. They're decent. The cinnamon rolls are huge, & not a typical cinnamon roll, as they're made from scratch. Covered in icing! Biscuits are layered, & delicious. French toast is really good, but it's also the same dough used for biscuits, so it isn't like your normal slice of bread French toast. The coffee is from "Avoca," a local roaster in Fort Worth. Sooooo good. Lot of options for the fancy coffee drinkers, at the coffee bar BTW Prices: about $10-20 a plate. Pancakes are pretty big, so you will be full. Just moved to Denton and while waiting on the movers we decided to grab some breakfast and coffee. We got a variety of food but I'll be honest, the food I felt was pretty bland. We ordered a side of breakfast potatoes and there was no sign of seasoning on them. Honestly, the BEST is their coffee !! It was sooo good! This is a little odd duck of a spot. We went on the recommendation of a friend. It was a little confusing, because once you get there you wait in line to place your order. You seat yourself, but we had some trouble finding a clean table. Not sure what was going on, but it seemed like the people who bus tables were busy doing other things. Maybe expo? Then I was confused by how to get our drink orders (they give you one of those table numbers, and then the drinks area has a matching one they put out when your order is ready). So a little of a learning curve, but let's get to the good stuff: the food. This menu is unique and has something for everyone. I lean vegetarian, so I was looking for something on the lighter side. I got the caramelized grapefruit and a Bee's Knees, which is granola, honey, berries and warm milk. I chose the oat milk. I also got the blueberry latte with oat milk, which was actually a tea drink. It was a delicious combo. My partner got the loco moco with sausage and jalapeño butter, scrambled eggs and hash brown. He ended up wanting more than one sausage patty, but I feel like we will know for next time. His other wish was that the jalapeño butter would be more spicy. I will want to go back next time we are in Denton, because I appreciate any restaurant that spends time finding unique flavors and menu offerings, especially for people like me who are not into the typical heavy breakfast menu items. I am super confused on these reviews. I will say the employees were very polite. The French Toast was not toast. And it was not good-it was bad. The fried eggs were "fine", although they were lukewarm and must not have used butter or salt because they were bland vs what I would normally get at a restaurant. The sausage was-I don't even know. It was a really odd flavor that I've never had before and it did not taste good. The space is fine-it's like a Panera or la Madeleine inside. But it's a restaurant-the main reason to go is for food. And none of the food was good. It wasn't even ok. It's like they were trying too hard to make it fancy and different or something. While visiting Denton, I met friends for brunch here. The menu is very eclectic. I do not eat red meat, and my choices were limited. The Breakfast Tostadas were very delicious, though the scrambled eggs were not up to par. They were cold, and not scrambled thoroughly. My favorite breakfast place in town! The bacon egg and cheese tacos are perfect. Tiny bits of hash browns in them so it's not too chunky. Always fresh avocado and nice amounts. I've been eating here for 10 years, the food is always consistently delicious! it is very cheap & very fresh, never greasy or heavy, I find some diners that serve breakfast food to use oil/butter that tastes greasy and leaves you feeling gross afterwards. Their biscuits are always fluffy and fresh too. I like the portion sizes because it's reasonable, I can actually finish my meal. It was not a stacked meal.. that may be my fault as I ordered the gravy on the side but no big deal I wasn't overly concerned about that part. All the food was barely room temperature. Decided to give this place a try. Bad decision. Coffee was excellent food was not good. Eggs ok, potatoes underdone, sausage hard as a hockey puck and tasted terrible. Gravy was flavorless. Jalapeno biscuit had zero jalapenos let alone Jalapeno flavor. Lastly, I could not find real silverware although I saw other tables with them. This a cool little place. I got the eggs lunatic with chorizo. It was delicious. There's a lot of quirky little items like individual sized buttermilk pies behind the counter. Great place for brunch! Don't let the name fool you, this place is by far not authentic Mexican food. This place offers a menu that fusions American favorites as well as Mexican favorites. Very creative and very tasty! The place was pretty packed but still had plenty of space. You order first, sit, and then your food will be sent to your table. Everything is self serve, from drinks, to utensils, to condiments. I got the Loco Moco which doesn't sound appetizing considering the direct translation is (Crazy Booger). Luckily, the dish tasted nothing like the translation. I ordered mine with bacon and a side of sausage. In total my plate cost about 13 before tax. I did think that there wasn't enough bacon. I expected slices and got bacon crumbles. The biscuit tasted amazing and had a flaky texture on the outside. Unfortunately it didn't seem to be cooked all the way. My girlfriend got the huevos rancheros. Definitely not traditional. But still very tasty! The salsa is no homemade and tasted more like chip salsa rather than a salsa that you would use for this dish. The beans were black and had a good flavor and the bacon was thick and crispy. I love the biscuits, kiddos love the French Toast, and everyone finds something they like every time we go. The chocolate milk in a cocktail shaker is very cool, and super good. This place makes it easy to order, and it's pretty fast. Lots of vegan and gluten free stuff, too! I can't give it five stars because the staff is unfriendly about half of the time, and the coffee selection is pretty limited. Love the unlimited coffee idea, and that all the to go boxes are easy to get and have options. I know it sounds goofy to like a lot of option for to go boxes, but when you've got syrup, drinks, condiments, large and small items all to try and take home, lots of different kinds of containers are helpful!
