There is a hedge by the neighbors wall that needs trimming every few months and there are also some palm trees that need the dead leaves to be stripped once in a while. The service was decent at first but has gone downhill. The property is a rental so we are not there very often to check if these tasks are being done. When we went down last week we noticed a very overgrown hedge on one side while the adjacent wall was trimmed and there were lots of dead leaves left on the plants. We ended up cleaning up the dead leaves ourselves and I emailed Kevin and sent him pictures of the overgrown hedge. When the gardener Nicolas came the following Monday I asked if the hedge was trimmed. Kevin said no and said it's because it's by the pool equipment and it was too tight for him to go in and trim it. This is BS as the overgrown hedge was on the outside of the pool equipment area. Even if he had to go inside the pool equipment area there is a lot of space and not tight at all. Instead he asked for $295 to remove the hedge which is ridiculous. My neighbor also told me he has observed the gardeners don't do much. They just walk around with the blower blowing dust around instead of doing any real gardening. I don't think I am very demanding but if you don't do your job and ask for more money to do it then it's time to find a better service elsewhere.

We hired him for a major project involving both porcelain pavers and porcelain tile, and from beginning to end, his service was absolutely exceptional. His pricing was very fair, but even more importantly, the level of service he provided was priceless. John is one of those rare people you simply don't come across very often anymore. He was always respectful, kind, patient, honest, and available whenever I had a question or concern. No matter what came up, his response was always some version of, "No problem, I'll take care of it." And he meant it. At one point, I chose to have part of the porcelain tile installed in a herringbone pattern. Halfway through the installation, I changed my mind. This could have been a frustrating situation for any contractor, but John never made me feel bad about it. He simply told me not to worry and that he would take care of it. That was his attitude throughout the entire project. Whether it was something I changed, something I didn't understand, or an unexpected issue, he always took the time to explain everything, educate me on what to expect, and find a solution. What impressed me even more were all of the things John did that weren't even part of his job. He set up a watering system for me that I hadn't paid him to do. When I had thousand-pound limestone planters delivered, he helped drill drainage holes in the bottoms and even helped lift and move them into place. None of that was his responsibility, and he wasn't being paid for it. He helped simply because that is the kind of person he is. After dealing with some extremely disappointing and dishonest contractors over the past year, working with John was a breath of fresh air. He is honest to the bone, incredibly knowledgeable, meticulous, dependable, and a true problem solver. In all my years of doing projects, this was probably the smoothest and most enjoyable experience I've ever had. It may sound strange to say about a contractor, but I genuinely enjoyed seeing John throughout the project. He always had time to talk, answer questions, and make sure I was happy with everything. Now that the project is finished, I will actually miss our interactions. And just as importantly, his entire crew lived up to the same high standards. They were professional, respectful, hardworking, and took tremendous pride in their work. They simply don't make guys like John anymore. If you're considering porcelain pavers, porcelain tile, or any project he handles, I would recommend him without hesitation. Five stars honestly doesn't feel like enough.

I noticed it and asked Matt about it before they got the concrete, but didn't care much. It's going to look interesting when I install my new pergola and have to cut half a foot on one side. I mentioned that I have two more big projects for them after this one. Doesn't look like Matt was interested and they left kinda in a rush without cleaning up much. We found a bunch of nails in our lawn area. Why? We mow our own lawn. Imagine the fun of catching and shooting nails while doing it. I also didn't expect to have my house painted again. Alex and the team worked with me to translate all of my design ideas, needs and wants into a modern landscape, including fire table with seating, built in barbecue area, gorgeous pergola with lighting, fans and heaters, and all new electrical, irrigation, planting and gas. Alex was wonderful to work with at all times, always responsive and had great ideas. Great knowledge of City of Irvine and HOA rules and inspection requirements helped keep the project on schedule.
